The best to ever do it. He could get more out of one note than anyone I’ve ever heard. Emotional playing is something very few can do. He had it in spades

Paul Kossoff was a highly sought-after guitarist known for his remarkable timing and intricate soloing abilities. He was a guitarist in high demand because of his remarkable timing and complicated ability to solo as a member of the popular band “Free.” Unfortunately, Kossoff began using narcotics at the age of 15. On March 19, 1976, he died of a pulmonary embolism while flying from Los Angeles to New York. When he died, he was only 25 years old.

Rory died after catching MRSA from a hospital . MRSA is linked to excessive antibiotic use in animals in the food industry .
That is what killed him . He could have been in there for appendicitis , whatever , the infection got in from the surroundings .
Not sure whether Hendrix’s haphazard drug use can really be called addiction …whereas Kossoff was a full on junkie, injecting regularly .

Paul didn’t stray from the Box. Much of his licks we’re pretty repetitive-but That being said he mastered the screaming finger vibrato and cranked those old flame tops up to another level! To me-Mike Bloomfield’ in his early years Was much more versatile- as were others like Alvin Lee/Peter Green-but then again were are talking blues rock players from the Decade before Paul took off. I can see his influence on blues players like Joe B and others.

    • @chickentwisties2298

You're dead wrong about his licks being repetitive listen to every solo he never repeats anything the same way twice and he had a more distinctive n emotional vibrato n feel then Mick Alvin n Greeny ...

It's amusing how many know-nothings think they can say something to negate the legacy of a guitarist who was good enough for Paul Rodgers for several years, and who is still considered an important influence on rock guitarists nearly 50 years after his death at 26 years of age. TH-cam might as well just post a poll - which is true? A - I appreciate that, like him or not, Paul Kossoff was an interesting and influential guitarist, B - I'm just a dumbass, C - I'm a pentatonic dumbass

That is what made the man so special for me, he kept it simple, it's what he left out that made his playing what it was. It was all about the feeling and the emotion. If you were aware of his playing then I really don't know what you were expecting here?
