I've been sharing Asa's music for four years now. Back then, no one in the US had heard of her. I keep sharing. She's going to be a global SuperStar. I just know it.
when I first heard thus song as a kid i didn't understand it, it was just another song that played on the television and got stuck in my head but this morning I'm listening to it feel sorry for ignorance
I agree Obioma! I was just about to post the same thought. I hope the poor souls afflicted with hearing impairment get treatment soon! This is a superb song, from a truly great singer.
I came to find solace after the death of Deborah (in Sokoto) and Dave (in Lagos). This is an evergreen reference to the truth in Nigeria. Thank you Asa. #JusticeForDeborah #JusticeForDave
A true prophet. She did warn us about our over reliance on oil 'One day the river will overflow'. This is what we are experiencing today. The river is overflowing and we dont have a place to run to.
I was in sixth form college with a niece of fela also the daughters of Obasanjo abiola seraki etc,, I heard them playing fela,I loved it ,they were surprised but he went on to be very popular in uk
Please bring the song back because it makes me cry, just listening to something similar and it just jogged my memory to come back to this song. I miss you.
My brother was working out in Malawi and came back home insisting that we listen to this song. He felt so strongly about what Asa was singing about in this song. He died a few years later... we're now in 2020 facing this pandemic and my mum said the other day that my brother and I guess Asa was trying to tell us something. There is Fire on the mountain. And no one is running. Most people in my neighbourhood aren't taking this virus seriously. Even though people are contracting and dying all around us.
The time will come, we will look behind us and find out we left this song and we will go back and pick it up and the whole world will listen to it with us for as the fire grow bigger this will be our anthem of awareness.
Rahmat Adejumo here in Nigeria, I wish we have someone like Trump, who truly loves his country. You Americans should wake up and support your President and stop watching Saturday night laughs and CNN brainwashing you to hate your President. You guys are so ignorant.
VICTOR OCHI I understand we need a good president in Nigeria, but not someone like trump I wonder the qualities you see in him to make you think he is the best, yes he is helping the country in some ways so is Buhari,we need a president with good intentions and love for the country as well as the people... Buhari and Trump are not one of those

Asa's First Album "Asha" remains her best body of work till date and Fire on the Mountain & Eye Adaba are my favorite songs off the album. Before Nigerian music became mainstream, i remember walking into a Starbuck here in Canada and hearing our music, it blew my mind. This was 2010
I’m afraid I am late in finding this amazing naija artist. I discovered Brymo and now her. So glad I did. Can’t believe I was walking this art without knowing her amazing music.
by this Asa was a prophet, she passed the message of military brutality as we have recently witnessed on the 20th October, 2020 at Lekki Toll gate massacre. She saw the future, and more is still coming from this mountaintop.
After watching ur live performance on NNPC Relaunch; I had to come back to play the full song cos I know some vital part of the lyrics are missing. God bless you for this powerful message ASA🙏
2023, I just downloaded her albums(old and new) after seeing her new song Ocean and remembering ASA from "jailer" from my kid days. What a good decision that was
Grammies should be given , the song and the music video are two different masterpieces , this is the definition of underrated . ASA speaking for Current Nigerian scenery still from 12 years ago???...damn 🧎
There is fire on the mountain, And nobody seems to be on the run. Oh there is fire on the mountain top, And no one is a running. I wake up in the morning Tell you what I see on my TV screen I see the blood of an innocent child, And everybody's watching. Now, I'm looking out of my window, And what do I see? Could it be love for your country, Or for the gun you use in killing? So, There is fire on the mountain, And nobody seems to be on the run. Oh there is fire on the mountain top, And no one is a running. Hey, Mister lover man! Can I get a chance to talk to you? 'Cause you are fooling with a dead man's corpse, And you don't know what you do. Oh So little Lucy turns sixteen, And like the movie she's been seeing, She has a lover in her daddy. She can't tell nobody 'Till she makes the evening news. For there is fire on the mountain, And nobody seems to be on the run. Oh there is fire on the mountain top, And no one is ah running. Oh yes. I heard this song from a documentary called "This is My Africa". I'm so glad to have watched that beautiful doc. This is a great song btw. This makes Africa more dignified with beauty, culture, and spirituality, instead of the crap that's it's only a third world civilization.
you can't truly appreciate yourself until you appreciate the beauty in others, i feel sad that a lot of people refuse to see this and they waste their precious time hating others, all i pray is that one day they will understand
Asa God bless you so great dear sis. I have always loved you, your songs and I will forever love “Asa and Asa sings” Am so proud of you dear sis. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤❤❤❤ LOVE you

Asa warned us here in Nigeria with this beautuiful song 5 years ago but still...... God please save Nigeria!
I thought about that listening to it today. " Til she makes the even news."
This song was 10 years ago
Nigerians are their own worst enemy. The government sales to the highest bidder, while oppressing its people.
God helps those whom help themselves.
I always refer to her. And this track.

It's October 2024.
There's still fire on the mountain and no one is running.
Stuff is happening and it seems nothing is happening.
146 people that dislike this are surely deaf 'cause this song is outta this world!
prob just people still trying to justify, to themselves, going to "fight wars" believing they saving their own country.
loved this song ever since i first heard it
