AS a kid I loved honey, I loved Honey Nut Cheerios, and Bit o'honey, so ofc I loved Buzz Off! But, I did think his claws should have been a bit bigger, and his head larger and much weirder. THe later iterations of his design were awesome!
I had Buzz Off as a kid and I still love him today. He is very eye-catching and interesting. My favorite character is Fisto and I cant`t wait for a Fisto video, dear Toyguru.....!!!-)))
I love that "Bee my action figure" with the filmation sound to it I'm gonna point your channel to a youtuber that collects the line that might not know about this channel.
I'd just like to thank whomever made the decision to allow the goggles on Buzz-Off's helmet to actually cover his eyes, until the vintage line where they just sort of dangled over his eyes and only covered like a third of them. That always....bugged me. ;)
The only Buzz-Off I own is the 200x version. I really liked how he was more lanky, lithe, and insect-like than the buff version. Crossing fingers that maybe someday, we get a 6" MOTU 200x line, sans forced poses, and with improved articulation. Maybe something could happen in Masterverse.
@@spectorcreative1872 Oh, I definitely remember your video! I'm just hoping it can still happen. MOTU has more lives than a cat with a box of horse shoes.
If there would have been a way to remove the armor but keep the wings attached, I think the 200X head would have looked more at home on the Classics buck.
I have my original Buzz-Off, 2001 reissue SEALED, Classics, sealed Classics (thanks to Mad Matty Monday. Also vintage Super 7 loose and, somewhere sealed. I subscribe to no religion.

@@spectorcreative1872 HA! Oh, but there are GREAT science-y things to be learned from "Futurama." Just so long as you're not learning them from Fry or Zoidberg. 😉

Sounds like you should have left bees alone when you were a kid! Although the Cheerios bee and Buzz Off ... I never realized how much in common they have until seeing this video ... it can never be unseen! Call legal!
Yes. They were upset when a toy would say "limited to XX amount" but that amount did not count pre production samples or units given to employees &c...
@@spectorcreative1872 - I figured it would've been some collector who wants to know how many units of a specific figure were produced. Thank you Scott. I always appreciate the knowledge you drop.
I have to disagree, I think the 200x Buzz-Off head looks very good on the Classics body. I know there were some, like Whiplash, which looked a bit of place, but I didn't think that was the case with Buzz-Off. Plus, while the 200x figure looks awesome, it is definitely one of the most frustrating ones to get to stand and keep standing!
there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
He is the only good guy in my favorite top 5 motu characters, Mer Man no1 Stinkor no2 Spikor no3 Evil Lynn no4 and Buzz off no5. I saw a video abotu that kids wanted good guys, but i dont know any kids who wanted Prince Adam, Fisto or heck even He Man, it was all monsters we kids wanted back in the days. Mekanek and Prince Adam was something we kids saw as punishment to get. Same thing with Transformers we kids loved our tanks and jets and those was deceptions boring cars wasn't interesting only autobots we liked was dinobots and those was dinosaurs.
Freudian psychoanalysis is largely discredited nonsense, but I enjoyed the rest of the video. I really never liked Buzz-Off as a kid. The 1984 releases were packed with anthropomorphized animal characters, which always struck me as lacking in creativity. Buzz-Off is a C-Lister in my book, but his classics figure really pops with the bright yellow and the deep, dark brown. He has survived several rounds of thinning out my MOTUC collection.
I love the little bits of toy development psychology you drop into these videos.
Thank you. My partner at Spector Creative has her Masters in Child Play Therapy from NYU and she helps a lot with that aspect.
"Plus it meant I had an action figure on vacation"
I know the feeling...
True dat!
UH...you guys don't BRING toys on vacation?
I'm definitely looking forward to the explanation video about the techno organic virus. I love all of the mythology from this line.
I was thinking of doing a video on that and some other loose ends from the mini comics. I'll add it to the top of the list

I bet mattel dodged that bullet brown hair he-man? Hell no haha. He def is one of my top 10 motu characters.

Yeah, with the tooling as planned that wasn't possible
Buzz-Off was designed by Colin Bailey, not Roger Sweet, FYI

Stratos

Funny right?
Love Buzz Off specifically in 2002. Allthough u liked the old design a bit better.
I did indeed

Vintage Buzz Off bugs me as a kid (pun intended). I had a hard time keeping his helmet on his head. My mum bought it for me when she went to Hong Kong
Yeah, mine fell off too.
Fun video! Just one point of contention, though: honey comes out of bees' mouths, not their butts.

Does that mean that if Buzz-Off stings skeletor, buzz off would die?
But he has no stinger
Technically, as a male bee, he shouldn't have a stinger.
You'll be doing Stinkor?
I am going in release order. So, yes!
Oh he will I'm waiting so ever patiently. Stinkor has a cult following it would seem. But I'm his number 1 fan

To keep out bugs obviously
