It was Asami’s voice that I thought took the show in this song- I know y’all all got Miyako in your eyes, but listen to the range and how she chants and rides with the notes in this one more than any other it’s really an outstanding operatic performance! Hoping for Lovebites Liar. Band Maid Onset. Yes Miyako plays that in this song. This is a different song from them. Mixes things up. Miyako is a concert pianist, so, she does incorporate that in some songs. Don’t know if you did Lovebites Swan song, with revolutionary etude opening. Asami was a ballerina once, so she incorporates that at times. It’s what she does up behind Haruna during Frozen serenade. It’s what I love about Lovebites, they bring grace to metal.
I've been waiting for you guys to react to "Spellbound". Just when you think Miyako can't be any more of a bada**, she comes along and does this sh*t. World class pianist, world class guitarist, plays keyboard and guitar at the same time, and now kicks butt on the keytar. Is there anything this girl can't do? Like you, I loved that she showed her playful side. I've watched her TH-cam channel, and she's always very sweet and funny; glad she finally showed that side of herself.

Supposedly, Miyako had her baby in August, and I suspect they've already found a new bassist. My guess is that they're getting the new bassist up to speed, and Miyako is writing new songs while she's taking care of her baby. I think in the spring they'll be ready and come back with a vengeance.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned GALNERYUS a few times. SYU reminds me of John Petrucci, Luca Turilli, and Yngwie all rolled into one. He's a top-level badass. Masatoshi-san is an amazing singer. The whole band is top-level talent. Check out some more songs/videos, and you will see what they are all about. My top 3 bands right now are: Lovebites, Galneryus, and Wagakki Band. I love other bands from Japan too, but those are my favorites.

Bridear has been around since 2013 and I have their first 5 albums, in that time they had two very different guitarists (Misa and Mitsuru) and a different drummer (Kai) from 2013 through 2019, then they veered way too far into the pop-rock scene and this year they went back to their roots. It's funny that you mention Castlevania when watching "Unending Sorceress." The song is actually about Final Fantasy VIII. In that game, there are powerful beings called sorceress who wield unusually potent magic. It's been a while since I played that game, but I believe there were four sorceresses in that game: one who is the main enemy throughout most of the game, one imprisoned in space, the final boss, and one of the party members. I think they can only die when they voluntarily pass on their powers to the next sorceress. Fuki, the singer, looks the part of a sorceress, but she doesn't resemble any of the sorceresses from that game. The lyrics contain many overt references to FF8 and the part of the video at 33:34 resembles the final stages of the game. This is my favorite UM song so far, but I understand that it's not for everyone. Thanks for giving it a chance. "Spellbound" isn't on any of LOVEBITES' albums. It's tucked away on their single "Golden Destination." It struck a chord with me the first time I heard it, and I thought of it as their hidden gem until HMND was released and it got so much attention. I'm glad Momma Miyako showed her personality and acted all adorable. In interviews and on her channel she's all smiles and laughs a lot, plus she's much more active on Battle in the East and Wacken 2018 than on DotD and FoaK.
Galneryus was my favorite band last year and still is in my Top 3. Just that Dir En Grey and Jiluka are the real deal. I guess you have done some Dir En Grey reactions (at least I hope). My recommendations would be: Galneryus - The Force of Courage (Live) Dir En Grey - Vinushka (Live) & Jiluka - Kumari or even Ablaze because I really can't decide on which one is the better starter. Btw, you guys are the best for doing those Deviloof reactions!
One or two more things about Galneryus: As if you wouldn't have noticed Syu, the guitarist, is the big deal in this group but also does great duos with the keyborder every few songs. Also the great and awesome singer is about 53 👀💜
So you might want to know some more information: Syu formed this band in 2001 with the first singer. The other oldest member is the keyboarder that joined 2005 and then the bassist joined with the singer around 2009. The drummer changed some times and now LEA is on the kit while being under 30 years (I am not sure about his age but he could be 25) and also being a fan of Galneryus himself for atleast 6 years. I hope you two see this comment as well and since you mentioned an upcoming Superbowl just by their songs I recommend one of my favorites: Brutal Spiral of Emotions. Personally I think that the studio version is perfect but some prefer hearing / reacting to live so.. do as you please 😊 Have a great week and I just spend about three hours watching reactions of Japanese bands haha.

We both love ALL the members of LOVEBITES, and just like with any other band, there are times that you just want to talk about who YOUR favorite member of the band is. I think MIDORI is an actual BEAST on the guitar, and she brings it each and every time! MIHO… well I mean she’s MIHO! She beats the bass up in every song, and there is no doubt about it! HARUNA is like a sweet little honey bee, with her hands flying around her drum kit, and she is one of my favorite drummers now actually, and then you have ASAMI! She rules the stage with style, power, and grace! She commands the audience and she knows it! Like I said… WE LOVE THEM ALL! Speaking as a bassist and for drummers, it’s our job to bake the cake so the guitars can frost it and the vocalists can decorate it with writing. Unfortunately, the frosting and the writing on any cake is what people notice first. It’s not until they slice it do they taste what drummers and bassists have baked in the cake. But fear not, WE know when the frosting and decorations look good, WE have done our jobs well.
Bridear was really good... Lovebies, same... Unlycky Morpheus was ok... Galneryus... Great band otherwise, but I just don't like their doublebass... it sounds like tomtom, rather than bassdrum.

Hey Boris!!! I am so sorry that you feel that way friend. We both love ALL the members of LOVEBITES, and just like with any other band, there are times that you just want to talk about who YOUR favorite member of the band is.
I think MIDORI is an actual BEAST on the guitar, and she brings it each and every time! MIHO… well I mean she’s MIHO! She beats the bass up in every song, and there is no doubt about it! HARUNA is like a sweet little honey bee, with her hands flying around her drum kit, and she is one of my favorite drummers now actually, and then you have ASAMI! She rules the stage with style, power, and grace! She commands the audience and she knows it! Like I said… WE LOVE THEM ALL! So again, sorry it seems that way to you, but we know how we feel about LOVEBITES, and that is all that matters friend. Have a great day, and thanks for your comment!

Speaking as a bassist and for drummers, it’s our job to bake the cake so the guitars can frost it and the vocalists can decorate it with writing. Unfortunately, the frosting and the writing on any cake is what people notice first. It’s not until they slice it do they taste what drummers and bassists have baked in the cake. But fear not, WE know when the frosting and decorations look good, WE have done our jobs well.

Bridear was really good... Lovebies, same... Unlycky Morpheus was ok... Galneryus... Great band otherwise, but I just don't like their doublebass... it sounds like tomtom, rather than bassdrum.
