    Josh I'd love to find out more about wrist circles. Although I can play some advanced pieces I was never taught anything at all about wrist circles and am now without a teacher.
    I read some teachers placing much important on wrist circles... Do any of your videos address the subject?

    Would you recommend playing the Chopin etudes before the ballades?

    • @joshwrightpiano
      @joshwrightpiano  9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes, but start with more basic ones. Avoid playing double thirds or winterwind right away. I like op.25 no.2 and op.10 no.9 to start.

      Josh Wright Do you rate the "wrong note" (don't remember the opus number) as a very hard etude?

    Always remember we must repent of our sins (sin is transgression The Law Of Yahuah The Father in Heaven. The Law are The Books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy). We must repent of our sins and Have Belief On Yahusha The Messiah. HE Died and Rose three days later so that we can be forgiven of our sins!

    How do your videos get so few views while that guy who goes by some name which suggest he studies that baroque guy who wrote a lot of preludes and fugues has so many? Sorry for the run on sentence.

    As someone teaching myself how to play the piano (Starting with To Zanarkand, beautiful piece) this took my brain, asked it what it thought it knew, slapped it across the brain-face before it could answer, and shouted WRONG, then proceeded to show me how physics work in 5 dimensional spaces and how to play the piano a little better.

    Thank you, Josh for your clear instructions. I'm a piano introducing Bach, Beethoven, Chopin and others to my students. My playing and theirs have immediately improved.

    I'd like to hear your thoughts on playing at the higher register (above A2, ish). This has been the biggest technical problem for me, especially when playing in bigger rooms. I feel I'm too conscious about the fact that lower notes have the tendency to overpower the higher ones. I don't trust that the high notes pop out, so I start to overdo ("press") them, which quickly leads to fatigue and all sorts of problems in the right hand. Material like Mozart sonatas/concertos have this effect on me a lot, maybe because I try to avoid pedal a lot and get that glimmering sound. One particular work I'm struggling with on this is the Scherzo from Chopin's op.58. Enjoying your channel!

    I have a question. my teacher said that I need to keep my fingers more on the keys, but you said that I need to jump. so what is right?

    • @bobcrestwood740
      @bobcrestwood740 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jumping is for when you are doing exercises to strengthen your wrists and fingers; keeping your fingers right over the keys is for when you are performing a piece of music.
