The fact that Ronan could even withstand the energy when he puts it in his hand shows you he def wasn't just some dude, he was someone of great power, and he was a decent villain imo, his motives were clear and his resolve was absolute!!!..

If it wasn’t for the guardians he would’ve put some pressure on Thanos.
He's one of the better villains that the MCU has had, I was sorry to see him go'/!!!
I liked this scene a lot for some reason. If I had to guess, I'd say it's because you could feel the anger and belittling Ronan went through in his dealings with Thanos. That "you call me boooyyy?!" felt like it was coming from the heart with vengeance and hatred.
One personal opinion is that vengeance and hate is what got Ronan killed, as for Thanos is the complete opposite. Thanos was empathetic with many characters in infinity war and didn't overestimate his power nor underestimate his opponents, which makes Thanos a very well written villain who even managed to succeed in the end; they had to make another movie for the Avengers' redemption.
It's almost as if Lee Pace is literally the best actor on the planet. 😊Which he is..
I also like that it mostly seems to annoy Thanos. He's simply not very afraid - he just watches, then hangs up, confident in knowing he can probably still take Ronin, and that dying trying is kind of why he was built. After all, if he dies here, Arishem will just make another Thanos.

We still didn't get enough of her when she talked to Gamora about her past with Thanos ripping her eye, brain, and arm; trying to turn her just like her.

@@Kyle-gu3ge Not based on what they've showed us. Drax was able to hurt Thanos. He didn't lay a finger on Ronan. I get that Drax fought 1v3 at the time so that's a big advantage, but he physically wasn't capable of hurting Ronan whereas Thanos responded in pain and agitation to his attack.
I think the two are extremely close at base. Thanos hits harder. Ronan is more durable.
Underrated villain. Ronan is honestly one of the better villains in the MCU because he perfectly captures how someone who’s vengefully insane can progressively get more scary to watch

He was actually strong in this version and dealt serious damage to the Nova Core and nearly destroyed Xandar. The big talk is factual because he was even known for killing a lot of known planets under Thanos command and was the only one among his minions to actually threaten him when he had the power to face him. Only thing that stopped him was trickery.

The infinity stones are a kind of cosmic magic that's too great for mortals to handle, so they need to be embeded into inanimate objects to be used. The power of the Living Tribunal is embeded in a staff, the mind stone is embeded in a spear, etc. This was mentioned in Dr.Strange
and the infinity gauntlet was the best because it could let the user harness the stone's powers to its full potential

Na...it is viewing this as checkers when in that plot universe Thanos was playing chess...consider for a moment, Thanos KNEW and wanted the villains to do exactly what they did, get power hungry and turn on him...what does that do? Gets the spotlight on them as the antagonist which gets them killed while doing the exact thing he dispatched them to do which is retrieve the stones for him...by the time anyone considered Thanos was the actual threat he had collected multiple stones...those betrayals were a PART of the plan all along

Ronan, The accuser/ Lee Pace, did more justice in representing the Kree than the entire Captain Marvel movie. The Kree is just so much more, the war of Kree and Skrull needs to be something of a autobot decepticon war.

The power stone was the ONE thing he needed before he could start moving on to the other stones. That's why he didn't start collecting them before, he wanted to make sure he knew where they all were AND most importantly he needed the power stone first, cause whoever has that thing, can still stop him.
I’d like to point out Ronan couldn’t take Xandar even with the power stone while Thanos took Xandar while they had the power stone and he had none.
Well he does have a big army and the rest of the black order at his disposal so it would be a walk in the park especially when Ronan weakened the Nova Core and Xandar with there attack

The MCU nerfed Thanos into the dirt. In the comics he has a whole host of abilities we never see him use in the movies. In the films hes basically the hulk body with caps strategic mind and fighting ability and tonys intelligence. Thats it. Ronan with the power stone would have killed him. Hands down.

It's only today that I realize that the French dubbing of this movie misses a big element: Thanos keeps calling Ronan "boy" and he hates it. In the French translation they always used another word, and made up a brand new sentence instead of "you call me boy", it meant something like "you won't give me orders now".

Ronan the Accuser actually accomplished something that Loki failed to achieve in The Avengers (2012); complete his objective of getting an infinity stone for Thanos, while Loki failed to conquer Earth with help from the Chitauri and get the space stone for Thanos due to the actions of the Avengers, Ronan achieved in getting the power stone for Thanos due to the actions of Drax the Destroyer (Ronan killed Drax's wife and daughter leaving the Kylosian wanting revenge on the Kree for doing so.) on Knowhere. But Ronan kept the power stone to himself instead of giving it to Thanos to destroy Xander and later use it to kill and overthrow Thanos. If Loki did achieve in getting the space stone and conquering Earth in The Avengers (2012) would he have done something similar; would Loki have given Thanos the space stone like they agreed or would Loki have kept the infinity stone to himself like Ronan did and used it to kill and overthrow Thanos?

"Creatures of extraordinary strength" is a pretty broad term. Whomever has Will, Intellect, Courage, or some other virtue in a greater-than-average quantity seems to be what's required.
