    What a wonderful time we live in-we can watch a wonderful artist; like Javid in his backyard in Vancouver, Canada; stretching his paper for his next piece of art. Thank you so much, Javid, for sharing your life with us-what a great inspiration.

    I soak the paper in the bath, rolled loosely or loosely folded over itself. Then I put clean plastic down before stapling, so the paper doesn't get dirty or damaged. I staple through wooden lollipop sticks in order to spread the pressure of the staples, to help prevent the paper tearing. This also reduces the damage any future rusting might do.

    its very sweet to listen to your happy music and watch you do this paper stretching. It just seems so mundane, yet beautiful at the same time because we know the glorious painting will pour out of you when this paper serves its purpose! Have a wonderful blessed day!

    Maestro, estas obras son inmensas, por lo menos para una técnica como la acuarela, me parece que conllevan una gran dificultad por el formato, además de que la acuarela de por si es una técnica exigente, Great work!!

    Can you tell us what type of paper is suitable for this and what weight? After painting on it do you fix the painting with anything so it does not deteriorate? I can see this is what enables you to work on a larger scale.oh, I see this info is right at the very beginning of the video. If you blink you could easily miss it!

      The video says it's 300g/140 lb paper, but it looks much heavier than that. I'd say it's at least 300 lb. paper.

    The only reason I can think o for doing this is so you can keep the paper moist while painting the picture - spraying the back side of the paper. Curious to know what your reason is for doing this? .

  • @wearefamilyart

    Very interesting method. Wonder, do you varnish the finished painting, since you obviously won't put it under a glass this way?

      layered pva glue will do this but work fast with big soft brush, and experiment first

    I always stick my paper directly onto a wooden plate with wallpaper Glue. Greetings Jos

      The watercolor paper is coated with the wallpaper paste with a large brush on the back side of the paper. Then glue the paper to the wooden board. Now dry everything for 24 hours. Then the water or paint can be applied as usual with a brush

    • @jtpaar1732
      @jtpaar1732 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sturmkind9241 Javid was showing how he stretched watercolor paper over a FRAME. You are talking about permanently attaching watercolor paper to a board where the entirety of the paper makes contact with the board. These are two completely different things, so not sure how it would be a "tip" for anyone.

    • @sturmkind9241
      @sturmkind9241 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hallo @@jtpaar1732 since I already have years of experience with this variation of watercolor paper on a wooden board, I can only pass this information on. Because you can even switch from a 300 gram / m2 to a 190 gram / m2 paper without affecting the way you paint. If you are interested, I can provide more information on this.

    • @jtpaar1732
      @jtpaar1732 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sturmkind9241 Thanks anyway, but I already have experience painting with watercolor paper on board, which is why I'm trying to point out that your technique is different than what Javid is showing people in this video.
      Javid is showing us how to STRETCH the paper rather than adhering it permanently to a board. Most likely, once he's done the painting, he will cut it from the wood frame so it can be properly matted and mounted inside a glass frame.
      Given the size of the paper/painting, a wood board might significantly add to the weight of the painting when hung on the wall.
      It is my experience that painting on watercolor on board IS different than painting on traditionally stretched paper, in subtle ways I won't get into here. But to each his own.
      Anyway, Javid didn't elaborate on specifics, but I'm sure you can rest easy knowing your are giving this great artist a "tip". Carry on.

    Аффтару, видимо, уже бесполезно советовать. Но кто новички - ни в коем случае не натягивайте что бы то ни было подобным образом! Никогда не натянете правильно. Исключительно от центров к углам и никак не наоборот! Сначала фиксируем скобой центры по длине, затем по ширине. Потом попеременно - фиксируем пару-тройку точек по длинным сторонам, слева и справа от центров, затем по двум другим. От центра к краям движемся, две-три скобы на одной стороне, затем две-три на противоположной. В последнюю очередь - углы. Подгибы на углах начинайте набирать с вертикальной стороны (относительно расположения будущей композиции), «закрывайте» угол горизонтальным подгибом.

    If we consider all the quantity of water pulverized on the paper , perhaps it is better to soak it directly in a bath ??? No ? !!!! ,,,,????
