Piece inside the bell: clapper. Your version of the bells is spectacular and so much more interesting than the inspiration photo. Thanks for this video. xx
Wow Lisa these all turned out so nice. I guess come payday I am going to have to get the patina paints. That adds so much to everything you used it on. I have several projects that are just begging for this treatment. Love them all and thank you for being so generous and sharing your ideas. You have such a sweet spirit about you. May God bless you and your family as well!
Hey there. I verdigris my pieces by spraying bronze or copper spray paint on your piece. While it’s hot immediately spray bleach onto the wet paint. Your piece will verdigris a few minutes. When the paint is thoroughly dry and hard, spray a satin or matte sealer. It makes a beautiful finish. it looks very authentic.
Lisa, i have an idea for attachment of the clapper in the bell. Instead of drilling a hole for hot glue and wire, why not screw an eye hook into the finial? Then do the same for the wood clapper. THEN, make a large jump ring , attach onto the clapper eye hook, and then attach to the finial eye hook. The clapper won’t be able to be pulled out. The clapper will then move like an authentic. clapper. Just a thought. ❤ Love your idea for this design! It’s prettier than any store bought bell!❤
Yes Lisa these bells are uniquely beautiful. I love the green myself and you did such a fantastic transformation. I do plan on changing the look of my small lanterns from DT like yours. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
The bells, balls, and lanterns are gorgeous! I have the same bells saved on my Pinterest page. After watching your video, I had to go digging around to see if I saved my old ceiling fan light globes. Sure enough, I had four of them stashed away. I'm definitely going to make this! I also have my old Christmas tree and I use the branches for lots of projects. 😂
Oh my gosh. I have an old Christmas tree that I have been hanging on to for years. I’m going to make swags!! Thanks for the great idea. I so agree…. Fresh greenery has gone up way to much.
The bells look amazing! I may have to give it a try. I sure wish you lived closer so I could purchase the paint and patina stuff. 😊 As far as answering comments, I and probably others completely understand with it being the season, so no worries. God Bless
I love love these bells . They are so beautiful !!! What a fantastic idea. The Christmas balls and lanterns look amazing. Thanks for sharing these projects with us Lisa.
You’ve created the most beautiful Christmas decorations. I think I have some of those globes. If I can find them, I’ll copy you on the bells. And I know I have plenty of Christmas balls to paint with the patina paint. Or I have some bronze paint I could use instead. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful ideas. I just loved that spray you made to go with the bells!
I love the bells Lisa, they look very beautiful Lisa and I love the way they look with the spray over the paint. I keep meaning to ask my ex husband if I can have his glass light shades, he has them just sitting out on the deck and they are going to get broken or ruined some other way maybe he’ll let me have them. Your bells look gorgeous TFS, god bless Lisa, hope you had a great weekend .
*Oh, Lisa, your Christmas bulbs and lanterns are so GORGEOUS with that bronzey brown paint and the green liquid patina spray...very elegant and HIGH END for pennies on the dollar - BRAVO‼️👏 👏 👏 😉 You outdid yourself in this video - and I liked that you even sprayed the cord and used the green liquid patina spray on it too❣️💕 I didn't know it would work on fabric‼️🙉🤯*
Thank you Lisa for the inspiration. I have 2 big faux Christmas trees in my shed. Now I know what I can do with them. I also think I have some antique glass light covers. Much love from Texas ♥️🤠
Oh Mrs Lisa! I love these, especially the lanterns. You could get a pole on a stand and decorate it up in greenery and on the top of it put that lantern!! Or you could even do the pole like an old metal pole too, put the lantern on top and make it look like an old street light. Know what I’m talking about?
*LOL, Lisa - you must have heard me talking to you through my phone screen 😙📲 to your computer 🖥 screen telling you to wait ✋️ on gluing the wood finials to you glass globes because you needed to drill a hole on both sides of both of your finials - one to attach your bell's 🔔 clapper to an eye hook 🪝 and one on the top to attach your eye hook 🪝 so you could hang your bells. That was before I knew you were attaching your bells 🔔 to a swag. SO PRETTY❣️💕😍*
