Oh my Goodness!!! - My grandparents came to USA by boat from Olpe, Germany. My Dad (now long gone) didn't speak English until he went to school at age 5/6 (also second oldest of ten children) and went to school in Olpe, Kansas apparently established by German immigrants.
In school we were taught this way in music class as, a kid! I love to hear it sung the same way today, because, my dad and his family were of Germany and Irish descent and, people tend to forget that all those folk songs we learned in growing up in music class were mostly connected to our Germany and Irish Ancestry!
