Snoof is good but like he's not as op as people seem to think. I have two wins so far and neither involved snoof iirc. I think they did a pretty good job balancing the starter pets overall
@@blahthebiste7924 I assume it has it's pros and cons. It's good if you want to hit other units, and it's bad if you don't wanna hit them (e.g. because of Smackback) plus it's something that can screw with your planning for lethal.

Yeah that's where the real balancing nightmare of the game is. After your 1st win it turns into rock paper scissors. You win with a smackback/teeth build, then you pretty much need to have snow builds to counter that, then you need units that can rush out damage fast with multihits to win before you're snowed over to counter that, then you need smackback/teeth to counter the multihits so they don't rush through your team, so then you need snow again.... This game has a lot of great parts to it, but the final boss being predictable means the player is expected to counter it, which means it's so overstatted that non-counters don't work well, which means you can't just play the deck types you like you have to force whatever counters your next guaranteed final boss. This game would be so much better if you could turn on a purple bell toggle that said "your final boss isn't predictable anymore but has fairer lower stats" and it pulled from more than just your single last run.
I think they really should add an indicator to which enemies are upgraded. All of the misplays in this video were due to not realising the enemies were upgraded. In most games you'd have a outline so at a glance you can see "oh, this enemy that I've learned does one thing now does something else"
Right now the indicator is the charms physically hanging off of them, but yeah that's not enough because you still need to pay real attention to notice it. The in-development patch notes so far in the official discord server say there's going to be an additional indicator added, probably when one spawns in, which should help.

@@nattteo I'm curious why you think this. In my experience, the turn timer is far too long to matter, and it makes it hard to generate combos in early fights. It cripples your early game and offers limited utility in the true late game. Snow is a good effect, and more effects can be added via charms. Charms have twice the efficacy on snoof.
@@nattteo Booshu shines when rng goes your way, any other time snoof is better, even then most of the times any of the other 3 pets are even better then snoof.

There are a lot of units in this game that synergize well with healing. Firefist, bombom, fungun, lil berry, etc etc. There are plenty of units/leaders with 5-6 turn timer, so are they all useless? Nah. And Booshu is 3 hp to *all* units. Is he great in late game? No, but it's pretty easy to replace a unit. Pets aren't meant to be the best units. In comparison to Bonnie, the other healer you can get, Booshu takes two more turns to activate, but he also does 3 damage, meaning his damage can be buffed by cards like molten dip as well. He's pretty good. Booshu defender logged on. That being said I usually take snoof or lil gazi instead :)
@@francesderr3708 most leaders with 5-6 turns have useful effects. Healing 3 hp on a 6 turn cooldown is terrible, and comparing him to the other bad healer doesn't really inspire confidence. You'll miss out on at least 20-30 combo gold by taking booshu. Replacing your pet is usually not that good of a move cause it wastes a resource. The way to win is have a carry damage source plus keep your leader alive. Going wide is a bad idea. Booshu doesn't really help with either. I know you'll say he heals, but I'm mostly gauging things by the true final fight where two hits from the heavy hitters kill most leaders. Some leaders just die in one hit. Healing is not helpful in those scenarios. Anyway, it is just a game, but Booshu hardcore sucks. In comparison to the other options. He sucks in the early game cause of no damage plus the ability to recall units for health, and he sucks in the late game due to not keeping your carry or leader alive effectively. The only time I've ever found him useful was when I had an amazing run with sister berry, and the heart mist station put in more work anyway.

I finally bought the game to see if the game is harder than it looks, or it’s just NL. It’s just NL. (got to final boss run 2 (when you unlock snoof) and beat it run 4🤷)
@@WaterZer0 Booshu is the worst pet in the game. 6 counter and even then if you don't need a heal at the exact moment it triggers you don't get it. The amount of times your unit will die by turn 5 or need healing but not until turn 7 is too high for a heal with a 6 countdown to be relevant.
He's good in summoner and teeth decks since it keeps summons alive indefinitely and counteracts tanked hits. He's best when he's got 5 other allies/summons since that's 3 HP/turn healed on average. Also he is insane with balance charm.
I love this game, but it is REALLLY unforgiving with its RNG sometimes... you can never trust an aimless unit to hit where you want to, so like in most card games you need to rely on targeted effects and cards, or at least make the odds as good as you can.

Teeth is so annoying. Frenzy is such a fun mechanic but then the game tosses you that infuriating Teeth + Aimless Aura encounter.
