FOXY quick tidbit of info: AE2 batteries can *ONLY* power AE2 machines, so unless you plan on building a nuclear power station just for a storage system, I recommend installing another mod that adds batteries.
@@Ekipsogel RF is just another name for FE*; AE2 uses its own energy system called AE, and its energy acceptors can take FE/RF or TechReborn Energy (the Fabric counterpart to FE/RF) to turn it into AE, but not the other way around - once your power is in your AE2 system you can't convert it back to use for not-AE2 stuff. * For the curious - RF (Redstone Flux) was originally Thermal Expansion's power unit (and indeed Thermal Series still uses that name for it), and lots of other mods started using Thermal's system for power for the sake of compatibility (and also just not reinventing the wheel and coding a new power system for every mod that needs one). You should enchant your leather armor with full fire protection. For thematic purposes of course, since it's not like you'll ever need to use it again since there's definately no chance of your nuclear power ever malfunction or melting down again. BUT, theoretically, if that WERE to happen, then fire protection on the hazmat armor would just be thematically appropriate.
Talk to the developer and get them to add the ability to place those rods inside water and seal it with a heat pipe coming out so that that would be a reactor that could hook up with some engines
I forget what jts called, might be create: crafts and additions, or could be create :stuff and additions, but i think its one of those thst adds batteries in create style, they function and look similar ro storage tanks, and it also adds a diffrent SU-->RF system through alternators and electric motors, which i personally think works much better. Might I suggest encasing the entire reactor in a tank full of water? In real life reactors, the rods are submerged in water which looks REALLY cool when they're turned on as they glow bright blue and lift within the water column. This is actually the inspiration for Godzilla's atomic breath in Godzilla Minus One.
The Mekanism mod has the biggest power storage I've seen in modded minecraft. Called the induction matrix. It is a multiblock that fits the nuclear aesthetic pretty well.
Not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but I like seeing the process of things go wrong and then you fix them. It can get boring watching everything come together that was preplanned in creative over 7 timelapses and 7 different soundtracks.
As far as I know, you don't use the AE2 batteries to store energy, it is made so the power doesn't go down when the AE2 system is working (like crafting, moving items etc), if you want to actively store energy you should think of getting another mod. I would recommend immersive engineering (because it kind of fits to create) but there is no fabric version...
There's a nuclearcraft port for your version and a compatibility mod for new age and nuclearcraft. You should try it out! You can make a fusion reactor with it.
Hey foxy in the last episode with the reactor fuel supplier thing underneath 22:04 the reason it wasn’t working was because the chute was putting it on the belt so if you put a block underneath the chute and the andesite funnel u would save resources
To use nuclear energy, you can use Create: New Age to convert energy into electricity and transport energy to different places. Are you going to build a new electric power station? And build an electric city .
**Weighted ejector plates** ! At 22:44, why not keep the fuel lines running up the wall permanently, and then use weighted ejector plates to fling the fuel thru the air to the access point in the middle? With this reactor's... ahem, storied history, there'd be something uniquely hilarious about the "new & improved, much safer!" version operating on the basis of nuclear fuel flying across the room left and right. 😆
@@foxynotailOkay, some advice: Use Mekanism Extras for mega storage with upgraded induction matrix (this need a lot of progression on Mekanism, but it's worth with 3 EFE per induction cell and 230 GFE/t per provider IIRC), or use Applied Flux for this (u can store FE on disk, energy cells from original AE2 is good only for network capacity), 200 TFE on 1 disk if u use Mega cells add-on. Sorry for my grammar, I don't speak English.
I found your channel less than a month ago. Your create series is really fun to watch. Though I was disappointed that last episode didn't manage to get the reactor working as intended, this episode made up for it! You inspired me to take a crack at my own world. So thanks :)
Looks great. Well done. Inspiring. Small idea with your water/heat over flow drain area. When you want to shut off the system or have an emergency that requires diverting the heat, have a second line of heat pumps going down the drain space/water dump you mentioned was just for show. Have it switch over to the second line via two pistons so you can switch which line is handling the heat instead of pumping more into the main system. You could also make an emergency heat dissipation that connects when you hit a button. It can connect to the mainline via a piston to reduce the overall heat without shutting it down. Loving the vids. TY
So in my experiments with New Age's reactors, the fuel inserters don't actually check if the reactors need fuel and will just eat everything you put in it. Things then get weird after that with the status of the reactor rods. They look like they aren't working, and the heat looks like it disappears. Yet, everything still works. My best conclusion is that the reactors are only supposed to have one fuel cell in them at a time, and something in the code breaks once you add too much.
So an idea for quaranteening any meltdowns: Put the reactor glass all over the pit the reactors are in, like a transparent floor. If something happens it should contain the radiation. And it would look realy cool.
Mekanism has a multiblock called the Induction Matrix. It's modular as well so you essentially build a big battery box, include an input and an output and then you put two types of blocks inside. One that determines the storage space and one that determines in/out-put. And this beast can be 18x18 big! You have it on FTB Skies so you could check it out there.
The fuel-inserting mechanical arm seems to be putting in rods whenever it can and not when it needs to. To not waste a lot of fuel you might want to put the arm on some kind of timing circuit
Ngl, I wish Draconic Evolution was still up to date, because that mod allows for some insane power storage and generation. It'd be perfect for this series, aside from how OP the gear you can make is.
I would recommend using the Mekanism mod for power storage. You can make a multiblock called The Induction Matrix, and you can build a massive one that will store an immense amount of power. Might also fit better with your builds rather than just a bunch of single block batteries
If Draco is evolution is available on your version the big ol’ energy orb would look amazing in another containment building and it holds an insane amount of power

If you're looking for a good battery and power system id recommend flux network or the powah mod both add batteries but also add wireless transfer of electricity
Ideally you should have something that release 4 fuel into the system (1 for each reactor, with the arm on forced round robin) heading to the reactors, and then locks the chute so no more can be dispensed until after a set amount of time (that time being almost to when the previous fuel would run out) saves you on fuel as well as preventing overheating (I'm assuming that the more fuel you add, the more heat the reactors will release, if not, then just stick with what you have I guess. Still should set the arm to forced round robin)
you might have create crafts and additions? (IDK but you probably do), it adds an alternator which is just a create fuild tank/item vault but for FE you can also use this to transport energy on trains with the portable energy interface
i had the same problem of my shafts breaking when using Chain drives. so i switched to Gearboxes and set the steam engines to (clockwise, anti clockwise, clockwise etc) with my Nuclear powerplant.
While watching back the video I saw that the mechanical arm was giving fuel even if the reactors didn’t need any so I think the arm confused the mod, but it’s just a thought.
Why dont you use the Power lines, you need to make another magnet thing and use diamond line? (Idk whats its called) to transfer electricity wherever you want?
i say, since youre going all out with FE generation, add Draconic evolution. Ridiculously incredible at storing FE, and it has a few other bits and bobs.
@foxynotail break a few pumps around the lava source and then place the blocks, the remaining pumps would still melt from overheating but it would have taken longer than if the first lava source kept melting them directly, saving you some cleanup when you went and got you pumps but i guess the pumps are cheap enough to not bother saving a few extra
so what's the purpose of heat pipes if you can just use heat pumps?
