This 20K version of a truck will be 200K when it becomes available after price gouging and options. Assembly will be optional. It will be sold as a DIY kit.

when it came out sure, but with bidenomics in play its more. the problem is a cheap vehicle would be great but then you're getting subpar mexican build quality, meaning recalls and issues down the line.

My Mexican built Maverick is built great. Many American made Teslas are not. So keep your agenda out of it.

There is more profit in larger vehicles with abundant options than an economical vehicle that people actually want and need. The US gov allows fuel milage breaks for larger vehicles so this is another reason manufacturers keep moving towards larger. Once again, money and greed dictates what we get and not what we need.
20k...... just add a 10k destination fee, and a 30k "market adjustment" fee... before needless accessories and bolt-ons before it even touches the lot (that they will make you pay for), and no, they won't let you build fresh one because they're "out of allocation".
I'll believe 20k when MOST people are paying 20k.... not just random fluke pricing in areas that have steep competition.

A friend has an old ranger. It has and extended cab and is really a great truck. Why they don't bring them back is beyond me. Nice to be able to reach into the back of your truck too.
They tried. It's that POS thing sitting on the lots all over the place. They come with a twin turbo 4 banger that MAY make it to 100K it one keeps their foot off the gas pedal!

We are near record low unemployment and inflation is lower in the US than most of the world.

@@fightingchina2263 There's a processing fee, GAP insurance, Warranty, basic maintenance plan, but when financing it I get a 5% loan because of excellent credit. You have to say no to what you can and try to keep your payment lower.
I'm at $419 a month on my 2019 Nissan Rogue and for me that's a high payment.
