    Interesting bit on the long term storage, didn't know!

    What do you mean by regular maintenance with the syringe? Every two days? Every 2 weeks ?

    • @TheWorldOnPaper
      @TheWorldOnPaper หลายเดือนก่อน

      Twice a day according to the instructions.

    How about a convenient way to carry it? I'm still stuck on that. I just use it to fill a regular bottle. The tiny little loop on it has nothing attached, so I've hooked paracord on that so I don't have to hold it like a giant saggy sausage in two hands at all times. But a pouch to stow and hold it would be useful, especially something with a small pocket for a replacement filter and the syringe thing.

    For short term storage, say 2-3 weeks or so between trips should I let the filter dry out? Should I keep regular water in it? Or just backwash the filter, empty the bottle and call it a day?

      @@lifestrawthat doesn't answer the question. How should it be stored let's say for 1 week? Membrane and cap separated from the bottle? Or all together closed with or without water inside?

    Can this filter be used as a stand alone to suck water up through the filter? Like what you can do with the regular size right out of the river. Or is this just for use well attached to a bottle?

    Is this a product recommended for use in the Amazon Jungle where water is brown? I plan to use it in conjunction with water tabs. Many thanks.

    If I haven’t been using a salt solution for storage does the filter not work anymore?

    • @lifestraw
      @lifestraw  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Theresa, I would suggest you test the filter out before your next adventure to ensure access to safe drinking water. In the future, avoid drying out the filter by storing with a saline solution made by mixing a teaspoon of salt with water . This will keep the filter at its highest performance and maintain the hydrophilic properties of the membrane, while also preventing any mold or algae from growing during long-term storage. When the membrane becomes completely dried out, it can be difficult to get water to flow through again.

    Just bought this for a camping trip in the mountains and I’m not super impressed on the filter. it purifies water and everything perfectly but they just don’t last long. The water was from alpine Mountain Lakes with very clear and clean water. And the filter still clogged in 1 day of use. I’ve used the back wash tool and still clogged. maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong. I’ve read the instructions and watched videos on maintenance and it didn’t seem to work for me.

    Man it sucks how you designed the gravity bag when used gravity mode. All the sediment collects into the filter such a bad design compared to like platy gravity. You could have mad a way to attach the tubing to the filter while it's inside the bag that would solve it.

      The Peak Squeeze bottles are dishwasher safe, but we do not recommend drying them in the dishwasher as the high temperature could impact coloration.

    I’ve dealt with a lot of different water filter systems.. this is by far the worst. I’ve gone through 3 filters in 9 months. I follow this storage method. It’s only been used in alpine lakes where the water is very clear and still it ends up completely clogged by the next trip never stored for more than 60-90 days and always stored properly. I couldn’t imagine relying on this thing on a through hike. My sawyer has had to save me every time and there’s no complicated storage system. Also, the backwash syringe has broken twice not from dropping it just from using it as designed. I really hope you guys can improve i was excited when this came out but it’s a let down.

    I wrote to LifeStraw about the squeeze 650 I bought 3? years ago that I could not get ANY water from. Nothing. I just wrote them again about 1 week ago and AGAIN I have not received any answer. Very disappointed. I was hoping this video would shed some light, but it doesn't and this sales person is about as interesting as my bottle that doesn't work.🤬
