This is honestly my favorite trailer I’ve seen since The Force Awakens initial trailer. At 1:08 my soul leaves and only comes back to restart it. John Locke knows a thing or two about the number 108 too 😮
Edit: THIS version, with Take on Me isolated as the only audio, not the HBO trailer. It feels like tells the whole story without ever playing the games, and I LOVE with all my heart the games. Bravo.

When I saw scenes of Ellie and Riley, I had to watch that episode. It debuted two nights ago and is one of the best episodes I've seen in media. Their story is beautiful and tragic. Although I knew what would happen from the DLC, the episode kept me engaged throughout their whole time of hanging out at an abandoned mall.

No matter how the rest of the show is, that scene alone has to be the best. So much emotion.
This is a way better trailer cut with this track than the original! The plane crash leading into the climax is perfect.

There was not even a plane crash in the video game itself. ( Honnestly, it is thought to show that kind of tragedy after September 11 in 2001).
I am not exaggerating when I say I got fucking goosebumps watching this. The impact of the plane at 1:41, and combining that with the music, as well as the repeats from 1:26 to 1:39, just… holy shit. I LOVE THIS!!!

Thanks a lot❤. I used the original track from the trailer and increased the sound quality and video with neural networks along with the original songs from The Last of Us main theme and Take on Me tracks. I also tried to manually add many sounds from kicks, orchestras, all the way to the click sound of turning on the radio and radio noise, rain FX, etc. using free sound effects I found. The number of audio tracks used in this track exceeds 80 units btw.

The way take on me transitions in the main theme of the show towards the end made me feel everything all at once. Every single emotion I felt watching this show can be described by that 3 second change in chords. Love, humanity, terror, loss, loneliness, hope and then closure. ALL AT ONCE. In those 3 seconds

A throwback 80s song makes sense, considering the 80s was when video games became what we know them as today and this series was a major evolution in gaming storytelling. So it's a tribute of sorts, showing how far video games have come, from kids entertainment to an anticipated HBO series
