LOL, the failed attempted grab for the new knife at 8:43 has me cracking up! A knife sooo nice Tony the owner wasn't ready to hand it over. Microtech Vibes.
Maybe next they can make an Ultratech that doesn’t stop working because a tiny piece of debris gets into the spring and I won’t have to send it back 3 times in 2 years for repair.
Counter argument, I build yachts and the blade being off center is a reason I use it because I can get into tighter places on one side of the knife with out scratching a finish on the boat. D/E allows me to cut any direction. A knife like a pm2 is great but when I need to get more than half the blade into a spot the handle gets in the way. Add a rag to that thickness and it stacks up. 😅 looks wise I agree with you
That's about the best answer to criticism that can be given. Not like we've seen in the past years a few times with some guy leading brands as known/big as Microtech. Kudos to them, really strong position ! They had to work their butts and heads off to reach it, but that's how you stay on top, even when you created this hill.
Hell yes there is something special and very fitting with a Dirac in black and bronze or gold maybe it seems like a gentleman's carry size/type of knife
Never have I've seen another knife company start calling other companies copycats and discussing IP infringement. Every other company has praised others for developing and innovating on the various mechanics of a knife. That was one of the breaths of fresh air in this industry. Sad to see that positive aspect gone. Kept watching. Can't even finish the video at this point 6:26. Just obnoxious.
@@RagingUtai Did he pay royalties to knife companies he mentioned at the beginning that inspired him as a child? I'm not sure I'm following the point on this.
That's great, Tony says "All you assholes that knocked off my other knives go ahead and try it again . There are 7 patents and I will sue you into extinction " Kudos to Microtech for innovating.
A certain level of toughness, resilience, arrogance, business acumen as well as a whole host of other skills and traits must be incorporated for a business just to survive! Let alone progress as far as Microtech has over the years On top of that Tony (& all his employees) are human so nothing’s perfect and mistakes will happen. (As with every single manufacturer I’m aware of, including Apple). It seems people don’t pay attention to this. Regardless, I assume the Glykon will also be updated? Was gonna get one shortly but think I’ll hold off for now…
I get it,Microtech has been the industry leader in OTFs for years now..with that being said,my Hogue Exploit is and always has been functionally superior to all 3 of my Microtech OTFs..I’m liking the new Ultratech a lot though,I look forward to getting one
Guardian Tactical made the easy deploy action….. DO NOT FORGET them in this butt kissing Microtech video….good grief…..not to mention much less money for better quality AND customer service. Good luck with Microtech customer service…..hahahahaahhahahahaha
I'm a little scared of this type of knife. I'm afraid that it might open itself in my pocket. If anyone has one, can you explain to me why this is unlikely?
It depends mostly on the action of the OTF- a single action will only fire out and you have to manually retract it, and they can be dangerous if they go off in your pocket because of how strong the springs can be A double action will go out and back using the slide, and if it hits something on the way out, it kinda just stops and doesn't really do anything
@papasauce234 nice explanation. If I can add one thing concerning d/a otfs to the op. It's that the spring has near no tension and must be tensioned to actually shoot out. Without moving that switch forward it is completely inert and locked "closed". Super safe design.
I’ve carried Hogue,Microtech and Benchmade OTFs for years and never had one open on accident.the switch requires a bit of pressure to get it to fire.its not hard to open by any means but it won’t open in your pocket
Now they just need a locking mechanism in both open and closed and I will pick one up. I love the action on otf knives, but the lack of a lock makes me look elsewhere every time.
The owner calls is a ZDP... cant even get his own products name correct. Dude threatens litigation on social media if hes made fun of. Pathetic and will never buy the junk they make
I used to always say it is a otf auto they all have blade play. Not anymore. What a time to be alive.

Good catch, lol
At this point we expect a higher standard of excellence any time Tony comes out with a new knife for sale and he never disappoints
He's intense! I love it, that's why so successful. Culture cascades down from the top and shows itself in the product.

My Hogue Exploit is a better functioning OTF than the 3 Microtechs I currently own
a split 2 peice soft silicone seal at the opening would work I think
The man is a Legend. Marfione is the best.
Very cool conversation with a legend. I need to save up for one of those Microtechs.
Such great insight! I love videos like this. Great work!
I want that full serrated edge. Will preorder
I'm all in for a ZBT Scarab 2!!! If you build it they will buy it!
Now get the blade centered in the handle

STOP MAKING THE STEEL SO SOFT!!!
Yep. That's what they do with their heat treatment protocols since... forever? My poop is sometimes harder than their blades.

You guys need an in-stock email option on your website.
Mr. Marfione is awesome.
It nice to ear the Microtech guy. But we would like to see a few new models ..! ^^
Dirac Delta with ZBT and easy deploy button, in black and bronze

It's called inovation and doing something different. Did those knife makers who got rich copying pay any royalties as a thank you to him?

Chad Tony and Nice Guy David… future podcast collab ?
Tony plz do another run of the DOC with the new clip style. That would be amazing
That's great, Tony says "All you assholes that knocked off my other knives go ahead and try it again . There are 7 patents and I will sue you into extinction "
Kudos to Microtech for innovating.
Microtech or the first OTF where the blade is not moving ..! ^^
Center aligned blade is the pinnacle of an ultimate OTF. Still room for improvement.
Guys... Just wondering...
How come there is no Kershaw or Zero Tolerance at SS? Or maybe there is no coverage of them? What the hell?
KC did just have a Kershaw/ZT specific new knives video like 2 weeks ago... maybe they didn't have anything newer than that to show at Shot Show 🤷♂️
They already revealed their new knives before the Shot Show, so there's no point in showing them again.
Kershaw no longer has a booth at SHOT Show, which is why we showcased their new offerings before the show
Way ask for no blade play. We got them ..! ^^
Okay, Microtech stay at the first place. But i like very much the Maxace to. And now, the Chinese start to make some. Like CRKT ..! ^^
I have to say i bought a Combat troodon clone for 45 box ..! ^^

I'm not sure why but Tony rubs me the wrong way. Feels a little big for his britches. Just a little, Microteach has earned bragging rights but still.
