Anyone living in Balmain, Rozelle, or Lilyfield shouldn't be driving their cars to the city. If they do they should be charged a congestion charge. Get on your bike, walk or run. It takes minutes. Maybe wait till bus lanes are back before taking a bus.

Not everyone is trying to get to the city. They might be trying to get through the city to the north. Personally i got stuck trying to just get out so I could get down south.

This was always going to be the outcome. Roads are just a BAD SOLUTION when the density of transport user gets too high. Induced demand aside, cars take up a huge amount of space relative to the number of people they carry, while the road layout of a typical end destination (inner-city area with small capacity streets) act as a natural bottleneck meaning "just one more lane" won't solve the problem. Look at cities like L.A or Huston with their mega highways, that despite all the lanes they have, are forever backed up.

I empathize with every individual affected in Balmain, Rozelle, and the Inner West areas due to the Rozelle Interchange project. Regrettably, it seems that there is a pervasive issue of accountability within TfNSW and the state government, regardless of the administration in charge.

Such a shame that Balmain locals can't leave their multi-million dollar homes because of the traffic caused by this national tragedy - we need a royal commission, at least more money will be better spent then!

Not all people who live on the peninsula are wealthy. There is a lot of social housing here. There is also a sizeable renting population. I am a low income earner renting here in a huge block of studios.
Besides that, wealthy or not, there are now many families who cant drive their kids to schools and the buses are getting stuck in the same traffic, it's no better

Hope the government makes transurban pay every cent for the remedial works, and that they get nothing until it's all sorted. Taxpayers should not be responsible for this disgrace.

In the realm of Australian politics and law, a glaring contradiction festers: ordinary citizens, desperate for relief from incurable ailments, languish in prison cells for growing cannabis. Meanwhile, corporate behemoths, including multinational juggernauts, peddle the same substance with impunity, charging astronomical fees akin to those of the underground market. This stark disparity is not merely a legal oversight but a testament to a more insidious trend - the ruthless commodification of our most basic needs and rights.
As a society, we stand at a precarious crossroads. The ethos of 'profit above all' threatens to encroach upon our most fundamental human experiences. Imagine a future where the simple act of relieving oneself is metered and monetized, where corporations hold a monopoly over the very elements that sustain life - water, air, and the earth itself.
This is not mere speculation, but a looming reality if we remain passive spectators. The commodification of cannabis for medical use is a harbinger of a world where everything is for sale, where the right to health, comfort, and even the air we breathe could be commodified. If there's a dollar to be made, rest assured, there will be those unscrupulous enough to exploit it. It's a clarion call for vigilance and action against the unabashed commodification of our lives and planet.
