DIY Easy And Simple Macrame Dreamcatcher For Beginner | Macrame Tutorial

A few days ago, I got a request from a friend to make a simple Dreamcatcher as a gift. For that I took the time to make a video tutorial to be shared with all who need it. As the title implies, this Dreamcatcher design is very simple and doesn't take long to make. It only took me less than an hour to complete. I made this Simple Macrame Dreamcatcher with a gray theme. I used two strap colors, dark gray and light gray.
Below are the sizes of the rope and other complementary materials.
1. Iron ring / wooden ring with a diameter of 3.5 cm
2. Rattan ring 25 cm diameter
3. Cotton rope 3 mm 2 colors, sizes:
dark gray, 16 strands, cut 70 cm long (to make a net on the rattan ring)
dark gray, 33 strands, cut 150 cm long
light gray, 4 strands, cut 100 cm long
light gray, 5 strands, cut 200 cm long (to make spiral knots)
light gray, 5 strands, cut into 25 cm long (to make Ghatering knots)
The knots used: Larks Head Knot, Square Knot, Gathering Knot, Double Half Hitch Knot. If you are unfamiliar with these knots, you can learn about them in my previous video on Macrame Basic Knots.

I used a 30cm ring (cause 25 wasnt available), for the web i should have used 90cm strings and do an extra round of square knots (?) but all the other stuff could be applied the same way.

I am a beginner in macrame and I wanted to make this dream catcher because it says that it's easy and simple for beginners. So I got the whole middle done and it was so beautiful I couldn't even believe wow I was so excited and then I hooked it to the 25 cm hoop and it was all secure and everything and the minute that I went to go and cut it okay this is okay I'm supposed to glue these pieces as instructed. Well I tell you I brought out the glue and I cut and glued the pieces together like I was supposed to and I ruined the whole thing. I don't know what you did to make it lay down like that but when I glued it it certainly wasn't like that at all and I had to throw the whole thing out. I learned a lot from you and I appreciate it so much thanks for your lesson but I guess I'll have to find another dream catchers somewhere where I don't have to cut and glue because it doesn't work like you showed that it does. By the time I was through ruining my whole piece I was so disappointed and I had the glue all over everything. So anybody that is trying this for the first time be careful and all I can say is I hope it works for you. Because it sure did not work for me

3mm twisted or single strand ? Is it not too thin
In this video, I use 3 mm twisted. You can change it by 4mm if you like.

I am confused.. I took 11 cords 120 cms each, i am being left with an extra cord when doing the 2 nd row of square knots. Could you suggest please

Di video saya pakai tali dengan ukuran lebih panjang, kak. Makanya sisanya tampak lebih banyak. Tapi untuk keterangan di bahan, saya sesuaikan dengan bahan yang terpakai saja, biar pas (gak ada sisa). Saya coba bikin ini sudah 2x, dengan ukuran 70 cm cukup koq kak. Pakai ring rotan yg diameter 25 cm.
