I am right now rooting a 4-leaf clover! I found it over a week ago and plopped it in a tiny shot glass of water water. Purpose was to save it to show someone. I sort of forgot about it. It is still fully green, firm stem, and has a full clump of roots!!
i already found 50 something 4 leaf clovers and even some 5 leaf clovers! i found most of the 5 and 4 leaf clovers at my high school! But i never thought about propagating one. I also heard on a yt video that if you take 2 four leaf clovers and try to propagate them they will probably create a whole four leaf clover plant! I also heard about a real 56 leaf clover that a old farmer found in japan! the clover had broken the world record for the most clover leaves on one single stem!
Had a patch in my backyard when I was growing up. Was the coolest thing to give out to people after drying and laminating them or throwing them in epoxy. I still tend to find them all over but my dad killed that patch with fertilizer when I was younger. Devastating.
When we were in school with friends we looked over the giant grass field for days scanning it progressively. We never found one. But a few weeks after giving up, still in the same grass field we were just chilling and I found one. I picked it and kept it in my hand for a while, but then i threw it in another grass patch to see if anything would come of it, because I heard that they come in patches rather than a single 4 leaf clover at a time, it's a mutation that affects the root network. Anyway I didn't think much of it, it looked dead and I didn't do any care to it, just dumped it into a fresh patch of grass few blocks away, but weeks later I came back and found a whole patch of them in the grass that previously only contained tall dark grass blades and a fair bit of daily shade, as well as gutter rainwater collecting next to it. I tried to bring more to my parents house and do the same there, but it never took over. i think it's because there were a lot of weeds, wildflowers and other stuff competing for that grass space compared to the first place i put it in which wasn't far at all from the original spot and was only grass rather than flowers and stuff. I saw you can buy kits online, I never tried one though.
@JimmyB Harvests do you think they are meant to keep finding and keeping to keep the luck streak alive is why they seem to appear when in possession of one?
I ordered a pack of 100 ‘Four leaf clover Trifolium Repens mixed’ from eBay. I wanted to grow some as I put flowers into resin, and thought clover might be a nice, interesting touch. So I found your video whilst looking for how to grow it. I will have to try with compost, I guess….any ideas would be very much appreciated!
I put a four leaf clover in a vase with water. Cut the end of the stem and rewatered it the, third watering the stem is growing roots. I can't wait to see if it makes a plant. no rooting hormone.
I found my first four leaf clover in july in Italy and since then i must have found around 50 at least :) and also some five leaf clovers. There is patch i pass on my walks where there are so many. Must be some mutation indeed. Now i wonder if and how to transplant it to my garden. That would be fun. I am happy to see other people excited about four leaf clovers :) greetings
Yeah I find them every year sometimes multiple times. Tips don't step on them. And most importantly, look in the same spot if you find one. Best times are April and June.
I actually have successfully moved (3 leaf) clovers from one spot into the other, the trick is to move them with a section of the dirt intact. That was until my stupid gardener cut it from the root.
I laminate them into bookmarks, I wrote the date on them and use them in my books, only ever found three, but they stay green and hopefully bring me luck! 🍀
I know some one who did have 4 leaf clover plants she gave one to my mum as well you need to dig it up and proper gay the whole plant also there are actual 4 leaf plants and there are 4 leaf mutations so you would probably need to get a few plants to ensure you hav a proper 4 leaf plant not just a mutation, I remember the one in my mums garden had about 30% 4 leaf stems.
hey man, i actually just found a clover plant that is only producing 4 leaf clovers in my garden. is this actually possible or just extreme luck? and do you think the plant can be cloned?
Sounds like you're about to be selling luck! That's insane! Are we sure its not some sort of other plant? Would love to see pics or vids keep me posted!
Lemme guess, you then played the lotto and are now the king of Canada?! Lol jk but incredible video just with 1 four leaf clover alone. 3 is just mindblowing! Cheers
The first time I had ever decided to look for a four leaf clover, I crouched down next to a patch of them in my garden, around 5 seconds into looking at them, I found one. Lucky?
I would find these by the dozen in about an hour as a kid. I believe genetic variation has “weeded” them out over the years. 😂. Or maybe we just get unluckier as we age.
Funny how people can create stuff in their head and it becomes real. Its like you are trying to turn a leaf into a tree. If you bring a bit of root with it,, you will have a better chance.
The intent was to isolate the genetic mutation. Taking more plant, to get roots too, would have brought along a bunch of 3 leaf clovers. Chance of survival would surely be better, but it would just be a regular old clover plant.

2 of the 4 leaves have yellowed...but the roots have increased - will have to soon try and pot it!@@JimmyBHarvests

Now that's one hell of a story. Thanks for sharing! Gives me more hope that a 4 leaf only plant might be possible!
@JimmyB Harvests do you think they are meant to keep finding and keeping to keep the luck streak alive is why they seem to appear when in possession of one?
I used to find 12-25 leaf clovers in this one patch when I was younger. I think that certain patch was super mutated.

6 leaf clovers are worth $500
I had this thought the other day about trying to breed the four leaf gene while I was trying to spread some clover seeds in my yard.
Awesome vid!
I think the problem is that you just cut the leave stem, and not the main stem. Cut them even much deeper, beyond the actual plant stem.
Agreed
I find one when I pray to God for signs. To me it tells me to hold on and have faith.

Very interesting! Must be something going on in that micro-environment.

I would love to see you breed two four leaf clover plants and maybe explore the genetics behind the four leaf clover

I love it. Nice going.
I found a 6 leaf clover in class while we were doing a fire drill lol

just found five leaf clover 😅

I haven’t tried my luck with one of those yet, probably should 😅

Would this have worked if it was a tissue culture?
Great question! Only one way to find out..
It' brings luck or not is it real??
I am trying to propogate Zigzag clover from cuttings, anyone had success?
