I love to see Warren explaining a company like Apple and the business prospects behind it! He had stayed away from Tech stocks because it was not his understanding, and some time and education it is clear he understands. A true idol in every sense of the word. Also, I’ve noticed for a while this has appeared to be his favorite interviewer and I wonder why?

It`s Zen. To him the market is just a river that flows and he follows the rivers stream/current. He never goes against it or even try to speculate if it`s ever going another way. All of us others are emotional and not objectiv, and think we can predict the market short term. He knows AND feels that it`s impossible.
I like Warren Buffett. It's always interesting to listen to him. He's already a living legend.

Michael Moff There is no inevitable price spike and your days of spikes are just about dead. The US economy is booming, the dollar is strengthening, and you have about 400 million Americans using the dollar. Bad time to 'invest' in tulips. Or gold. Which is all you are doing.

I like that Buffett is frugal but still willing to change if he feels it is necessary. I was watching an interview from the late nineties where he said he does not use computers. But in this interview, he talks about how useful the computer is to his business. It took time, but he was not so adamant to admit that this technology had value to add to his work.

I just couldn't be as patient as him. He gets asked the same questions every interview. I would be like "WTF, why do you dopes keep asking me about the market? How bout asking me about my golf game or my new caddy? I have other interests you know."
"I feel $1,000, iphone is under priced" says the guy that owns 5% of Apple.
Nothing too expensive. You're just too poor.
People complain about $1000 for a property your life revolves around for 3 years while ok with paying $2500 for a month of rent.

Meanwhile Tim Cook the ceo of Apple just cashed in 125 million of apple stock.... He knows that it's in a big bubble, and will lose half its value during this next correction.
Jarron Jackson OK. What wakes you up in the morning? How do you time your breakfast? How do you listen to music when you jog? How do you call a cab to your work? How do you read email on your commute? How do you read news? How do you schedule your days? Take a picture? Scan a document? Contact your friends? Order a lunch delivery? Make a dinner reservation? Search a nice recipe? You know whether a store or restaurant is good or not before you pay for the service. The value that smartphone creates for users over 2-3 years is definitely higher than a month of rent. Do you agree?
Jarron Jackson if you are first day to corporate America. Management selling enormous stock after huge pay package is extremely normal. Most of management compensation are stock. Are you just gonna assume they don’t need money or diversification in their financial life?

Did you know a birthday cake can be made out of the tofu manufacturing process by product. I've made chocolate chip cookies and blue berry muffins. The flavored tofu was made with Jello(r) pudding and gelatin mixes with the soy milk. The article was in USA Today, Des Moines Register and other newspapers via the AP.

I've been a huge admirer of Mr Buffett for over 20 years, but I don't quite get what he's saying about the iphone. I mean it's not like there aren't wonderful alternatives to the iphone or any apple product for that matter. There are hundreds of other smartphone brands which can do all those things that the iphone does. And many would consider Samsung to have a better product.
bluegtturbo yea he says it’s undervalued because of what it can do (looping for stocks, weqhter, plane arrivals) the internet does it not the iPhone itself. And you can get phones way cheaper who do exactly the same
I'm a huge fan of Samsung since it has affordable smartphones.
He means that a person who is used to an iPhone will continue to pay premium price for the phone instead of buying a cheaper alternative. And my girlfriend seems to agree: she'd rather buy two generations old iPhone than buy the newest hight quality Android phone (like OnePlus) for the same price.
I think that sort of brand loyalty may be over-played. I know at least three fairly affluent people who got tired of the i-phone quirks and moved to another brand, though I'd agree once bought in to the apple 'ecosystem' there is a strong tendency to stay with it, a bit like having owned a Japanese car and being impressed with it's quality I'd never go back to a European manufacturer. The car equivalent of an i-phone might be a Mercedes or BMW (brands which a lot of people see as 'aspirational' though I wouldn't rate them as highly in terms of reliability).
I personally think Warren Buffett is being forced to invest in areas out of his competence simply because Berkshire has so much cash it can only pursue large deals to make it worthwhile for shareholders of BH. Apple has a large enough market cap to allow Warren to make a meaningful purchase for Berkshire Hatheway. Although realistically speaking if Warren is betting on the ecosystem of Apple it can easily become obsolete making it a fairly risky purchase compare to what he normally buys.

That's a good one. Sometimes opportunities exist then that don't exist now. He'd almost certainly do it a bit differently today.

A belated happy birthday, Mr. Buffett. I'm happy to get my SS increase - but sorry I didn't take a chance back in the 1960s to open my own business. I was scared - and then shorter thereafter someone opened Word Processing - and I wasn't there. I did better than my mom and my children are doing better than I - so I'm a success and my second marriage was my gift to last a lifetime.
In time you will call him Master.
