hi, besides, you have these games that you said in the video, I had to disable the steam input for ni no kuni 2 as well, another thing to disable it, you don't necessarily need a bluetooth controller, I attached a simple PC controller with cable and type-C adapter and it was disabled immediately
@@GrownUpGamingGUG I'll be trying to get out of "docked mode" and just switch to the steam deck screen and see if disabling it works or not. The issue is when I press on disable it nothing happens. It's like clicking on it endlessly.
The funny thing is I've been searching for a solution for days for games like final fantasy 7 rebirth and mirrors edge catalyst but the solution only works if I disable steam input as well as use an xbox controller. It won't work if I use a dualshock 4 controller even if I disable steam input. You can't even begin to imagine the trouble I had to go through to find this solution. I've researched everything from using third party drivers like glossi, scwid, OSOL to manually disabling the steam input through desktop mode by editing the local config file to installing the damn windows 10/11 operating system on the damn steam deck. I was so desperate I even tried messing around with steam link as advised by someone who said it could work. And I even went out of my way to buy a freaking xbox controller just to see if a different controller would work. Nothing worked. People said to disable steam input. Still didn't freaking work. It wasn't until I did BOTH disabling steam input AND connecting the xbox controller did it finally work. And people said the steam deck was a user friendly device. There is nothing user friendly about this thing.
I'm not sure Xbox controller is needed as most controllers are recognised as Xbox controllers when connected to steam deck. But obviously not the dual sense or pro controller. I mean third party controllers like my 8bitdo and beitong controllers.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Yeah I read that steam deck is supposed to be recognized as xinput but for whatever reason I couldn't get the damn controller to work.
Hello bro, I'm on the same path as you. I've literally tried everything you mentioned in your comment (everything). What "worked" for me was connecting the Xbox controller via Bluetooth and then somehow reordering the controls so that the Steam Deck controls start working again. I say it "worked" because, yes, I can turn off Bluetooth, and it keeps working. I can exit the game, and it keeps working. I can move whatever I want, and it still works. But when I restart or switch to desktop mode and come back, poof-the Steam Deck controls stop working again. I don't want to depend on the external controller, but so far, it's the only solution I've found. I'll update you if I manage to fix it! I used a translator for this comment, sorry for my bad England
