What’s the argument about? The rule is clear: *The ball is dead once umpire has made a decision.* That is what happened. Arguing won’t change the history or facts. South African team also have same rule-book. So they assumed that the ball is dead and it doesn’t matter even if it goes for four. If the rule said otherwise and South Africa was aware of it (remember that they are also aware that this is a low scoring match and every run counts) they would certainly have tried to stop the ball from going to the boundary.
You can't say robbed it's about the rules that happen in all sports they have changed the law before it affects some.team at the final, like happened to Kiwis 😢
But the rule has been there for years. If it happened to South African would you still have reported on this story?... but yes it's a rule that needs to be changed. The umpire raised their finger for little to no appeal!!! Seems they were so ready to give Bangladeshi batsman out and deprive them of runs(wides and byes)
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Keep crying foul. You can't accept that the bangladeshi good for nothing team is full of shit
Thanks for explaining this
"Had they got 4 runs by way of leg byes the match would have been a tie." It is a ridiculous statement. Naturally when the umpire gives out the fielders stop chasing the ball. If it was not given South African fielders would have chased the ball in that sluggish outfield. So, if it was not given out and the batsmen ran three they would have lost by 1 run. Right or wrong, a rule is a rule. It's players attitude that's not right.
This is very funny to me, I've been playing cricket my whole life and no such thing has ever happened where a reviewed ball ever awarded runs. Seems like umpires should be robots now.
After what that disgrace shakib did to mathews in the odi wc... no sympathy of bangladesh.
The rules are clear..at least the spirit of the game wasn't injured here

Rules must change, unlucky Bungladesh
How the umpire see the ball ??? We all saw that the ball was going extremely legside of batsman....Even the ball was wide in the leg side....No human can imagine that this ball can touch any stamp...Only animal (except a dog who can do better prediction than this umpire) that doesn't have sense can think that this ball may touch the stamp....This corrupted umpire should be punished...Otherwise no subcontinent (except India) nation will play cricket
You reap what you sow .... Think about time out situation happened to anjelo Mathews vs the same bengla boys .... They even mocked the srilankan team .... Enjoy your own negativity... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SL vs BAN rivalry going well !😅😅
Bro don't forget sri lanka even mocked bangladesh. And this didn't start in 2023 ..it started in 2018.
And that timeout rule is necessary..because batsman will lose opponent's time and then at the end if they can't complete the overs on time they will face the slow over rate penalty...So that rule is a must..And Sri Lanka wouldn't tell Umpires to give Bangladesh more time for their (sri lankas) mistake...so what Bangladesh did was right and was in the rule of ICC. And I'm sure if india did this you would defend it.
But this case is different..Everyone can see the ball would miss the leg stump..and when they show it on hawk eye u can clearly see there was a huge gap between the ball and the stump...but still umpire raised his finger just to save those 4 runs...and the umpire also gave Ridoy out even before South Africa appealed...the umpire didn't even give a wide that was a clear wide ...the umpiring was below average in Ban vs Sa match...it seemed Umpires were playing for South Africa.

Entering a match by agreement that you understand the rules of the game. You can't bend the rules or extend the goal posts so that you can win.
However, Bangladesh played its heart out and deserved to win. They have played excellent cricket. Perhaps for future games changing the rules would be okay.
As a die hard SA fan, Bangladesh were very hard done by.
The dead ball rules haven't been adjusted for DRS tech.
And if for some reason Bangladesh hadnt reviewed it , they would have lost the wicket and 4 leg byes due to umpiring error.
If the ball would have gone to the boundary irrespective of the umpires lbw decision it should be called 4 if the lbw is overturned. Otherwise replay the ball as they do in tennis
Thank you India and all others for supporting bangladesh on this issue. What’s happened has happened, now let’s focus on changing the dumb rule.
2 clear wides also not given...mention this also!!!🔥🔥🔥
It's well said that if India was the victim, then ICC would immediately rectify that rule! Poor Bangladesh, always victim of ICC rules.
Guess what.. this is 29 June 2024 an India was in the Final vs South Africa, Proteas was well ahead on their way to win their 1st world cup against the mighty india and then.. the umpire and officials ruled Miller of South Africa out with a catch, but the catcher was clearly over the border line. Decision stood, cost South Africa the world cup. It is sickening. The officials get away with playing with people's lives and careers and they can just go home like nothing happened. Miller hit a six but was given out because India must win. Sick I tell you.
Why rules apply only to players.. umpires and referee in any sports should be penalised for knowingly or unknowingly ruining the game.. cheap people should not be allowed to officiat any game and players should be given the rights to voice their concern over poor decision so that everyone is equally responsible for a game to run smoothly..
The rules should be changed
This is nothing but a disgrace by ICC 😢!
Please talk about how FIFA robbed us of a place in 2026 wc…….you already have not covered the last game of our legend Chettri. Please show at lest some news about Indian football.
This rules need to be changed by icc
❤❤❤ love the news
Bangladesh had ample opportunity to win that game and South Africa also gave them ample opportunities to win and blaming one moment in the game as to the reason why they lost is a bit childish
Really d ball went to the boundary and no leg byes were given then if was a dead ball why did it still count some really don't know d game of cricket
_Y Bangladeshi are crying.. In wc match Travis head was out lbw.. But the umpire didn't gave him out.. On drs it was hitting the wicket... But it went to umpires call.. That time these Bangladeshi were cheering.. Karma hit them.. Now they are crying_
True. These bangladeshis only support rules that support them to win a match. They very well know that they don't have any ability to beat a strong team by performance
First of all, idiot it was Labuschange not travis head. I want india face same situation then rule will be change.

It is not even about the rule. It's about both of the umpires controversial calls. It looked like they were ready to raise their finger on everything. But I mean who cares! 🐵
Change ur teleprompter guys @Firstpost. Your news persons take long pauses between their delivery and it is very annoying 😢 … and yes that includes Ms. palki.
Thats their unique way of delivering which i like about them.
What a nonsense rule by icc? Change all the nonsense rules
enough sour grapes, rules are rules, they didnt change in the middle of that game to suit anyone. must we call matthews and ask him if the time out rule must be changed?
Imagine this situation in world cup final!
Those pitches are not made for cricket.
If the rule wasn't there, SA fielders would not let the ball go to the boundary.
Many people are thinking the same way but if you saw the match you would know that there were no fielders in that area and none could have reached there in time to stop the ball so if there was no call for lbw there was no stopping the ball.
@@M_JonayedK there was fine leg. Fine leg would cut it off.
Very sad moment for my country.
No! Your economy, corruption and lack of development are the real issues. This is just a game of cricket. You will survive. Sending condolences from Africa.
Fantastic reporting 👏👏
It was clearly going out side the leg stump, umpire was idiot he should not rise his finger it wasn’t even applied from South Africa, they can challenge for the lbw.
We all play by the same rules.
Its garbage umpiring.
He should have waited until ball became dead before giving decision.
Umpires should be given 2 instructions:
- Wait until ball is dead before giving decision.
- Horrible decisions lile these must be punished by not giving such umpires any more matches to officiate
Rules are there for a reason
We benefitted and we don't feel any shame😂😂😂😂
seems it is intentional, as we have seen umpire did it rapidly as like opportunity not to be lost anyway.
They were in a hurry to get Hridoy or Mahmudullah either one. 😂 To keep it within their plans
Bangladesh should not cry now.. because "Rules are Rules" as said by Shakib regarding the "Time out" incident with Anjelo Mathieus😂
every one has the same rules
what a whinge that could apply to any one!
This was done so as to not to have a similar situation where england won the world cup because of overthrows in 2019. You cant blame ICC for this , its Damned if you do and Damned if you don't situation. Onus to score required runs lies with the players here.
What simon want say 😳 is he want to say that umpire intentionally did that?? 😳😳

.might makes right.
Yeah, it’s unfair. But the rule is the same for all teams. Trust Bangladesh to cry after losing.
Now i remember time out rule against lankans
Im at $30,000 in the bank.. no debt and im loving it.. living on less than you make and believing that you can is one heck of a step in achieving it
How did you do it? Do explain please😐 My family have been into series of sufferings lately
Really feel your pain, when I was even almost down my God sent to me Elizabeth Ann Larson Trading services to me and changed the game automatically.
Scamming other people eh😅
What’s the argument about?
The rule is clear: *The ball is dead once umpire has made a decision.*
That is what happened.
Could have gone any way....
You can't say robbed it's about the rules that happen in all sports they have changed the law before it affects some.team at the final, like happened to Kiwis 😢
But the rule has been there for years. If it happened to South African would you still have reported on this story?... but yes it's a rule that needs to be changed. There r many others that needs to be changed like if a ball pitches outside of the line but hits the wicket it can still be called not a LBW when its clearly hitting the wickets
Sunil Gavaskar's comment is infuriating to say the least...I wonder if his comment would stay the same if it was India on the wrong side as Simon Dull said!
P.S. It's unfortunate that people only strive to make changes when they themselves fall on the wrong side of the equation. I wonder when the people in power will do something right when it's actually needed the most!
That rule want finishing with u wouldn't get those runs if he was given out. Not given out 4 leg byes
