What's even more amazing - her dad had been diagnosed with terminal cancer just before this performance - but he didn't tell anyone about it so that his daughter could have the experience of her life here without the extra worry about his health.
Indeed, you are sadly stating the incredible sadness about this performance... I am an American TV (sports) producer and I befriended Beau's father (and Beau's brother) and actually flew to Liverpool to meet the Dermotts to discuss Beau possibly coming to the US to perform... He was an absolutely perfect father and husband (and avid Everton fan). Beau is a sweetheart. And Ian Dermott was a remarkable man!

That's a very interesting observation, she does appear to be a very different person whilst she's performing and as soon as the song ends she snaps instantly back to being a 12 year old child
She is still singing. Beautiful voice still. Her father passed away, but how beautiful was his love and support of her.

Either Beau or Jasmine Ellcock should have won. The magician was very good, but he played up military service and got the popular vote for it. Not fair for the back story to count more than the talent.

I am very much into the judges' reactions and feedback, as well as the performer's story. Well tonight I was reading the comments on Beau's audition… and found out her father passed away some time after that season of BGT. Oh my goodness. I have an 8 year old angel of a daughter and one of the saddest things I can think of in my mind is when her daddy leaves this world. My heart goes out to that whole family.
She recorded an album. I don't know what she's doing now. The video "Sparkles" features her parents.

It just makes me so sad knowing that she was unaware of he fathers cancer diagnosis at this time, and that he lost his battle two short years later. 😢
