- I hope you enjoy the Jim Zim 2019 Christmas model train video!
I shot this at a friend's house because they have such a beautiful Christmas tree and a large great room that is perfect for model trains.
If you've ever dreamed of having a big train layout running through your house, or if you're hoping to receive some toy trains for Christmas this year, this video is for you. I hope it sets a great holiday mood for this year, and helps warm you up if you're experiencing cold winter weather over the holidays.
The model trains featured in this video are the Piko 38246 Christmas camelback steam locomotive with tender, the LGB 25194 Coca Cola Christmas steam train, and the MTH 70-2117-1 Santa Fe Dash 8 diesel locomotive. (Santa Fe, Santa Claus. Get it?)

Gorgeous house too
Jim Zimmerlin, this is model trains to another level. Which child would not love to have this during the festive season. Even adults! Why not present this to Coca Cola. May be next year, instead of the usual Coca Cola advert truck, a full scale Steam Train as shown here will replace that advert. That name Jim Zim has just brought memories of Zimbabwes great beautiful Steam garrets and period coaches (1900) which were introduced to Rhodesia. Many thanks for your channel. Keep up the good work for all railway enthusiasts
God Bless this 🏠👌👌🥰
That is a kids dream right there. If I had this many trains, I would go crazy.

The Coca-Cola Train and the Christmas train are gorgeous
Very nice video, Christmas is always a good time for railways.
That is SO COOL, I LOVE those Coca Cola trains, especially the one where the polar bear is in the engineer's seat driving the steam locomotive, and I LOVE trains, I have HO scale trains in my bedroom that I run, I just run my different trains on the same track, just have to switch out my trains, not too hard to do either :)

at 0:22 what is that song called. Is it Pachbels Canon? I’ve looked that up but I can’t find any results with that music. Do you know what that song is called?
Yes, that's it. The group that did this particular version can be found at www.twinmusicom.org/
Just put "Canon" in their little search bar and the song will come up.
@@JimZim Oh Thx. I don’t know why it says it’s not a secure website. I don’t care though because Safari thinks a lot of things are un Secure. Thanks for the Music though I’ve been trying to look for this everywhere.
Hey, in case you weren’t aware, LGB created some more Coca Cola licensed cars. They released 2 new box cars, a diesel, a caboose and taker car.
Are they red, or yellow? I recall seeing some new yellow Coca Cola cars, but I really don't care much for the yellow color scheme!
They are yellow. I still think they’re a cool buy. After all, I spoke with a sales rep at a fair, and they told me that LGB was trying to get away from licensed products. You don’t know if an opportunity like this will happen again.
Does the house come with the trains? MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and your family and many thanks for your videos!!
Amei
You should put the polar express set around your tree!
I want my house to look like this 🥺
Me Too But It’s Not December Anymore.
I wish I had a Coca Cola train
Looks beautiful!!!!!!!
Great video man :). Would definitely love to have some G scale trains, but I'll stick to Ho scale for now (I'm only a college graduate). And I only really have space for Ho scale.
You could join a G scale or O scale club and run with them and run the HO at home....
@@sethkimmel7312 that’s definitely an option I’m considering
Can you do a video of your layout? Power distribution, plug ins, voltage, amps? How you control each train?
Just saw this
Your ginger son seems to like it. It’s hard to please gingers.
Can u give me a link where do u brought such a big train....if in pounds better plz
Most of my model trains were purchased from www.trainworld.com
In this video, you're looking at G scale trains.
Where can I get coke train?
The one shown in this video is an older model that they haven't made in quite a few years, so the only place to get one anymore would be on eBay... if you were lucky enough to check eBay at the same time someone was looking to sell one. They're not for sale very often.
There is a newer version, which is in yellow rather than red. They are for sale at:
www.trainworld.com/shop-by-brand/lgb.html?road_name=310&scale=146
@@JimZim thank you Jim , appreciate it.
Hi, greetings from Italy. Wonderful atmosphere :) Can you tell me where did you buy Coke train like that?
They haven't made those Coca Cola trains in quite a few years. I was able to find one on eBay.
@@JimZim thanks :)
Buenas noches. Me pueden dar información de ese tren por favor, dónde lo venden, cuánto vale etc.
Gracias.
I buy all my model trains from Trainworld.com
What you see in this video are G scale model trains, which are the largest (and most expensive) of the popular types of model trains on the market. You're looking at thousands of dollars worth of model trains in this video.
The locomotives alone cost close to $1000 USD, and each rail car around $200 USD. The track sells for over $8 USD per foot. The control system to operate the trains is about $500 USD. So, it is a very expensive hobby.
Where can I get the Coca Cola train the gives off the steam my son loves trains and when he saw that he was so happy
It's a very expensive item... out of reach for most families. The locomotive and tender together sell for about $1000. Each of the individual rail cars is around $150. The track is $7 per foot. Plus, you need a power supply and control system... which can easily set you back $500. So, for most families, it is an item best enjoyed on TH-cam rather than in real life!
Th is is so awesome . I feel like a child again. I want one of those . Where did you get the trains from.
poor cat looks lost out side
Great train, but sad its coca cola advertisement
Can you run live steam on the layout?
Sure, it would be possible. But I like DCC G-scale trains because they are so easy to control remotely. I run them from a tablet, normally. In this particular video, we were controlling them from a cell phone.
What’s this song called?
Pachelbel's Canon
Where can you find that Coca Cola steam train? Price?
They haven't made those in quite a long time. About the only place you might find those now is on eBay. That's where I got mine, although it was still brand new in the box... it had just been sitting on a shelf in some train store somewhere for years, never used or opened.
I have my own layout but it’s o scale
How do you operate all brand g scale trains
If you're asking what I use to power them and control them, I use a 10-amp MRC-brand power supply. It allows me to control the trains using the "Engine Driver" app on my phone or tablet.
@@JimZim where can I buy that from
I've bought most of my trains from www.trainworld.com
Just be aware that what your looking at in this video is expensive. There's probably close to $10,000 worth of model train equipment shown in this video! It's an expensive hobby!
@@JimZim where did your mth Santa Fe dash 8 with the hook and loop already on the train and where did you get them black flat cars at.
I bought the MTH Santa Fe locomotive from www.trainworld.com but you won't be able to do that because MTH is going out of business and is not making any more G scale products.
The black flat cars are just the bottom pieces from a White Pass container car. In other words, I just removed the containers.
Does anyone see the porter carrying an elf in its freight car at 1:19?
Sir i want by this
A good place to buy model trains is trainworld.com
