Another tip that can help is checking the dispatch report. You can see how many dispatches are being made to what jobsites, the address of the jobsite, and the supers name and number is on there too. That way youre not just blindly going from jobsite to jobsite.
That's a great point. Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it.
@unscriptedwithantonio appreciate the content brother 🙏
Glad I found your channel!
It took me 3 months to find my first job as an apprentice.
It's hard, but it's worth it. I wish you all the success in life. Thank you for watching.
Thanks for creating content and community Antonio. 🔥
Thank you so much.
Check out construction classes at your local community college and network as much as you can there - especially with the instructors.
Make connections wherever you can. I always recommend that. Thank you for watching.
@@unscriptedwithantonio yep yep!
I always show up before everyone else and suited and booted with my tool belt and tell them what’s up I know someone didn’t show up
That's a fact!
We're all zoo animals Antonio, I'd rather see the man/woman filming me in the proper safety gear then someone off site trying not to be seen. Everywhere we go we are camera, that same camera will cover your ass when you're doing everything right, and then it becomes a great learning tool. Competence means you don't care who's watching. Well done on the video, great tips for people trying to get into the trades line of work. Peace
Thursdays are a great day, normally not stressed out project managers, everyone is in a better place on a Thursday, you might get more than 3 minutes, and get told to show up Monday reading to go
Camera are everywhere. But I was getting some salty looks. We should all do the right thing no matter who is watching. Plus, most of the rules keep us safe.
Looking for a job on Thursday and Wednesday makes a lot of sense. Thank you for watching.
Great vid man! Love the uploads, great info for the new guys and just starting apprentices. How’s the work down there now? I just got laid off but I’m gonna enjoy the time off till I get back to ot
Thank you bro more videos are coming! I appreciate the support from way back. Work is good down here. I'm working a swing shift right now. I couldn't be more grateful. Life is good.
How can I find job dispatch report?
I go to the union call and get the report. Or just travel in areas around the downtown area. Where I see cranes.
Is this the same process for ppl woth no tools or experience and how early should one be. Is 6am to early
It's going to be harder if you have no tools. There are programs to help apprentices get tools. Even a pair of cheap bags is better than nothing. 6 am. isn't too early.
Any tips if there is security at the job site ?
Just tell the security you're here for a job. Unless the job has some kind of security clearance, you should be fine. Most of the time, security is only there during the night to protect the jobsite and tools.
Shouldn't be an issue if you have your bags on and you're a union carpenter
@@titocuevasseattle Totally agree.
💪🏽💯
Appreciate you fam!
Any work for pile bucks going on in the Pearl?
From what I've seen. Most of it was on the finished side. But work is consistently popping off though.
Sometimes I bring donuts
Thats good idea! i might have to keep that in my back pocket.
Beard gang strong
It's mangy, but it is what it is.
You just run up to places and ask for work. That is wild to me bro
Yes, that's exactly what we do. And it's nerve-wracking, to be honest.

Then what is the purpose of the union? If you're getting all your own work, then how is the union helping you?
Yep our union lets us carpenters hustle for work as well as they will find work for you
@wolfmanjack8402 Getting the mix 20/20 kind of sucks I heard. But if work is slow, you have to do what you have to do.
@aab-el9bd You can get on the out of work list. But I've heard from almost everyone that you have more success from hustling your own job. The union really just adds transparency. You know exactly how you will make on every job. You know you will be getting the same healthcare/dental. And all the jobs are going to be safe and after 8 hours it's automatically overtime.

I'm trying, fam. It's looking real mangy right now.
