  • @shekharmoona544

    That should just be a separate floor plan that's made available. Changing the G to this is a fail and fills certain demographics. That exhaust near the window is a big no no. Great video Scott.

      I believe they were thinking about keeping the cost down after seeing what Jayco did with this same layout for under $100k. They are hoping for a home run on the Ekko for sure. I, for one, don’t believe these two RVs are singing to the same audience. There will always be a determined following for the ultra efficient stealth vans. There are still innovations that can be made in this genre. Disappointed that I’m not seeing any of them here.

    With the demand of Travado's, Winnebago PROBABLY has gone in full 24/7 production with cheaper, easier manufacturing and products....it certainly is a step down from your van...which I love....thanks again for all the tours at the RV show...I didn't have to get off the couch or miss a golf game...hahaha

    This layout will cause me to keep looking. I’m aiming to go back to travel nursing in 2022 and was considering a Travato 59GL but with the extra bedding area in the front. If I wanted a rig that sleeps only two adults, It wouldn’t be this new Travato at all. And the new smaller bathroom is a definite negative. These two items (extra sleeping and larger bathroom) were the entire reason I was aiming for the Travato 59GL...So sad about these changes:-( And thank you for the video Scott...It was great like all of your videos.

  • @mjkulczyk6409

    I have a Travato 59G, but the new floor plan would not meet my needs. I travel with my adult children and need a second bed. My 6' 2" son would hate bending over in the bathroom the whole time. He worked in the van while I drove, which would not work with the new table setup. My standard poodles ride stapped in behind the driver's seat with the table down. I put padded waterproof crib on all four cushions to protect them from the dog paws, which would not work in new setup. Water, electrical controls, TV, lack of storage... Big NO for me. I would not buy.

    I totally dislike the 2022 Travato G. I was not a fan if the original bathroom and the new smaller bathroom is NOT doable. I do not like the bed configuration it makes getting sheets that fit well impossible unless you have them special made. More unnecessary dollars. Also if you have to replace the mattress that will be a high dollar expense. The airplane seats are stupid ugly and would be one of the first things I would replace and the table mounting is too awkward to be usable. Also the TV is a hazard where it is placed, I would either knock out an eye or smash the screen in no time. I would remove it entirely. Other than that I perfer your configuration.

  • @dianeh9378

    So glad I have a pre 2022 G. Losing the puzzle bed, the inadequate table, the leg on the bed limits what the garage can carry, the loss of bathroom height, the protruding drawer pulls, the visuals of the murphy bed when up is not appealing, loss of storage under the murphy bed. The cabinets look cheap. The water tank is smaller. Can't imagine what WGO was thinking on this one.

    'Progress' even though this is 'new' is not necessarily better in my opinion. As a single senior woman, I would prefer a larger bath and I'm only 5'2" so for a tall male this would not be practical, and I would prefer a smaller mattress, thus larger storage in back. And putting all the dials on over the sliding door has eliminated a possible use of storage space/shelf. Thank you for the comparison tour.

    I don’t like it... would not consider it. Your design is much better. The table up front and the seats are a bad design. The bathroom step up and not supporting a taller person??? I also agree that the cabinet wok looks cheap or poorly designed. Overall it looks like they downgraded the interior and went possibly for something easier for them to build at a lower cost increasing profit ... would not buy one...

    Rather get a smaller fridge and closet allowing for the flex seat from the Outlander Storyteller-or the like
    *either loose one friend and only seat 3 or add a single removable 3point seat on floor track mounts
    Bath sink 👍about time!
    BUT
    And the narrow commode area & Etta high floor 👎👎
    Put in a swivel bath like the EKO
    And the sleek exterior for stealth👍 having to open the back door to access everything ? 🤦‍♀️🥴😤🙄🤒
    Duh! Was someone out sick that day? Honestly how much could it possibly cost extra to install an access panel through that back door?
    Trust me there’s NOTHING inside there...I insulated mine I know

    Why would you put your city water and black tank flush inside your rig? Can not use it if it’s raining outside. Taking a hot long shower is now a security risk because the door needs to be open. And the bathroom… failure guys. Want to fix this. Put the water ports under the rig so you can hide them. Little inconvenient, but then they're hidden. Take this back to the drawing board and fix it. And stop cheaping out. Your fans and want to be’s are watching.

    It is too bad since most of the "changes" are for the worse no matter how Winnebago "spins it". Was so close to getting a GL because of your use/reviews, but no way now. Winnebago did a good job of making this "cheaper" and the bathroom now is a total turnoff. I could go on but now will seriously consider others. So glad you did this review and did not just order one without seeing it! Most manufacturers come out with new models for "improvements" and not many steps backwards. Winnebago for sure now is way off my list! Thanks Scott!

      It's just to bad that they took pretty much the only class b with 2 different sleeping areas and ruined it. Yes the k has 2 beds but the prior G while might not of been practical to sleep 4 unless 2 were kids it could have slept 3 realistically.. or two adults that would like some separate quarters.
      Was hoping the 2022 would have been more minor changes added features from the national park edition.

It’s very hard to understand that real users would provide feedback that produced these changes. To me, it looks like they wanted to go cheaper and increase margins which never produces longterm gains. Not having the extra sleeping area makes no sense. I'm not a fan of the living room area - they put in highway-legal seats to carry up to four people but removed the bed so the van only sleeps two. I'd much prefer the bench style seat that the earlier models have. A better work area for us remote workers. TV placement is odd. Better if there was a fold down option between the driver and front passenger seat for it - then you can comfortably watch from the liv room area and bed. Or just remove it and add a spot for a mini projector and a pull screen by windshield. I think the 18 gallon FW tank is the Achilles heal of the Travato. I'd love to see someone magically expand that and add recirc system for the bath sink/shower. And why is the kitchen sink not undermount? So easy to to do.

Scott yours is SOOOOO much nicer than this mess, and I could never go from yours to this new one, well guess I'll be looking for an old model or a different one all together, because they have changed the front so much and it no longer has the extra bed, which was a one of a kind for a class B van and they just threw it out, also they had the nicest bathroom for class B and chopped it down, what a mistake !!!! Scott thank you for your attention to detail and your knowledge and experience, also love your cooking videos, have watched you from the beginning and I am now a subscriber. Thanks again, take care and be safe.

    I think they are going Cheap cutting corners it’s interesting some of us are in the plus size and Winnebago is going smaller and smaller I think Winnebago is focusing more on their more expensive models and is letting the Travato die as I said a million times no innovation no imagination ... I’ve been looking at a TH-cam Channel that shows off the European models and they are SOOOO different and cooler .. We are on the hunt of a B van and it’s not going to be Winnebago that’s for sure .. Great videos Scott as always and thank you for looking out and using a mask it sucks but safety first..

    Scott can you do a video where you install a Pioneer system in the dash of your Travato please! This model can never be as homey as yours. The color of the wood and the grain looks cheap. The dinette has been ruined. Looks like race car bucket seats, can't sit in the middle at all. Does your model really have a kitchen window where if you leave it open the sliding door would hit it? Ouch that seems crazy. Really like that they removed the outside speakers that was so 1980's. Is there no Jensen in the new model? It really is not needed. In our K the speakers are so awful so we use a Sony Bluetooth speaker. We pull out the TV and set it on top and that works great. Thanks for being at the RV show we miss them so much.

    I was never a fan of the G mostly because of the small bed. It kind of filled a niche though for a solo traveler. In my opinion by trying to fix a few perceived problems they made it worse. When people step into that wet bath they will be instantly turned off. I predict sales will drop and wbgo will regret the changes.

    Looks like changes motivated almost entirely by cost savings. I am considering the purchase of a Class B, and have been evaluating the Travato G versus the RoadTrek Zion. I had been leaning toward the Travato, due to the usefulness of the floor plan. The changes to the 2022 Travato G will greatly reduce its usefulness. According, I’ll probably go for the RoadTrek, with its larger fresh water tank, better storage and longer warranty. Thank you for the video; it is really helpful.

    There certainly are some improvements, one one of the biggest in my opinion being the recirculating hot water, I also like the included bar under the new bed for making an outdoor shower area between the two open back doors. The regressions that you point out, however, ultimately make this a much less attractive model. The bathroom actually seems unpleasant to me now, given that anyone over roughly 5'8" is going to be hunched.

    One thing I noticed... it seems the new location for water inlets means you have to have your back door open to fill tanks. Is that correct? Not a fan of that.
    Also, if you notice at 14:38, their brochure seems to show the drivers seat turned around so the table can be used. So I guess if you need a table, you are required to turn the drivers seat?
    Wouldn't this mean passengers couldn't use the table if you are driving?
    Be seeing you!

      yes on the water. Lagune table can be used by spinning seat around or using the provided “bench” seats. Buy another Lagune table for two tables i guess to seat more people at a table.

    Not impressed. This is the cheapest-looking $118K vehicle I've ever seen, actually. The cabinets look like particle board. The seats look hard and uncomfortable. The bed is ugly and looks like it was an after-thought, and not being able to standup in the bathroom is just bizarre. And do I understand you have to open the rear doors to fill water? Really? Weird. If Wal-mart sold an RV, it would be the Travato. Ugh.

  • @greensavant2573
    @greensavant2573 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    All (No)WIN accomplished was to drive up the value of previous year Travato's!
    They pulled the same thing with the "Class A" Skinny Winnies (Via and Reyo) by eliminating the dual pane windows. That was a deal breaker for me.
    Time to check out the Coachmen NOVA!

  • @jjcastleberry3662
    @jjcastleberry3662 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'll have to pass on this. Why didn't they do a "Euro cassette toilet" Also use the double-pane euro windows that flip out from the bottom? Lastly, have the CEO sit in the bench seat for 3-5 hours and see if he /she likes it. As for the RAM vs FORD in safety features RAM lags behind Ford. Since I suffer from PTSD/TBI as a result of my injury in Iraq, I must have those "Safety Features" when driving.

  • @ojtamayosr
    @ojtamayosr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    What I like:
    The bench by the door is gone, making the interior roomier up front
    The automotive style seats, as long as more padding is added to them. They don't look very comfortable they way they are now
    The smaller table issue can be resolved by using a second Lagun table on the passenger side if needed
    Wider bed for couples
    Getting rid of the shower floor pump
    What I dislike:
    This is a deal breaker for me. No exterior connection for water hose and cable/satellite hookups. Or is there an opening somewhere and I didn't see it in the video? If not, what was Winnebago thinking? No way will I consider buying an RV that you have to use the water pump at all times and refill the tank when city water is available. Same goes for having to run coax cable through a window or the rear door molding
    Price. Winnebago is pricing itself out of the B market. Newcomers such as Coachmen and Thor are offering a lot more for the buck. For the price, Pleasure Way offers much nicer and better built units
    The bed frame color is unattractive, it looks like it came from a prison
    I don't care much for the W door latches on the cupboards. They look cheesy.

    If you have problems in that bathroom, a normal guy who is not as thin as you will find the bathroom unusable.
    Winnebago had the only usable floor plan for doing office work out there... and they ruined it.

  • @billymcfarlane1387
    @billymcfarlane1387 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Overall it's still a winner, the only nuance would be the interior. Looking at the underside of the bed would get tiresome although it would be down most of the time 4 me. The front lounge has lost some of it's charm & finnish, not in need of extra bed, so the extra room is inviting. Water connection might be somewhat of a nuisance The overall 59g new/old is still hard 2 beat, it's hard 2 find the perfect class B ( I hate propane) .... TY 4 the video

    I think it's great for a solo traveler under 5' 10"
    I would love it, I absolutely hate Dinette and Booths in RVs they are just uncomfortable and constricting. The older G was way to claustrophobic, no room to move at all. I Love the new seats and that table moves around, and it looks much more OPEN now.
    The Kitchen is GREAT, I'm wondering about the comfort level of the bed with out the plastic springs. The only thing I don't like is the squared off cabinets and same CRAPPY display and dash for GPS and Stereo. Wish Van company's would spend more time enhancing and quieting down the cab with more comfortable seats because most of us that have Van's love to DRIVE ALOT. Makes no sense how such an expensive van has a cab that reminds me of a UHAUL truck with the high and uncomfortable seats and noise level in the cab when driving. They need to come out with a TOURING VAN that drives GREAT, COMFORTABLE, Less road noise and update the 1980 Dashboard! They don't know their audience, they keep putting ridiculous BFG K02 tractor tires on a VAN that has water tanks 6" of the ground! It's just all for looks! Try going off road with Van and rip all your tanks off! They need to think of these Van's as Comfort TOURING Van's with some light driving into some basic dirt or gravel roads and if people want to UPGRADE Tires put on Michelin Cross Climate All Terrain, instead of ridiculous BFG KO2s for looks only, that rid har and loud and are not even supposed to be put on a VAN. I have a 2021 National Park and took those ridiculous tires ( BFG KO2s) come with it. I couldn't stand 1 week driving with them, the van drove awful and the noise level was even worse!! Swapped them out for Michelin AGILIS Cross Climate, it drove 100 times better , less noise and better gas mileage and they have great thread and grip in the road. I'm very happy with the new changes , it just seems like
    Winnebago is not doing their MARKET RESEARCH to find out who , what and why are people choosing these Vans and have options to and floorplans to cater to the specific customers. Just being LAZY, and that means there are plenty other company's that are on WINNEBAGOS HEELS, and they can and will get surpassed by a company who caters to the needs of their customers.

    Wow...it seems to have been "improved" in the aame way they improved the iphone when they took away the headphone jack, or the way they "improved" the samsung phones by sealing the batteries so you couldn't buy an extra battery and the phone died whrn tne battery died.
    This "improving" for the worse seems to be a tendency of the capitalism, to low costs and develop a planned onsolescence that forces customers to keep buying new items.
    So sad, hope that doesn't happens with the storyteller, when the company that build them grows, one can only hold the hope that theh don't become greedy or their accionists do not put pressure to generate bigger earnings AT ANY COST.

    This is a combination of solis and pre-gen travado and you end up with a weird looking and functioning rig. There are so many things wrong with this unit the dinette with two jump seats the table can’t be function like you mention without swirl the seat around and the tv can be turn around to be watch from the bed area maybe? But it just stick out so much and I know you not a big fan of Thor but my tellaro tv when not in use it is flush with the cabinet so not in the way. and the whole Murphy bed system if you compare to solis 59px the whole area looks cluster and messy because of the bathroom. I think winniebago run into identical crisis of the travado 59g and solis 59px it need to make it different from solis not just been a rig without the pop top. They should have just call solis the travado with optional poptop. I think they gonna have solis eating into their own travado market share.
