I absolutely love this recording. It captures the enjoyment that is the real Panorama. This is no “greens” panorama. No DJ playing the a$$. Sweet pan and everybody enjoying the song and the vibes at the same time! Gold! Gold! I miss home

this is something all those young pan players knows nothing about, this was my first introduction to Trinidad carnival and pan, those were days when you came into the Savannah playing and rolling, you played the tune over and over while rolling, when you get to the stage and you played once the tune was finished you did not stop you roll of playing all the way out the exit.
those days it was grass on the track, today bands go and hide all in the Savannah you have to go looking for them, they stay in some hole and play, when they come out on the track they stand up and play, you never see bands rolling and playing no more so young ppl knows nothing about playing your pan dancing between racks and moving.
so sad every good thing about trinidad carnival has been taken away, those basses are loud because the way the music was arranged you play both notes, the high and low notes as it was called walking bass, it also drove the tempo along, now you see bass players play fighting to reach notes, plus you cant double the notes no more so the basses sound very light as you have to play one note,
if only we can return for carnival this sort of jam why at carnival you hear bands pleying festive type music? lets go back to jamming
