Good review. IPad mini 6 have new ISP (image processor) and hdr3 so it should be better in rare camera as well. Moreover, it is far more easier to take pics from Mini because of it’s size. The reason it’s screen looks brighter might be because of higher density of pixels per inch(326) than any of the existing iPads out there. Either I would prefer mini or iPad Pro 12.9 with mini led display, there is nothing in between ☹️
For me personally the iPad mini has replaced all of my notebooks for business, personal art projects, and studying French by using Goodnotes 5. It has also introduced me to using a daily planner and journal as well as long term task management within Things 3. In addition, allowing me to draw, digital sculpt, cad model and make beats using something that can fit in my coat pocket and can be used one handed. Many people also have the notion artists always prefer the larger canvas and that’s just not true if it were all painters would be muralists and the Mona Lisa wouldn’t be so small. All of my previous sketchbooks were the size of the mini or smaller. I saw someone comment that the Mini was overpriced but judging by the value it has brought me in a portable package I’d say it’s priced fairly. It certainly shouldn’t cost $400 which is less than $100 more than the iPad 9 when it’s literally superior tech wise to the air. It’s size is a feature not a drawback.

Perfect no complaints will update if anything changes.
Honestly for note taking I think the air is still better especially for diagrams, formulas, and writing notes on pdfs and PowerPoint decks. The mini is too crammed to fit everything in one screen and still be easily legible, or you’d need to zoom in and then you’d lose vision out of everything else. For quick note jotting, sure the mini is enough.

Love the Mini, I had a pro 11 before but holding it for longer than 5 minutes gets tiring. I can hold the mini significantly longer and its just big enough to consume media, a better experience than a phone.
FYI: iPad Mini with 256 GB storage option reaches 1340 read and 1267 write speed in Jazz Disk Bench. So bigger storage option comes with faster disc speed
I just purchased the iPad Air for my wife. Going for the iPad mini would have been much easier to me if it wasn't nearly the same price as the Air 4. If it started at $400, I would have been game.
@@papermelon yup. It really boils down to preference. I got the mini and I use it more than my phone and my 11” m1, the size is what draws me to it. But for serious workflow I use the 11” with the magic keyboard or a macbook.

Because of 1 single frame higher in graphic benchmark? Sorry but this is definitely not enough to be considered "better", even the more demanding tech users won't see a real difference in performance. The ultrawide front camera is cool, but there are way more important features in a Tablet to consider, like the larger screen, the louder speakers or the faster storage performance. So it's just a matter of taste and needs in the end of the day.
The only pity of both ipads is that there is no 128GB available, 64GB would definitely be too small for most people, and 256GB is too wasteful for students like me, and that is not worth the price to upgrade the storage ,i might as well stretch my budget to buy Ipad Pro 2020 instead, just tightly enough for basic version though. It had perplexed me for a while why Apple doesn't launch 128 GB version for Ipad Air 4 or, Ipad Mini6. What a bummer!!!!!

Depends how much you will take it out and where you take it. If you are like me only use iPad at home and take it out now and again like visiting family or taking it with you in a hotel when u stop away and only use it in room go for IPad Air. If you are one who has it on you all the time walking through towns going to coffee shops go for the mini

There are a lot of Air 4 deals going on. Many are offering Air 4 for 499, the same price as the mini. And sometimes cheaper like 450. In that case, would one go for the mini over the Air 4?
Just like every comparison is saying, it depends on what you'll be using an iPad for. If you'll want more of a laptop replacement, go for the air since it has more accessories for that. If you prefer portability over anything else, go for the mini.

I had iPad mini 5, I really enjoy it’s lightweight and comfortable to hold. But I always feel like screen a little bit too small. Then I have a lot of doubts between iPad Pro 11 vs 12.9, and 12.9 model feels too big. So I end up getting 11” Pro, and I think it’s just perfect size for iPad. It suits well in any small bag, and after 11” size I don’t want comeback to iPad mini anymore, It’s just too small, especially fonts sizes feels small. Also I enjoy sound quality and 120 HZ display on iPad Pro. I use it mostly for gaming and after few hours of holding ipad in hands my hands feel tired, but it’s ok I get used to it. I use iPad mini 5 now only for messangers and Instagram, and on iPad Pro 11 I do everything else: Internet Browsing, TH-cam, Gaming, Movies - it just feels much better on 11” screen with 120Hz. I think it’s perfect size 👍
Man I really like the size and form factor of the mini, but I love my air 4 and smart connector. I have it in the Logitech combo, so while I would enjoy reading a viewing on the mini since it’s easier to hold, I’ll keep my air 4 since I can basically turn it into a laptop on the go. Plus the mini is crazy for $500. Should make base iPad 300, mini 400 and air 500.

I went to the store and the Air was appealing for the screen real estate but a little heavier than expected. The Mini was SO portable but my eyes wanted more from the screen. I was gonna get an air 4 because I still have my mini 4 and I wanted an upgrade. But when apple announced the new mini I’m definitely sold on getting the new mini. I just use mine to watch movies, TH-cam, reading, some games and especially love traveling with it. I can’t wait for the upgrade.

I am using Linux Desktop primarily for programming, while also have been testing macOS in VM, enjoying watching TH-cam videos about M1 MacBooks and I would love to get my hands on Macbook 14 :), Unix, Optimised OS, Boosted ARM chip, Great battery; Unrivaled Laptop for programming.
I prefer iPad Air with Magic keyboard. I had laptops 💻 before. And ipads older ones . This iPad Air upgraded from iPad 6 32GB , iPad Air just more ascetically pleasing and its the most usable ipad I ever had . Desktop Computers and laptops 👩💻 tend to get viruses. It’s overkill , iPad Pro would be great to have but it is too much wasted money on features I won’t use and GB storage I wouldn’t come close to using up. For average consumption it’s perfect could of gotten 256GB rule of thumb is to get biggest storage when buying an iPad but now there is iCloud and external storage capabilities and dongals for HDMI SD cards.
I don't know, why compare the two tablets when the ONLY reason you would choose one over the other is the size. For me, mini is the choice, not because it is better, but because it is smaller. I want a tablet I can carry in my pocket, and that is all. I don't care how much it scores, because being an Apple product, it will have enough power to run my apps, there is no question about that.
The MHz of the A15 in the Mini 6 is not slower to save battery life, but because it's worse binned chip. In the current chip shortage Apple are not wasting silicon. That's why regular iPhone 13 is using A15 with 1 GPU core disabled, because like in PC GPU market, sometimes the die is defective and instead to throw the entire chip, you are disabling cores and you can sell it as "low-tier" product. Same is here. Both iPhone 13 (not Pro) and Mini 6 have worse binned chips. iPhone 13 Pro has the best quality silicon. And in general Air 4 is superior... A15 is barely upgrade over A14. The back camera looks better in the comparison, microphone sounded more clear, 2x faster storage, the display size, accessories support... Air 4 is just better device. Plus when you add the "jelly scrolling" effect in portrait mode in the Mini 6.. it's just not a good product.

The iPad mini shoulds be renamed as the iPad Jelly. I absolutely hate the jelly scrolling and returned mine today.
There are some reports That say Ipad mini display has Jelly scrolling Effect, Is that really matter and is that really noticable?
The jelly scrolling happens on any 60 hz lcd. It happens on the iPad Air 4 as well. So I don’t think it really matters.
@@Marngel But on the Mini it happens in portrait mode, which is really annoying. I returned mine today for this reason. I couldn't get over it.

The iPad Air 3 came with A12, iPad Air 4 with A14, maybe there is a good chance it’s going to have the A16 instead next year.

There are a lot of Air 4 deals going on. Many are offering Air 4 for 499, the same price as the mini. And sometimes cheaper like 450. In that case, would one go for the mini over the Air 4?
Just like every comparison is saying, it depends on what you'll be using an iPad for. If you'll want more of a laptop replacement, go for the air since it has more accessories for that. If you prefer portability over anything else, go for the mini.

A feature I would like to have on any apple device is for to able-to access your iPhone -or iPad camera to be able to view where your device is for better location if lost or stolen
I bought the iPad mini because I wanted the smaller. I had an iPad mini 3 and I didn’t have enough memory, so I wanted the 6. Problem is, I am not techno and I haven’t been able to transfer everything over to it

the thing im most liking from the new mini.. is that it will pump the android small tablet sector. right now the mi pad 5 is about as good as it gets, but many would like smaller and small offerings on android are dire, out of date and just plain terrible. mi pad with 8" screen at 120hz? yes please.
My dilemma is getting either the iPad Mini 6 256GB or the M1 iPad Pro 11". Currently have the 12.9 which I am selling because it is just too damn big.
I had iPad mini 5, I really enjoy it’s lightweight and comfortable to hold. But I always feel like screen a little bit too small. Then I have a lot of doubts between iPad Pro 11 vs 12.9, and 12.9 model feels too big. So I end up getting 11” Pro, and I think it’s just perfect size for iPad. It suits well in any small bag, and after 11” size I don’t want comeback to iPad mini anymore, It’s just too small, especially fonts sizes feels small. Also I enjoy sound quality and 120 HZ display on iPad Pro. I use it mostly for gaming and after few hours of holding ipad in hands my hands feel tired, but it’s ok I get used to it. I use iPad mini 5 now only for messangers and Instagram, and on iPad Pro 11 I do everything else: Internet Browsing, TH-cam, Gaming, Movies - it just feels much better on 11” screen with 120Hz. I think it’s perfect size 👍

Bigger screen is better, but iPad mini has newer encoders so faster playback and exporting!

Man I really like the size and form factor of the mini, but I love my air 4 and smart connector. I have it in the Logitech combo, so while I would enjoy reading a viewing on the mini since it’s easier to hold, I’ll keep my air 4 since I can basically turn it into a laptop on the go. Plus the mini is crazy for $500. Should make base iPad 300, mini 400 and air 500.

It’s funny how the Mini has had to justify its existence since day one. “It’s just a big iPhone!” Or “what can the Mini do that a regular tablet or big phone can’t do better?” The answer is so obvious to me that I’ve decided it’s a “brain” thing, another “is the dress white and gold or blue and black” thing. I went to the store and the Air was appealing for the screen real estate but a little heavier than expected. The Mini was SO portable but my eyes wanted more from the screen. I think I’m leaning towards the Air…

The air and the mini are for different people. The MAJOR difference is the size and weight which can determine what you want to do with it.

I was gonna get an air 4 because I still have my mini 4 and I wanted an upgrade. But when apple announced the new mini I’m definitely sold on getting the new mini. I just use mine to watch movies, TH-cam, reading, some games and especially love traveling with it. I can’t wait for the upgrade.

But wish the screen was a wee bigger for movies/TV shows. Air seemed great for screen real estate but a tad too big to lug around conveniently 😭

In portrait mode it can be noticeable if you're scrolling quickly & looking for it. I heard it isn't an issue in landscape mode.

I prefer iPad Air with Magic keyboard. I had laptops 💻 before. And ipads older ones . This iPad Air upgraded from iPad 6 32GB , iPad Air just more ascetically pleasing and its the most usable ipad I ever had . Desktop Computers and laptops 👩💻 tend to get viruses. It’s overkill , iPad Pro would be great to have but it is too much wasted money on features I won’t use and GB storage I wouldn’t come close to using up. For average consumption it’s perfect could of gotten 256GB rule of thumb is to get biggest storage when buying an iPad but now there is iCloud and external storage capabilities and dongals for HDMI SD cards.

I don't know, why compare the two tablets when the ONLY reason you would choose one over the other is the size. For me, mini is the choice, not because it is better, but because it is smaller. I want a tablet I can carry in my pocket, and that is all. I don't care how much it scores, because being an Apple product, it will have enough power to run my apps, there is no question about that.

The MHz of the A15 in the Mini 6 is not slower to save battery life, but because it's worse binned chip. In the current chip shortage Apple are not wasting silicon. That's why regular iPhone 13 is using A15 with 1 GPU core disabled, because like in PC GPU market, sometimes the die is defective and instead to throw the entire chip, you are disabling cores and you can sell it as "low-tier" product. Same is here. Both iPhone 13 (not Pro) and Mini 6 have worse binned chips. iPhone 13 Pro has the best quality silicon.
And in general Air 4 is superior... A15 is barely upgrade over A14. The back camera looks better in the comparison, microphone sounded more clear, 2x faster storage, the display size, accessories support... Air 4 is just better device. Plus when you add the "jelly scrolling" effect in portrait mode in the Mini 6.. it's just not a good product.
