  • In this episode of Lauren of All Trades... Lauren goes on the Reykjavik Food Walk tour in Iceland!
We loved this tour and highly recommend it! We got to try 11 different things over the course of the tour.
We were in Iceland after a cruise in June 2023 and only had a couple of days to sight-see so this was an excellent way to try a lot of food with time constraints.
I added up the cost of sampling all of the items we got to sample. As of today's exchange rate, it would cost about $160 for one person (which could go up or down with exchange rate fluctuations). So if you're traveling alone, the tour is a no-brainer to get to try a lot of things. Because of sharing, the tour is less affordable as your party gets bigger, but there's something to be said for being able to try that much in three hours and have a guide to tell you the history of the food and some about Iceland as well. (It came to about 21,960 ISK if you want to check the current exchange rate when you're considering booking it)

cool. We haven't made it there yet. We've done similar food walk tours in NYC, and during a recent trip to Guatemala.

After this tour I decided that food tours are the best way to visit a new city. I highly recommend this one when you get around to visiting Iceland!

I love that you had Arctic Char two different ways - its one of my favourite (and underrated) fish!

I'd never had it! I love salmon which is (I'm sure you know) very similar so I really liked both Arctic Char dishes!

Was there a dog hiding under the table to get your fermented shark?
