You're welcome! I agree, it is hard to tell the small differences from a digital color chip. I like to put the swatches up next to each other to see how they look together too. I've been using only liquid swatches for years, but some of the newer colors I've been buying are intended only for ice dyeing. I decided to take some time and make a complete set of ice dyed swatches. It was quite a bit of work, but I think it's totally worth it. I thought they might be helpful to someone else, so I decided to share them. 🙂
Thank u so much Angie, this really helps me sooo much!!! One thing I’ve noticed there r not that many greys! Which grey do u recommend that doesn’t split much from any of the dye companies??? Again thank u so much 😊
You are so welcome! I think that Neutral Gray from Pro Chemical doesn't have many splits. Also Iron Gray from Dyespin and Silver Lining from Dharma. Silver Lining is very light though. On some of my ice dyes it has almost disappeared, so you might avoid that one if you want it to stand out. I usually use it on geodes where it can get lost and still be fine. 🙂
Thank you, Angie! (I think) I have all the dark horse dye colors and some of the regular die colors, but you have some here I'd like to try. I have a crazy amount of dye already. I don't *need* more! But since when has need ever stopped me? Haha! Seriously, I have to wait, I don't have any more room. Thank you for sharing this valuable resource!
You're welcome! I don't need more either, but a girl's gotta have choices. 😄 Making all the ice dyed swatches, I found several colors that I didn't realize were as cool as they are. I'm determined to use some of my rarely used colors.
This was so helpful! Thank you!! For the dark horse swatches you said you did 2 of because of it being super hot...are they the ones on the left or the right?
Funny, I just received my latest Dyespin dye order and only 1 color - Mystical - is on that list. I needed more Fire Yellow, and ordered Rose Red and Amethyst as well. I also got some sinew and the small metal funnel set (actually only for the smallest funnel; it fits the precision tip bottles perfectly!)
That is funny. I have quite a few of their reds, but not Rose Red. I think Mystical is a really cool color. I started out buying dyes from Dyespin that I thought would split for ice dyeing. I really love their dyes though and would love to expand my collection. The metal funnel set sounds like it is a great purchase. My precision bottles came with a small clear plastic funnel, but it is easy to overlook since it is clear. The metal one would be nice.
@@FunEndeavors The metal one has a bigger cone and longer spout, which I like and think will perform better than the plastic one. I got one of those plastic funnels with my precision bottles. For the dyes, I do like the Fire Yellow for my Campfire shirts. The Amethyst looks like a really cool purple and I have a couple of items going using that and the Rose Red. I will post pictures one the are done.
You have the most comprehensive dye swatch lists out there, Angie. Thank you so much for sharing. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you! I do have a bit of a collection. I hope you have a wonderful day too! 😀

beautiful colors Angie! thank you for sharing. it's definitely an easier choice looking at swatches vs a digital color.

@FunEndeavors I have a few things tied up to dye today, and that's my plan as well. Use some colors I've been neglecting.

You're welcome! The ones I made when it was really hot are on the left side. 😀

@@twistedkittyyoga8546 Yes, I'm sure the metal funnel is much better. I'm not a big fan of the plastic one. I can't wait to see your shirts. 😀
