I contacted my ex after few months of our break up (he lashed out on me and said really hurtful things), even though it was him who pushed me away with his bad behavior, which made me take a strong decision to separate. But I’ve literally been talking about the dark night of the soul recently, shadow work. I’ve cut off toxic/unhealthy ppl, which were friends & fam that have caused me trauma, including this person. I have been focused on healing&literally blocked them. I agree with you Sis. I was blocked, ghosted and disrespected repeatedly. I gave nothing, but love. There were so many lessons I learned through it all. The most important recently is "Why did I let them do all this to me repeatedly?" The lesson I learned mostly is self-love / self-worth. I can't forget no matter how hard I try, but I can love myself enough to never let it happen to me again. I resented them for what they did but forgiving myself and them so that I can release and move on was what has helped me the most. The more I love myself the less their effect has on me.
