Yup, the kids are indeed singing proudly in 'Māori' [Edit Spelling]. Also, Lyrics if wanted in English: "A war party, a war party! Footsteps pound the sacred warpath Many heads are sought Many slaves are sought This is the work of Tūmatauenga. Behold The chisel of Mataora The strong back The base of the spine The buttock spirals The thigh The war belt The tattooed bodies of warriors These are the omens of war. A mighty battle to avenge us Our ancestors gather to assist us Our priests prepare the incantations This is the work of Tūmatauenga. Behold The chisel of Mataora The strong back The base of the spine The buttock spirals The thigh The war belt The tattooed bodies of warriors These are the omens of war. Of Tūmatauenga1 This is the work of Tūmatauenga. The cry of guns, the blows of the taiaha The sweet flesh of our enemies The ovens fill our bellies with revenge This is the work of Tūmatauenga. Behold The chisel of Mataora The strong back The base of the spine The buttock spirals The thigh The war belt The tattooed bodies of warriors These are the omens of war." The de Jong boys of Alien Weaponry hail from Waipu in Northland, New Zealand and have a very strong Maori heritage, and both de Jong boys are fluent in Te Reo (Maori language) I am a very close friend of one of their uncles, himself a very good musician with a great collection of guitars and whose son's also formed a band as teens performing traditional rock music in local pubs.
The displaying of toungues is to frighten the adversary. When they decapitate the heads, the toungue inevitably protrudes and swells. They are showing their enemy what they will look like shortly. When approaching some of these tribes for the first time they will sometimes get in your face. They may even rough you up a little. But whatever you do, just smile a take it. They are testing to see if you are an enemy or not. Once they see that you are not angry, they may accept you and show you hospitality. Don't ever go there with those tribal tattoos unless you got them from the tribe. You will only recieve those after you have proven your worthiness. Otherwise, you might get them burned off of your body. This band is made up of mixed blood Maori and they are heros for preserving the language and culture of their ancesters. When they filmed this, two of them were teens and the drummer was barely 20.
The drummer and guitarist are brothers who started the band when they were 10 and 8 over a decade ago, so they were late teens/early 20s when this song came out. They all do vocals and the bassist from this video has been replaced by another friend of theirs when he decided to leave. I guess we're seeing it with Harper right now too but it's not very often you see artists start this young in metal, at least not that I can recall.
Saw and met these guys when they toured with Ministry. When they were playing, they totally owned the stage. When I talked to them after, it was hard to believe it was the same guys, they were just goofy teenagers. The guitarist/vocalist was just 16 at that time.

Alien Weaponry is one of my faves cause they're so unique. Those three kids are badasses 🤘🏼🔥🤘🏼

What about the third member of the band?......the bassist. His name is Ethan Trembath. He is a fantastic musician as well.

Fun fact Maori sounds so similar to woarani language, the first is a native new Zealand language, the second is a South American native one.
