Hi Charmaine. Your grandson is so blessed to have you as his grandmother. You explained this process so very well I know that language will improve because he has all the support of his family. I made boards like this for many years, for my students in speech therapy. I am so glad that families now have access to programs like Canva so they can make communication systems at home.
My 10 month old granddaughter is not delayed in speech however, her mother has been teaching her sign language since she came out the womb. She always said that she wanted her children to speak English Spanish and sign language. This is still an amazing ideal and I’m going to make it because it may be easier for some of the other signs that she hasn’t grasped yet. But at 10 months, she can do milk, more all done.
My son is 23 and had a speech delay. He did have speech therapy which helped tremendously! He’s fine now, but I wish I knew how to make this picture book back then to support the therapy.
