When you do the full review, can you please do a little bit of detail on the stylus? Responsiveness, pressure sensitivity curve, etc. a previous model of theirs was almost my dream machine a few years ago, but I had to take it back because of how trash it's pen support was. As a digital artist, I'd love to see more of that, and almost nobody ever goes in to any detail beyond "It's got a stylus" :)
It's stylus response is good but not as polished as the surface pro 7. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it for a digital artist but since I'm not an artist I'd recommend that you try it out in your nearest Best Buy.
Big big fan of the different editing style here ❤️ Wasn't really loving the short circuit format of just running off-the-cuff less scripted content straight through, the more jump cut vlog style editing makes a big difference to the delivery, especially with a (no offense) slightly less natural or charismatic presenter like Alex compared to Linus. My hubby just bought it for me yesterday and I am in love! I immediately called my dad since he's a software developer and he was so jealous because he said it was one of the best laptops in the market right now. I am guilty of saying I just choose it because of the looks, it looks classy and exclusive with the rose gold accents contrasting black, Love every feature of it!
Even purely based on design language alone, the HP just knocks it out of the park. So refreshing to have something that just looks and feels different than the rest of the current market offerings.
I have an older x360, it should really be called "overrated". It is just a brand name slapped on a standard subpar laptop speaker. The new one may be improved over the model from 3 years ago, but it is still just a regular quality laptop speaker with a label put on it.
Great review/Pre-review! It's refreshing to have someone not actually drone on about the actual functionality of a laptop, tablet, or PC and strictly focus on feelings and sensations. Though I am a little disappointed that after being consumed by the immense gravitational pull of a fairly substantial vacuum affect you have somehow incorporated into this exploration into the pre-topical insights of the external relevance of perspective, and in that clearly layout everything anyone would need to know about how the key elements surrounding the words related to nearly every other aspect of the observable elements a person might experience if holding an object ranging from similar to dissimilar while practicing any form of thinking and/or breathing. Yes Sir, people would be hard pressed to adequately relate or compare this "review/pre-review" to any other channels review of anything from stereos, run-on-sentences, potato-salad, milking machines, eyelid piercings, or even "How to use Peanut-butter to encourage good behavior in uncontrollable pets and teenagers.". Speaking of which; I look further to more consequential in-depth surface-scratching. By the way, Those Curtains, oh my god! oh my god! oh my god!...LOVE EMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Wasn’t Linus nick picking about every little thing like the charger plug placement (even though on this video, it’s a plus), on the older version of this laptop? And allot of the comments were disagreeing with Linus
It is a trade off. Being anywhere facing the back means it gets damaged if you lift the laptop. But it keeps it off the side where your mouse goes. Magnetic breakaway cables are all the rage, and they do take care of that issue.
I bought the 15 inch version last autumn and I'm very unhappy with it. So far, I came across several issues and their customer service is basically non existent. These issues include flickering in the screen from time to time, light beams coming out from the bottom of the screen when woken up from sleep (not bleed in), overheating and turning off and blue screen of death, sometimes even when the laptop is idle. And despite all these, HP refused to replace my unit let alone a refund. I ended up sending the unit to their repairs centre and they ended up sending it back to me after a week's time UNTOUCHED which was later confirmed by HP. I brought all of these up to their customer service and their solution for it was offering me a complimentary keyboard and mouse. FOR REAL. I was super excited when I bought the laptop due to it's design and premium feel and etc. But HP ISNT A PREMIUM BRAND - DO NOT RECOMMEND. Oh by the way, they didnt even provide me with a replacement unit when my unit was out in their repairs centre. 7 months later I'm still trying to get it sorted out. I could have flushed £1500 down the toilet...

Fixed all the complaints...said my 1month old Spectre x360 that crashed/random shutdown on a daily basis. Actually in process of returning to HP to fix right now.
I am currently using an old HP Pavilion laptop. Good, solid machine. Has never let me down. Have replaced HD with SSD and put the old drive in the CD slot using an adapter. Since I bought he HP I have been through 2 Microsoft Surface Pro tablets, SP3 and SP4 with add-on keyboard. The first Surface Pro failed during the extended warranty and the second failed during the Microsoft warranty. Now using a SP5 but it's demoted to third place among my machines. My old Pavilion laptop is still my workhorse. Have traveled with it over half of Asia. Now with the new SSD it's faster than ever. I have been looking for a used one same as this old Pavilion, because most people who own big laptops like the Pavilion have not spent many hours on their machines. Onboard battery cheap and not too difficult to replace.
LTT probably has some of its workers working from home because of the current virus. They may not have access to the same quality hardware at home that they do at work, or at least that's the rumor around this youtube section. Personally, I don't think Linus would make such an oversight of not just letting his workers take home some premium editing monitors for the time being. So if they weren't allowed to take any color correct monitors home, it was probably an intentional decision made in caution against any of that hardware being damaged while away from work. I think some of that stuff can cost 10,000s of CAD. But again, this is all just rumor mongering and as far as I know Linus nor anyone else associated with LTT have given an official statement on why some of their videos have been looking weird as of late.
@A Wolf that loves to howl so hp does budget pcs and sucks at doing high end pcs. I'd rather get the zephyreus g14 or the dell xps for about 500 dollars more
@A Wolf that loves to howl i had a low end hp laptop about 4-5 years back and, right out of the box, it had screen and touchpad issues.. it didn't age well and was an absolute nightmare to use towards the end.. my current laptop is a specced out hp probook x360.. it overheats like shit and the gpu is really underwhelming.. the speakers are great though xD. I've had this one for about one and a half and the experience I've had with hp products makes me insanely reluctant to look at any hp model.. even most of my friends have had issues with hps. Not saying that every laptop they make is garbage, but i would rather go for the 2020 xps lineup, even after knowing about the trackpad issues the early products, if i had to choose between Dell and HP..
This laptop is still going super strong in 2023 for my usage as a travelling musician/chorist. It handles my notation softwares and is not too painful to use to lightly edit videos on the go. It looks really good, plus, I can play Steam games on it, no problem :D It beats the iPads of my colleagues in that aspect.
1:26 . yes being a HP employee we work on new designs / models. but understand arranging service becomes really tough for such compact elite premium units.
We have two of these at our Best Buy showroom. Both of them had overheating issues, causing them to turn themselves off and not turn back on unless kept unplugged for a little while. (which may have been resolved because we haven't seen it in a couple of months) it doesn't pass the one hand opening test, and we find the speakers to be relatively unimpressive. They are down firing. I think HP did a lot right here, and with some minor tweaks I think it can shape up to be a 10/10 in the future. P.S. it fits in a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 sleeve because its basically the same size since the surface has bigger bezels.

My last gen Spectre X360 complete died about two months outside of warranty. Motherboard fried, which was weird because I haven't dropped it once, kept ALL liquids away from it. I have never been so careful with a product because I spent over a thousand dollars on it! HP has one of the most difficult ways to try and contact the company directly for repair (although they do direct you to a lot of smaller computer repair businesses, which is nice). They have a lot of troubleshooting procedures on the site, which may help most-- and is nice-- but in my case, none worked. Idk.. I loved the laptop while it was working, but now, I'm too afraid to get another one of their products. 😕
My dad has one of these and he loves it... As far as keyboards go.. There is no other laptop that feels as good to me as the professional HP level keyboards.. Been loving them since the 2012 elitebooks..

Im surprised he didn't try it in tablet mode by flipping the display all the way back.
2020: HP The laptop has a preinstalled battery. Apple's batteries sold separately.
Big big fan of the different editing style here ❤️
Wasn't really loving the short circuit format of just running off-the-cuff less scripted content straight through, the more jump cut vlog style editing makes a big difference to the delivery, especially with a (no offense) slightly less natural or charismatic presenter like Alex compared to Linus. Hopefully it doesn't kill the benefits to you guys of faster cheaper production
Alex! You're a great personality on this show - great job.

Hey I’m wondering if you find that you’re having problems with the fan noise?
Even purely based on design language alone, the HP just knocks it out of the park. So refreshing to have something that just looks and feels different than the rest of the current market offerings.
the gold and the keyboard looks awful compared to dell's design. The logo is awesome tho
When he pulled the folio case out I thought it was the laptop and was like wtf, why is it bending like that?
Can someone tell him it's Bang and OLUFSEN. Not Bang and Old full send lol
It's bang pop and clang
I have an older x360, it should really be called "overrated". It is just a brand name slapped on a standard subpar laptop speaker. The new one may be improved over the model from 3 years ago, but it is still just a regular quality laptop speaker with a label put on it.
I've never encountered a AAAA battery I thought he meant a AAA there you go such an informative video lol
Did you guys record this is 2001? 😂 the drapes make it look 4:3.
I wish Dell would put in an effort to design their business line. They’ve been doing black plastic for far too long.
xCAETUSx the EliteBook 840 G5 (their flagship business notebook) is made of magnesium.
The Spectre looks amazing. The price is what keeps me away.

(Love this damn thing)
Ah yes, the famous bang ofulsen!
We didn't like the charger placement on the 15" because it made the power button hard to hit. Was fine with it on the 13".
It is a trade off. Being anywhere facing the back means it gets damaged if you lift the laptop. But it keeps it off the side where your mouse goes. Magnetic breakaway cables are all the rage, and they do take care of that issue.
@@LinusTechTips ohh ok that makes sense
No AMD 4000 CPUs in these? Deal breaker big time for me.
Cool story
Great honest review

I'll wait the comparison between dell xps 2020, macbook air 2020 e hp specre x360! Excellent work!
ANY new laptop: comes out
Alex: XPS
Fixed all the complaints...said my 1month old Spectre x360 that crashed/random shutdown on a daily basis. Actually in process of returning to HP to fix right now.
If we humans are already carrying our mobile everywhere, I don't understand the appeal of LTE on laptops when we have a hotspot
It’s fine if you don’t use your laptop a lot, but for mobile workers (eg students, business users) hot spotting drains your phone’s battery big time.
Goes to hp website to look it up
"Generic system error"

love the review, but why are his hands so red?

Title: Hp actually listened!!
Me: no.. wait that's illegal
When he flunged the dell my heart literally dropped.
I feel like Dell XPS is the right choice. Dunno why but yeah..
because hp is absolute garbage
Cosmical I do agree
It is. But personally when spending close to 2 grand on a Laptop, I want it to look different and not like the ideal laptop.
I just bought the hp a month ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. USB-A is really nice to have.
That occasional vertical letterboxing of a frame looks strange
It's the drapes behind him.
1:24 What do you mean Alex? You can literally see HP cut corners *(bu-dum-ts)*
1:26 . yes being a HP employee we work on new designs / models.
but understand arranging service becomes really tough for such compact elite premium units.
Hey, the first laptop that's made me consider upgrading from my 9350.
Edit: glossy 1080p screen. Nope.
Go for the Elitebook they are matt and everything is better about them compared to the Spectre.
Elitebook 1030 G4 with SureView if your want 120hz screen.
When can we see some $500-$800 laptop reviews?
My first reaction this morning was OMG THAT LAPTOP IS BENDY

Nah fam I get notifications 1/10 times from channels I'm subbed to, and random ones from channels I'm not. The bell should give you notifications but I don't even trust that with all TH-cam's BS
Video's more like HP actually filled my pocket!!😂
This pc is so good that this vid sounds like an add lol
Hey everybody criticizing the curtains red hands and cameras. You have to remember shooting is probably all out of sorts along with editing since most of the staff isn't at the office and might've had to split up some of the equipment. I'm sure they're doing what they can.
“Bang and Ofulson” I think you mean Olufson...
😕
8:00 so nobody is going to talk about that horrible light reflection from the HP??

He never did a full review 🙄
got probably dropped when covid restrictions came in
My dad has one of these and he loves it...
As far as keyboards go.. There is no other laptop that feels as good to me as the professional HP level keyboards.. Been loving them since the 2012 elitebooks..
I am watching this on the 15 inch model
How is it? I'm thinking of getting it and am about to head off to college after this school year. I've been looking in some stores and it seems really solid, albeit expensive
The overhead view makes it his hands look like a zombie is using the laptop lol

I have the HP Spectre x360 13 (2018 model) which I use as my daily driver .... I am really happy that HP finally removed the huge bezels (which I hate about my Laptop) ..... However, I just wish that HP somehow manages to bring the Front-firing speakers back (which I love0 in the 2021 model .... The Tablet mode & the Stylus Pen seem to be just a gimmick. I hardly ever used them maybe 10 times in the 2 years I had this Laptop ....
I've never understood why having a SIM slot in a laptop was desirable. Almost all moving phones can be turned into WiFi hotspots. No second sim/plan needed.
I've always LOVED that blackened bronze finish on the Spectre. It looks SO DAMN GOOD.
Quick question, does HP spectre 360 has a keyboard light?
Yes it does. It's like a blueish/white light that comes on whenever you type. It's really nice!
But unfortunately it turns off after 30 seconds and there is no way of changing that.
