Another great conversation gentlemen! The Cybercab looked AMAZING in the video presentation, but I now know from this interview of Omar that it won't come close to seeing it and riding in it in person. I had family and friends who don't pay attention to this stuff the way we do, and even they were texting me saying this is the best looking Tesla they have seen. Tesla nailed it with this design! They weren't just going after us nerds, they were going for the mass market who doesn't even know about or think about autonomy. They will want to sit in it and ride in it because it looks so cool. And then when they experience autonomy (many for the first time in this new vehicle), the horse will be turned into something for leisure and the Kentucky Derby all over again...

I agree! Personal car ownership is going to go away for most people, and Tesla is leading the charge again. Having said that, do you see yourself ever selling your Tesla and relying on Tesla’s robotaxi service?

This is a very good interview.
The most interesting part to me is Optimus’s face or lack thereof. I have no idea whether we will just get used to an Optimus face or not. Humans have face pareidolia which means we tend to see faces in everything. It is something so deeply programmed in our brains that the right (or not right) face could make a huge difference on what we trust, and what sells particularly for the home. Older robots often used heads that didn’t look anything like humans and perhaps that is where this will eventually land.
Omar seems to have confirmed FSD13 was the software used for 10/10. I am curious if we ever get confirmation on the hardware, was this AI 5 or a combo of AI 4 and 5? Ys using AI 4 but Cybercabs using AI 5, by example. For me it is an interesting question because I want to know whether Tesla has finally spec’d out AI 5 or if that is still in development. Months ago Elon seemed to indicate AI 5 would be finalized in fall 2024, but who knows. If AI 5 is finished, that seems to suggest Tesla is very confident on what will for sure be Robotaxiable putting aside the comments that suggest AI 4 and HW 3 are Robotaxiable which I do not find persuasive yet. I wouldn’t expect AI 5 to have lingering questions of whether it is Robotaxiable.

AI5 is still in development. Cybercab likely running AI4 for the event. Interesting that Elon is confident that AI5 will be ‘overspec’ in terms of robotaxi capabilities. If they can do anything like AWS it will be wildly material for $TSLA.

after 17 minutes, ok I see why some would suggest to incorporate X Ai, once you spell out Optimus using it, but that can happen without a company merger, is it just easier? A moot point now.
The user Sierra in spaces, was bringing up crucial points about interacting with bots as ITS and not 'He' or 'She' and I am in complete agreement for many reasons. If Tesla had respect for these areas of study, why did they have the event like that with no respect for the direction of Ai, and related topics?
The bots at the event sounded like idiots and it was unethical on top of that. The event had no meaningful demonstration of anything, and the tech is so exciting that I was hoping for something else. It was neat they had a fun event for fans. I didn't even see the vision of the future.
I liked that toaster thing and nobody else does lol. I like the art deco style but it sucks because Elon's a Nazi, so it's a gigantic reminder of that. Right now he's destroying his life instead of figuring out how to solve integration with the future in urban areas with engineers and regulatory boards. He spends more time on fake news. We have so much work to do with this new tech!

IMO, Tesla investors want a piece of xAI, not just because Grok will be on Optimus, but also because they believe xAI has a lot of potential to become a highly valuable company and a solid alternative to OpenAI. Why do you say it's a moot point now?
