the purpose of oiling of the bat is to seal the moisture of the bat. if u doing it after 1 or 2 year when bat is getting dry, that mean its already dried, wont fulfill the purpose of oiling
100 percent you are correct 1-2 years is an exaggerated time. The aim for this information is people are using too much oil and that too. Very early which creates wood decay. You should oil when the bats wood starts drying up and is not completely dried up.
