Yeah it's insane, I looked into it too; they legit, lost the entire code for the original game. Rebuilding it from the ground up takes a lot of dedication.
The only real gripe I can see out of this game is that the graphics, character models and animations look on par to the splatterhouse remake from 2010.

Since the console port of House of the dead 2. It got original mode where you can collect power up item like extra lives, extra continues, costume (yes, you can even play as Goldman skin for shirt and giggle) and weapons.

I can’t believe they actually made this playable despite the sweatshop budget they were most likely allocated to make this product! It’s really and truly some Slav Magic at play! On a more serious note, I was pretty struck by how much lag both the gameplay AND sound have here! How did they go about trying to cobble it all together (with all the new weapons) added while still managing to make them “feel” like the intended guns/armaments to be used per situation? I thought a proper Remake of this game with be “Pistol Only”, but I guess they realized that 1997 was way too long ago and imposed onto the game the modernization “it desperately needed(?)” while making a new mode to justify it… Huh. Verdict? Looks janky, probably plays jankier, and the updates to every, including the voice cast, kind of makes everything super uncanny and this story incredibly unfamiliar from the original! Still, I love that we got A NEW HOTD ANYTHING IN 2022!!! Note: Forever Entertainment SA is making me nervous of all the upcoming games they’re going to be pushing out for Sega & other companies…so if this doesn’t do well, which is a strong possibility…maybe all of those will go capoot 😔

Everything about the remake is great except the awful new soundtrack. The original tunes were so heart pounding, idk what they were thinking making it all sound so subdued now.
In total there's 20 scientists, only 14 (15 if play G Man Solo as path makes him go through the mainhall were the trap two trap scientists are) are rescue able while 3 outside are scripted to die and the inside are also scripted to die. The other 2 is scripted to die in the boss cutsence. The 21 survivor depending if you score high enough is savable as she is able to endure her wounds for her to use her secert medkit. If not she succumbs to her wounds and becomes a zombie. I played Rogan path and he always goes up stairs, while G Man gose through the bottom stairs. I wonder if you played split screens both characters take a different path to save all scientists as there different paths, but it requires you to fail someone in order for you to take that path, but you save someone else. In that process. House of dead one has different paths depending on the character you play and who you manage to save. Still wouldn't mind playing co-op were both Rogan and G-Man takes different path, but share the same life.

About unlocking the Armory, I know you have to save every researcher in any route you take but do you have to save them all in one entire run from chapters 1-3?
I saw Maximillian Dood play it and what he did was simply quit out of the chapter he's on and reload the current run at the current chapter if any of the researchers die
This guy- Use a grenade launcher on literally everything to get best ending. Every HotD ever, aim for the HEAD. More headshots = more score = better ending. Killing as many zombies as possible, destroying crates & getting hidden tokens also helps overall score & ending. But seriously, I think the grenade launcher should give u less points & maybe even hurt civilians. Gg though.
I see, this Remake character personality fully shows what's behavior will do clearly... And aside, it was fun but do a multiplayer walkthrough so I can see how's the team behaviour react... (Try Handgun only, as a arcade challenge)

No. There's the assault rifle, crossbow, then the pitter (wooden stake crossbow). The grenade launcher is great for hordes, but not good in hostage situations since the blast radius of the explosion also kills the civilian.
Getting this and now I here it's coming to playstation aswell hope it has playstation move support as well as vr hope it's true the house of the dead games on psnow don't support the move controller which is a shame perhaps we can get some time crisis aswell
