Thanks homie! Definitely subscribing. Descriptive, informative, and helpful. Didn't even know this was possible, and I'm really glad you threw in the line about it not affecting the final outcome of the video quality. Keep'em coming!!!!
Yo I know this was 8 years ago, but you have an amazing personally with your video dude. Its not monotone or boring like the other ones I've watched. I'm new to this Pinnacle Studio 24 plus, and your video was great.
yess...I for got to ask do you have the tip of the day for stabilizor how it should be used and in which level to stabilize the jumpy filming ....youtube has very good effect for that.
What nuisance the render issue has been I didn't even know there is a way around it. Thanks a lot man...you da boss. I wondered if you created Pinnacle yourself, the way you mastering it, heish! Then the are those who give thumbs down! really guys? what with the hatred, jealous or what? you must be ashamed of yourselves. This top class information and has assisted so many. Im running along already to get these setting executed on my Pinnacle. thanx man...
Dude this may be an old video but you just helped me immensely! I have struggled for a while with waiting ungodly lengths of time for long videos to render, only to wait again once I cut and trim. Thank you so much
This is the info I should have discovered about Pinnacle 12 more than 8 years ago. I shudder to think of all the hours of my life that I wasted watching that green line turn to orange!. Thank you, thank you thank you.

I have been looking for this tutorial for months i've always hated editing my videoes becourse the rendering is so sloow But now i love editing. Thanks so much!
Hello, great tip. Well presented video. Thanks. On the rendering subject, I understand that everytime one drags a video to the timeline, It renders accordingly. I'm fine with that, even if it takes time. I then save and close my exported project once all rendering is done. My question is, when I reopen my project to burn another disc for example, It starts rendering all over again? Is this supposed to happen each time I open a finished project?
Sandro Celestino No it should not be happening when you open a saved project if you allowed it to render all the way. Check under your storage location to see if there is a setting for your rendered files location. Sorry I'm not at my PC right now to check myself.
***** Hi, yes I do have that setting. Its just strange with every project I open, even though it has rendered fully on the timeline. It appears each time I open the project. Would you know how I could fix this? Thanks
Not sure what to do on this one. Can you post this issue on my Pinnacle Studio Users Google Plus page? Maybe one of my moderators or users has had this issue and can help you. plus.google.com/communities/103736620166447167176
We film Weddings, Spring, Summer and early Fall. We don't want to get stale with our Filming & Editing. 25 years we are running out of ideas. We would love new editing ideas. Working with photographers at weddings there is only so much time for us to get our shots, We film what they shoot because of the limited time. The photographer runs the show most of the time. We look at a wedding as a high class documentary. We want to get studio Backlot this winter, when things slow down.
There are more options in the release 18 version. Preview tab has changed to export and preview. Once inside that tab there is a hardware acceleration choices, stereoscopic viewing mode and other items. Can you please update your video to reflect those additions and how they do or do not affect rendering speed increase? Thanks...Frank
+woodcraftmarketing Not going to be updating this video anytime soon Frank. I have a huge list of requests and I have to make videos for the new features of PS19. In my experience hardware acceleration helps to speed up rendering when your video has effects. The Stereoscopic option is for how you prefer to preview your 3D files based on how they were created.
Thank you. As you said - the preview got a bit jerky but the exported file was flawless. Real time saver not having to wait a minute for simple transition tan line to go green.
I only have Pinnacle Studio 18 plus but want to thank you for this and the basic tutorial as you saved my life. I left off with Pinnacle Studio 12 so was lost with the new program. Can't wait to get started.
I'm new to this software, love the videos!!! Thanks for all the videos and knowledge your sharing. You break it down were its easy to understand while explaining every step.
hay bud! got a question can you do a video or comment on how to set up the preview in the control panel on external devices like a different monitor. thanks
Great video, but not what I was looking for, although extremely helpful, thanks! I'm new (again) to Pinnacle, so trying to catch up. I last used v8, so that was waaayy back! Now on v23. So, exported first edited movie and although sound track plays ok.,2 video pauses a couple of times here and there and then jumps to catch up. It's fine in editing, but not in export. Any ideas?
Additional problem I am having. Some transitions do not come through on the export but act the way they are supposed to during preview. Why do some transitions like rolling text for example not come through on the export? Thanks.
+woodcraftmarketing I'm not familiar with this issue Frank. Please post your question to my users community to see if someone else has had this issue and fixed it. Other tips have been very helpful. I have Pinnacle Studio 21 and its working up until it is time to export, then it just sits and doesn't do anything. Any tips for fixing that?
How can I use transitions and not move the audio track out of place with this studio 18 ? When I drag or place transitions it moves the audio out of line little by little !
42craig If you have PS Ultimate you have to change the timeline mode in order to stop things from moving around when you add things in between two clips. All the way to the right above the timeline you will find an orange icon that looks like a magic wand. Click the drop down arrow next to it and change it from Smart mode to Overwrite mode.
Appreciate all the videos thus far ! just up graded to the 18 ultimate. Im having problems with this software on my laptop. at first it was know video would show. So I found out about down load DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) . It helped but my laptop still having stability issues . I have 32bit windows 7, do you have any advise or helpful tips ? thanks Craig .............. Also any on getting dvd to burn quicker

You have helped me so much more, with the problems I was having using Pinnacle Ultimate 19, than those folks at Corel online support. Many thanks.- Compliments, applause and respect!
Does it have audio when you play it with Windows media player? If it does, the next thing you should do is update your audio drivers. It should have audio in Pinnacle Studio after that.
Great video as usual, I have an issue whereby when dragging down a clip to the time line it seems to jump from one line to another especially if I want to move the position of the clip. Is this my PC or can this be controlled?

Whenever I search a problem that I have, one of your videos pop up! I thank you so much for having so many videos on different things. Right now I have a problem to where when I go to export a video, about 10 minutes long, it gets 4% in or 867 frames and then it stops. Im not sure if this is due to I have two videos playing on the screen at once and it takes longer? But I've had my computer on and trying to do this since midnight last night and it is nine right now. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem? I have pinnacle 16 with a Latitude E6500 Dell laptop and have %10 of storage space left with the export saying it should take up a percentage or two. Thank you!
I'm so happy that you have found my videos to be helpful. Can you post this issue on my users community on Google Plus? This way if you need to attach any files or images it will be easy to do. When you post your issue to the community please include the brand and model of the device you used to record your footage, along with the file format, resolution, and bit rate of the video clips you are exporting. plus.google.com/communities/103736620166447167176
errrr.. and I still get that grey circle arrow when I export. In export, I changed advance to "Render completely before export" but I still get the gray circle arrow. Have you ever come across that?
That circle arrow means that Pinnacle doesn't like the file or the frames of the file. You can try to fix it by going to Setup > Control panel > Storage locations and deleting the render files. If that doesn't address the issue you may need to record the file over again at a lower bitrate or you can ask for additional solutions on the Pinnacle Studio forum.
Answered my own question. It can be done on an existing project just fine. Even every once in a while. I delete rendered files this will work for that great. At any given time, I may have (3 or 4) two hour movies on my computer for editing. I started with Pinnacle 9 moved to Avid now I'm back to Pinnacle, Pinnacle 16, I never knew about this trick. I guess when I have time I will have to play with setup. I would like to know if you guys will ever show filming techniques.
Thanks for the great tips! I just spent hours waiting for beige lines to turn green. Almost decided to give up on Pinnacle. Wish I'd looked for a solution earlier. And yes, I subscribed.
Yo Bro!! U have no idea how much helpful u've been with all the tuts man! ima great fan!! i just wanna know whats the program u use to make your intros! cuz dat ish iz dope!! LOVE FROM PORTUGAL!
So when you say jumpy do you mean the audio doesn't match the video? I am having trouble trying to match the audio to the video when imported. Please help and Thank You!
.greetings im having trouble with pinnacle pro 24 .. Won't export or render it.freeze. less than 1% of exporting any suggestions how fix problem or do u jave video.about it?? Any help be appreciated..
You can download transitions from DeclicVideoFX declic-video-fx.com/Hollywood-FX/Free-HFX.aspx and you can get sound effects from a lot of places online. Just Google Sounds effects. I don't know of any other place to download titles or montages.
How can you adjust your video clips so that the sound and the video match up? I have been recording gameplay on my computer and then moving into pinnacle to edit and put them together but the problem is most of them come out where the sound is ahead of the video. Any suggestions?
Hi, when I edit (cut, move, delete, use transitions and save the work periodicaly) after a while (30-50 minutes) the program gets very slow like if I put a transition I have to wait maibe 10 sec for it to start the work on it (green line above the transition) while on program startup it starts work on mounting it in 1-2 sec. What build up where that slows it down? Can I empty something from time to time to keep it "fresh"? So I don't have to restart the program to make it work decent again? Imagine to have to wait 5-10 sec after every change you make in editing, while editing means making tons of change..And since it works fine when starting, I know that the PC can handle it, just something build up with time..And of course it's the only program opened in the PC and stil..
Hi, I record footage in AVCHD and download into Pinnacle Studio 18 Ultimate , edit the footage and then export it to a DVD. I am always disappointed with the quality of the DVD when I play it back. I always select "Best Quality" when I export it. What can I do to improve the quality of the DVD? Is it down to the DVD writer on the computer or something else? Please help!!! Thanks, Kev
Hey PinnacleStudioPro What happens if i just turn off optimization threshold all together? by the way i am using Pinnacle 21 Ultimate ... Normally i edit videos and usually never use any effects. I HATE THAT GREEN LOADING LINE ....
AWESOME! Question ... I have a very fast computer, but insufferable internet speed. My HD uploads are taking hours. I want to keep the quality high, but speed up the irritating uploads. What can I do?
Another great video, thank you, I think I have messed up the settings on lot's of things, can I do a reset without losing any of the insterlation of pinnacle 19 ultimate effects etc also I would like to put render back to factory reset etc and start a fresh, many thanks
+MyStepps Thanks. You can reset the program and not lose anything by following the instructions on this page. www.pinnaclestudiopro.com/resetting-pinnacle-studio-19/
HI - I still have a problem with rendering. I took 6, 1 minute videos on my IPAD for a video I'm doing for my daughter's wedding. I made the rendering adjustments recommended in this tutorial. But what still keeps happening is that 3 of the 6 videos play perfect but with the others, the sound does not align with the speaker in the video. Please help - and thanks! Peggy
Hey my pinnacle 17 keep putting the missing media on the photos..the camera be plugged in,but it still does it..idk if I have too much stuff in the pinnacle or what..I need help..
Thanks for the good tip. I played around with the settings to get something acceptable. I just can't take a really "crappy" preview though. I noticed my laptop which has a faster processor and better video card renders quicker and looks much better when previewing than my desktop pc. My pc and laptop both have 8g of Ram. Laptop has I7 with dedicated graphics, PC has A6 with integrated graphics. Any suggestions on hardware upgrades to improve better quality preview and faster rendering? What's the minimum specs to go for on a video card upgrade? Thanks again for awesome tutorials. keith.
For external monitors go to Setup > Control Panel > Preview. Go to the third option "Show External-Preview on". If you have an external monitor connected PS16 will recognize it and it will show up as an available option when you click the drop down arrow. If it isn't make sure the external device is setup and connected correctly.
Hi my great instructor. I was having problems authoring DVD and using menu. After following your instructions on how to do it, i was able to learn doing it. The only problem i have now is that when i play my Dvd on a Dvd player it doesn't play. but if i play it on my computer it plays. So i don't know what to do. Can you help?
+PinnacleStudioPro ive got a question, I've got Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 18, (for a day right now). When I start to export the movie I made it just stops at 91%. Do you know why this happens? Cause I waited for a few hours and it just stops at 91%. Thank you!
Stenn De Frel Not sure, could be several reasons. Make sure you wait for all the files to render prior to exporting (Line above timeline changes from tan to green and then disappears) Make sure all of the files are compatible (no red lines over the timeline). These are just a few thoughts but I'd need to have more info to get down to the root of the problem. You can post a screen shot of your timeline to the Pinnacle Studio User community or Pinnacle Studio forum for help. forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/242/ShowForum.aspx plus.google.com/communities/103736620166447167176
Not sure if I will do filming tips or not. I probably will at some point as I love thinking up cool shots. In the meantime I recommend you take a look at Jeff Naylor's book "Videomaking The Grammar Revealed" You can check out my book review of it on TH-cam as well. It has a lot of great info on getting great shots for any type of production.
For secondary monitors go to Setup > Control Panel > Preview. Go to the second option "Show full-screen preview on" go to the drop down arrow and select "Second Monitor" or "Other Monitor As Application". If you have PS16 on your main monitor all the time choose "Second Monitor". If you move PS16 between the two monitors from time to time select "Other Monitor as Application" and the preview will always come up on the opposite monitor.
first of all, is there a way to add screen shot to these comments ??if there is it would help me great deal explaining my problem ...I'm working with Pinnacle Studio 20 Ultimate and after burning first DVD I receive a message: The disc export has experienced an internal ERROR (Dx81310010) any suggestions ??
No way to add screen shots. What you can do is post your question along with screen shots to my users community. plus.google.com/communities/103736620166447167176
2 questions please. #1. Your tip on not needing the best quality rendering, and it's best to choose the fastest playback. I have a top of the line computer with 64gb of ram and an Intel i7 with the GeForce gtx 1080. Should I still use the fastest playback? You said when it's exported it won't matter anyway, so should I still use the fastest playback? I want the absolute best quality! How does exporting it make the quality so much better? #2. When choosing your resolution like you did at 1080p 24fps do I need to buy a blank HD disk to handle such a high resolution or will a 4.7GB disk work for 1080p? Will I only get 15 minutes of HD on a regular non HD disk? Thank You.
The preview has no effect whatsoever on the final quality of your video. Choosing fastest playback allows you to preview your editing changes faster because the preview is a lower resolution. What fits on the DVD depends on the quality of the video and how long it is. But, if you are making a 1080p video you can't use a DVD. You have to use a blu ray for HD quality on a disc. DVD's can only hold Standard Definition video.
Could you make or refer me to a video on how to (if its possible) link together to different cuts, maybe even on different tracks, Thank you, love your videos.
I have Pinnacle 12. love it. But now when I try to make my M-PEG-4 but I get a popup saying: "In order to ensure Avid Studio has the latest components you must activate MPEG-4 Encoding/Decoding now. Activation is free, fast and easy. Then there's a big button "Activate now" and I get sent to a website to purchase Pinnacle 22? i do not want 22. crap. Any ideas!?! ? HELP!!
Thank you for this video! I am wondering if you might be able to help me with a Q about Pinnacle 17. I have Pinnacle 14, and I have tried other editing programs, but only Pinnacle makes sense to me so I continue to use it. One feature I really really like is you can "Subdivide Scene" into how ever many seconds you like. So you have one clip of say 30 mins of footage, then you can make it divide that into 60 second/30 second clips etc etc. Is this something that remains on Pinnacle 17/18/ or Avid? As I shoot a web series and take multiple shots of the same scene, this really helps me with picking and choosing between angles and quickly. This might seem a simple feature, but so many other editing programs do not have a similar thing :( thank you.
Ross K Foad You can create multiple scenes from a video clip but I have not used it in the fashion you are explaining so I'm not sure if that option exists or not.
With the apparently endless list of options, settings and choices on Pinnacle, you are a life saver. Thanks
Happy to help.

What do you think about Studio 19. It it worth it or just another version to get more money for Pinnacle.

Wow what a great video. I have been struggling with the rendering issue for years! Thank you so much.

All of your videos very helpful. Is it possible to extend or compress the clip on the timeline in Pinnacle 21 pro, as in Studio 10
You can extend or compress the timeline. You can trim the clip, but you can't change the size of the clip.
Other tips have been very helpful. I have Pinnacle Studio 21 and its working up until it is time to export, then it just sits and doesn't do anything. Any tips for fixing that?

Click on the Export tab, Click on file, Select AVI, Mpeg 4, etc. Choose your resolution, select the folder to output it to, click Start
My recorded video footage doesn't have audio plz help
Does it have audio when you play it with Windows media player? If it does, the next thing you should do is update your audio drivers. It should have audio in Pinnacle Studio after that.
This is going to sound stupid but how do I do that? I mean everything is updated and nothing is showing up for me to update it
Have you tried playing it in Windows Media player yet?

Great tips much appreciated. BTW you have a little humorous side LOL!
Hello Brother, please how so I increase my video resolution acceptable for Facebook, Instagram and TH-cam?
And again you have solved a frustrating problem of mine. Love your videos. You are the Man!!
Appreciate the kind words. Thanks for watching. :-)
errrr.. and I still get that grey circle arrow when I export.
I learn a lot from your tutorials. Thanks you are the best.
Larry Rufus I'm feeling the love! Thanks.
Thanks for the great tips! I just spent hours waiting for beige lines to turn green. Almost decided to give up on Pinnacle. Wish I'd looked for a solution earlier. And yes, I subscribed.
Awesome. I glad you found my tutorial useful. Thanks for subscribing.

Is it possible to download more stuff - more titles, sound effects, montage templates, etc. - for Pinnacle Studio?
Thanks,
Kev
Hey PinnacleStudioPro What happens if i just turn off optimization threshold all together? by the way i am using Pinnacle 21 Ultimate ... Normally i edit videos and usually never use any effects.
I HATE THAT GREEN LOADING LINE ....
I like being a subscriber, your tipps are great!
Awesome! its all good now homeboy!
THANKS I NEEDED THAT RENDER LINE OUT QUICK!
Daniel Chairez Cool. Glad to be able to help you speed up the process.
Great man, thanks a ton for saving me time on rendering settings!
Not sure what you mean...can you clarify?
AWESOME!
Question ... I have a very fast computer, but insufferable internet speed. My HD uploads are taking hours. I want to keep the quality high, but speed up the irritating uploads. What can I do?
You have to get better internet service.
VERY Useful tip. U are the masta!! Thank U.
You're welcome. Thanks for the love!
Thanks again for awesome tutorials. keith.
I would go with a dedicated graphics card with at least 1GB of RAM.
+Nsundidi JOhn Make sure your project settings are set to the correct zone. PAL or NTSC.
thank you so much it worked
*Awesome*. I'm always happy to help my Pinnacle Peeps get things done.

Not sure if I will do filming tips or not. I probably will at some point as I love thinking up cool shots. In the meantime I recommend you take a look at Jeff Naylor's book "Videomaking The Grammar Revealed" You can check out my book review of it on TH-cam as well. It has a lot of great info on getting great shots for any type of production.
great video, very helpfull. A virtual hug from italy
Your tips are a "God-send." Thanks so much for sharing your expertise!!!
Thank u so much just getting in to the video music production and films busz
You are doing an amazing job , Thanks for the great tutorial these video as help me a great deal. :)

+Thedy Gonçalves You're welcome.
I'm encounter a problem with massage that indicating no space to exportI need help.
Does this setting have to be done before putting clip in the timeline for it to work?
No, but you should do it first in order to get the most benefit from it while working on your project.
***** Thank you! If I can find a trial somewhere of 17 or 18 I will give it a go. Not sure if they do one though!
They haven't made a trial version in a few years.
