German Troops occupy Moldau - Barriers are removed and crowds go crazy with delight as German troops occupy part of the second zone set out by the Munich Agreement. Sudeten Germans hoped for home rule as was promised to them by the American president Wilson after World War 1. They were discriminated in the newly-founded Czechoslovakian state. After World I Sudeten Germans mostly voted for the Social Democrats. They, however, were mainly interested in class conflicts. So they turned to the Henlein Movement . Henlein was forced to transform this movement into a party which eventually called for Hitler`s support as his demands for home rule were not met.

Settlement archeology is today consistent that at the arrival of the first Slavs the area was still settled Germanic. Both groups lived according to the excavation finds even after the arrival of the Slavs for many centuries peacefully side by side.
Since the 12th century, Bohemia and Moravia, under the Bohemian crown politically united, was part of the Holy Roman Empire, but more independent than most imperial estates (Bohemia was the only kingdom in addition to the three kingdoms).
In the 12th and 13th centuries waves of German immigrants came to the two countries. Their immigration focused on the outskirts and on cities often newly established with immigration aid or immigrants. They brought the city culture developed at that time in Germany with all its characteristics like guilds, handicrafts and above all German town right different stamping

It looks awful from a PR standpoint when not knowing fully the context. Just Before this occupation was the progrom in Germany known as Kristallnacht where innocent places of worship and family stores of Jews for nothing they ever did to anyone …. Were set fire and looted and many killed while the Nazis ordered the emergency services to stand back and watch without helping . I don’t care what side one is on but how do you digest that is the embodiment of a group you welcome with open arms?
How do you later overlook that this regime deported and gassed millions of women and children? Destroyed and depopulated whole towns and villages in Poland Romania Lithuania Hungary Ukraine Belarus …. And cheer this group to your ideals and values? It is not a moment so joyful when you piece all that together. It’s anything but chilling this parade was met with zero resistance
Someone somewhere should have stood up for human integrity and said no I am Czech German I appreciate your gesture but this is not the right German leader to do the job , please go back to Austria “

The Sudetenland was not occupied, as it said at 0:07, it was de-occupied by returning it, and the Sudeten Germans, rightfully back to their German Fatherland.

Chamberlain is a good man, and Western history wrongfully maligns him for being a man who knew a war in which millions of lives were at stake because of a decolonization effort, and prevented it from happening despite the wishes of aggressive czech nationalist. Its a shame that polish nationalism saw this as a way to antagonize their own minorities just to start aggression with 2 parties. It is sad to see the nationalism still doing this in modern times.
