Try selling the old jello boxes to the studios in Atlanta or Nashville because they record movies & tv series that are set in the 1960’s & 1970’s. You can always reach out to theater supply companies even if you don’t have one in your town because they have them across the country. They buy up old beer bottles, beer cans, advertising and box foods that they can stock in the pretend grocery stores. Even vintage house decor. You have a whole new avenue.

I could do 175 wpm on an ibm selectric I, II, III. After about 78 they connected a sm box to our typewriters with sm cassetts that we could save our work too.
For dirty Tupperware (old yellowed) I just discovered a trick that saved me a lot of scrubbing. The yellowing is old grease. So in a big sink (or bathtub if you have a lot) mix bleach and dawn dish soap hot water then let them soak for an hour. I was amazed at what a difference just soaking did. It gets rid of the stickiness and smell on old Tupperware as well.

For example me and an old friend of mine went to an estate sale we had with intentions of picking the whole house as a team and then dividing items up( one for me one for you) at the end of it. well, I gave her a lot of stuff because she said she was using it for her theater group that she volunteers at with kids etc and that she was keeping it personal for herself and her Collection. Since we were friends my reselling was put to the bottom of the priority list as to not be selfish. ....well found out later she sold it. Almost all of it.
What restraint. Kudos! I would be going crazy. Would have already called in sick for a month. On a side note, hoarders are not bad or lazy people. Something just kicks in in the brain and everything becomes valuable. They need help. But I don't think an average person has any hope of helping them.
Up north in Vermont and I haven't dug through an old box in over a year. I collect new and vintage toys and haven't added anything vintage to my collection in forever! I have a stack of ones for the first yard sale of spring!
He is not a reseller. We did end up with a bunch of stuff over the next couple of days but it was not the items you might think. He wanted to keep most of the itmes that he thought had value but we found many many more that are selling great for us right now.

I'm surprised the guy with the house doesn't want to use your services more. You could sell a lot of stuff and split the money with him, but he doesn't seem too interested. Most sellers going through boxes of children's books check the Golden Books for first editions - there is a market, evidently.

I've just been watching "Hoarders" on a digital station, and people who do this, need to work with a psychologist or psychiatrist to get to the root of whatever caused the problem of hoarding. One lady lost her husband and 2 children in a matter of months. So many have had traumatic experiences to cause the addiction or whatever you would like to call it. Yes, embarrassing, but a person needs to walk in someone else's shoes before judging them, or anyone else with a different problem.
I watch a handful of pickers but I just love your accent and there is an honesty to your videos that I cannot feel with others. I hail from so far away the tiny island nation of Seychelles, but you make me miss my four years in Australia where I was introduced to garage sales.

Patience is the key in garage sale i dont mind dirty or trash just keep digging until u find item that well give u profit

Bubba is my son. I really dog n't know who's house it was. Bubba was working on cleaningn it out for the new owner
Also, those plastic boxes with the little drawers for screws and whatnot are good sellers.
Some of that older food packaging can sell really well.
