Great song writer has always had very good musicians playing with him. He is a hard-working musician and will do whatever it takes put on a great show.
Ha. I agree with that wholeheartedly. I have seen him solo, with the orchestra, True Believers, Buick McKane, SOOOO many incarnations. My absolute all time favorite lineup was the "Burns Something Beautiful" band with Peter Buck, Kurt Bloch, Scott MacCaughey, et, but I love what he is doing recently with Scot Danbom (centro-matic, sometimes DBT). I WILL say...he takes his performances personally. I have seen him in a club as small as 300 tell people (specifically call them out) to shut the eff up and in a room as large as 2K (well...THIS room...but not this night...although I was there this night) admonish people for walking out during the middle of a song.
This is absolutely wonderful. Escovedo on great form with a fabulous band (terrific drummer). Great news that Escovedo has a new album out (is Scott Laningham drumming on it? Hope so.) Congratulations to all involved.
We used to stay at that hotel when dealing art in the City...it was cheap, a real step up from the Leo House. And I come back to Alejandro Escovedo many years later via Texas Conjunto and Chicano art... CognoscentiFolkArt.com

RIP Scott. You'll be missed.

Alejandro Escovedo always has a great rock sensibility.
Wow ! My hometown boy ! It doesn't get much better than this from Alejandro. So many layers ... one of the best singer songwriters in Austin, Tejas !

Fantastic! His recent Austin City Limits concert is a blast! Love his music/lyrics!
This is ferocious! Haven't seen him in a few years, since Globalquerque in about '17. He usually comes through NM once a year.
Farout.
Would dig on seeing him.
I live in Ruidoso.

What a lovely comment! Thank you, so much. I'm not on the new record - Burn Something Beautiful - but it is terrific and I highly endorse it. : )

It makes no sense.
It makes perfect sense.
That's my favorite line from this song too. Al loves to play with words. I love "I like her better when she walks away" for the double entendre there
ben ça bouge chez les pépés. super
"No hay que vestir a gritos para cantar elegante"
