Paul won an Olivier for playing Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire revival in the West End. Reviews used the words, "Brutal", "Terrifying", "Explosive". He possesses the range to pull a Gladiator character off, don't fret.
I’m so excited to see this, I could actually cry. 😭 If you had told me when I was a kid that 25 years from now, I would be watching the trailer for the sequel on my phone, my head would have exploded………and I would have been very confused. 😂
I'll probably watch because Denzel & Pedro are in it. Judging by the trailer, the plot of the movies seems chaotic. Also, it looks like switched the actor for the character of Lucius. Too bad they couldn't bring back the original actor to play that character as an adult 😕
Love this and looking forward to seeing this 😮 Also, just a little kind nudge that Paul Mescal’s surname doesn’t rhyme with Pedro Pascal’s. It’s Mescal where the ending sounds like the word call (It’s really hard when nothing rhymes with his surname! 😂) Said lovingly and kindly, adore you both ❤❤❤
Looks great. It might not reach the rights of the first, but I will be happy if its close. The music in the film is by a good composer (Harry Gregson-Williams) who has done loads of films, and Scott has used him before on The Martian, Kingdom Of Heaven, and The Last Duel. The modern stuff is sadly a thing the studios push in trailers these days.
The way I felt her reaction to him saying pedro pascal is in it. Girllll, that is the legit the only reason I am going to see this movie or even watched the trailer.
I think prob im seeing with paul mescal in the trailer is that i dont see real rage…like when denzel is talking to him about his rage, paul is deadfaced lol
The director feels he was or called him "perfect" for the role. He did not audition him for it. Ridley saw his breakout Baata winning series Normal People, called him directly for this film and that was that!
Mescal is so far superior an actor to Russell Crowe, he's gonna bring actual humanity rather than pompous postering with faux gravitas and little truth.
I love your first part with Russell Crowd. But in the sequel he faces a large and surprising cast and in his desire to achieve a good story. But that imperfection of including the rap theme in the trailer felt strange. But I hope it only happens there.
Ridley still a great filmmaker but his screenwriting was really problematic for napoleon, this is why Christopher Nolan surpassed him ..dark night, Oppenheimer, insterstellar are extremely well writed..with great pacing...
It's just a complete mood killer and such a daft decision from people who probably only put it in because it featured the word "coliseum" in the lyrics and they probably thought it was genius level creativity. Hans Zimmer's score for the original is absolutely iconic and remixing something from that with a slightly modern twist while staying faithful would have been so much better.

The despair in Mark’s voice when he asked Nadia, “Why can’t you try?!” 😂😂❤❤
Does this mean Nadia was almost Russell Crowe’s love interest and Joaquin’s sister in Gladiator?! ❤❤
Mark clutching his pearls (4:34) made my day LMAO ! xxx

Thank you! I've been rhyming their names since I heard they were in it together(not familiar with Paul Mescal before but saw the name).
My takeaway - Paul looks better in a skirt than short shorts

I think that Paul’s acting looks strong. Good for him.
“I can” hahahaha
I reckon Paul Mescal could draw you in on a human/soulful level. Almost like he's out of his depth and it'll make the story more compelling
They ruined the trailer with that song man, completely takes you out
Cry about Obviously that song fit the context in that scene y’all must be slow 🤣🤣 probably wanted Taylor swift in that scene

The Emperors Caracalla and Geta look so sadistic 😮😈👏🏻
My dad took us to Malta on a pilgrimage to visit the pub called The Pub where Oliver Reed died ❤ not sure on G2 though 😒
Not completely sold on this but tbh I am a big fan of the first! Watched it a couple of months back and I think it still stands up today!
We need a new great epic. Paul looks the part. Never too keen on the OTT evil ones.
The use of Kanye & Jay-Z song in the 2nd half of the trailer was really unnecessary
I didn't like it at all.
Exactly
You’ll survive
One of the greatest artist of all time get over it

The evil twins are def creepy-that laugh is super creepy. Fred, the shorter one, looks like joaquin phoenix’s joker in roman times.
Agree with Joseph Quinn. Feel like he will be the stand out
The Mandolorian Gladiator. Looks very Interesting. Denzel is in it so its going to be good.
Only one question, why wait so bloody long???
The trailer looks great as expected it. Full of action but the music is not great.
Cry bout it
Looks spectacle enough, but not sure the emperor or paul mescal is correctly cast. Lets see. Great cinema movie tho. TRAILER MUSIC all wrong tho

Denzel Washington 🤣🤣🤣 just NOOOOOOOO

Hello mark Nadia sweeties 🎥👋🎥
Absolutely hate the hip-hop in this. Couldn't they even just remix Now We Are Free? The music took me out of it entirely.

Looks awful tbh and the rap music wtaf???
Cry 🤣🤣🌹🌹
This song has nothing to do with Gladiator. Where is Hans Zimmer's iconic score?

@@0I0lII shut up 🤫 it’s a trailer the song not going to be in the movie Taylor swift
Let's hope there is no airplane in the sight.
I'm surprised...you guys have no criticism of the movie or at least its trailer.
We did - we said we were worried Mescal might not be able to carry the weight of the part
This looks exactly like the completely forgettable and unnecessary sequel that I thought it'd be. A hard pass for me.
One comment: The music is horrible.
Shite music this film just doesn't need to be made
terrible music. should have used taylor swift instead
