This is so helpful. I bought a wonderful book that is using Reeves watercolors, and their peach is used a lot. I looked up how to mix because I have a lot of very nice artist grade watercolors (including Daniel Smith), and found red and yellow are used to create peach. But, I can see where adding white is needed, as well.
Sure! For the first color combination, Ashley uses a warm red + warm yellow, which are Daniel Smith's Pyrrol Scarlet and New Gamboge. In the second color combination, she uses a cool red + cool yellow, which are Quinacridone Rose and Hansa Yellow Light. Then she adds the Arteza Titanium White to both. Hope that helps!
I tried to recreate the peach color while I was watching and I ended up with a mixture that looked similar.. (Benzimidazolone Yellow, Quin. Magenta, a touch of Cadmium Orange and I added some water to the mixture)
So was it a a cooler yellow that you used (with that initial mid-warm red, it looks like?) to make that second, more muted orange with your Daniel Smith paints?
This is one of the best tutorials on mixing peach. Most of us have never heard of Reeves watercolors and didn’t know this shade of peach exsisted!
It's a lovely color! Glad the video was helpful 🙂
I love your classes, thank you so much💫
Thanks, Karla!

Just found your channel, I really love it because I am just starting watercolor.
Thanks, Karen!
Thank you so much for this video. I loved learning how to make peach.
Glad you enjoyed it, Diane!
Hi! Could you tell us what DS colors you used to make the peach? Then add the titanium white.

That's great, Christine! It's amazing how many different color combinations can get you to peach!

Yes, for the second variation Ashley mixed a cool yellow. The red was also a bit cooler than the first red that she uses.
