Booktube trends that are critical of entire categories of book, rather than celebratory of other categories are the devil. Great video Charlotte, I read lots of new releases and had never heard of Lone Women or The Square of Seven.
Glad you had a great reading year but Cuddy so low down on your list kills me Charlotte!!! 😭 (I know, I know, different tastes, but still…!) Here’s to more reading fun in 2024 🎉
I don't read many new releases, but I don't think it's better or worse. We should all read whatever peaks our interests and makes us happy.😊 The ones that sound the most interesting to me from this list are 'Kala' and 'The City of the Living'. Definitely plan to read those this year. I'm also interested in Laura Shepherd Robinson's books since I love historical fiction, I might pick up one of her books too. My favourite new release was 'The Most Secret Memory of Men' by Mohamed Mbougar Sarr. It's actually a 2021 book, but the English translation was published this year. I read it in Croatian, it was published a few months before the English one. It's also a Goncourt prize winner. Wonderful video! Happy New Year!!🎉
I had the same experience with Yellowface! And I need to get to Study for Obedience after all this talk!
Thank you, Charlotte. I'm going to claim "In Ascension" as my favorite book of 2023. Here's to more in 2024.
Wonderful!
