I discovered Slipknot by watching the DISASTERPIECES DVD in 2004-5. My buddy was floored that I’d never heard of them. A group of us sat down to watch. I really didn’t like metal or anything, Metallica was as close as I ever had gotten, maybe rob zombie. It blew my FUCKING MIND. I can’t tell you how many times I watched that concert. I always recommend that reactors just go do a 3 hour reaction to their 2002 DVD. If you want to know why Maggots have been around for 20-25+ years and will never leave, that DVD is the best thing you can watch to get an idea. They were just fucking brutal. The energy was immediately relatable, and irresistible for angsty young kids lol. Everyone always recommends Download 2009, but honestly, I think it sucks compared to their old stuff, if you really want to get to know what made them them.
Speaking of tech not sure if you heard it but tech did a song with corey Taylor they both scream and rap in that song it's called wither off his special effects album Oh you did just checked 😂
If you want to dig a bit deeper in extreme metal, but still with a groove, I would love to see you check out the death metal anthem Bloodbath - Eaten 🤘
