I am REALLY liking how you guys are posting these full videos of the transition songs of the Saxophone standard. MAN the American Military band is something serious!
This is probably the best performance I've ever seen from saxophone players. This is proof the saxophone can be classical just as much as any other instrument.
Breathtaking performance. If I closed my eyes, I'd have sworn hearing flute, saxophones, clarinets and english horns. Maybe even a bassoon. A skilled saxophonist can devellop such sonorities on his instrument... Very impressive. Thanks for sharing !
I watch this video every day before I go to sleep. The way you guys play it is just so gorgeous. You guys really know how to work along one another. Keep up the good work and I wish to see more performances of this amazing quartet in the near future.
Really lovely performance. I remember tackling bari in quartet in my 1st year at university. The breathing. The breathing. The breathing. :) Nice job, everyone though.
I absolutely adore the Andante from this work, and you guys have executed it beautifully! Every note change and timbre change is so tight and together, makes for wonderful listening.
Gorgeous sounds, played with such sensitivity! Why doesn't the US Army send these guys all over the world instead of drones, bombs and other means of destruction??
I do not have words to codify and express the beauty that is being shared by these wonderful and articulate musicians. Suffice it to affirm that they are exemplary in their performances.
Excellent performance! One of the finest renditions on TH-cam! Hope you also post more! Maybe the Scherzo? Maybe Bach? Handel? Or even some fun popular or jazz arrangements? The world needs more good sax!
Thank you! I'm playing a Selmer Series III soprano with an S-80 C* mouthpiece refaced by Robert Scott, and Vandoren traditional #3.5 reeds. I also very much like Selmer's new Concept mouthpiece and may be switching to one in the near future.
At the time of this recording I was playing on a Selmer S80 C** refaced by the late Robert Scott of Lansing, MI. BUT, a couple years ago I did indeed switch to a Selmer Concept mouthpiece.
@@ArmyFieldBand Many moons ago I played in the Scott AFB field band as well as McGuire AFB, for a short time. Clarinet and Alto Sax. Would have loved to have played in something like this with this caliber of musicians. Thank you.
yes, I am the dislike. sorry, I am tired of saxophone quartets trying to make a SAXOPHONE sound like something else. Bari = Cello, Tenor = bassoon, soprano = clarinet or oboe. As a personal preference I only like a classical sound on alto. The rest of the family they want to scream!
That's pretty harsh to pretty much disdain thousands of musicians for their choice of playstyle. These four have amazing sound, even for professionals. They could play circles around you and your misguided opinion.
wibli So you prefer saxophones to play jazz or rock; that's fine. But don't dislike something on TH-cam because it's not your preference. These guys are amazing. I went to school with Dan, the soprano player and he is one of the hardest working, most dedicated musicians I have ever met. What have you done that would impress us?
+kinigit I can see you're into marching band haha I'm playing this piece for solo and ensemble and it's really difficult with it being a level six, 7 being the highest also I'm sure you think it's cool if I told our staff for marching this year was one of the blue devil drum majors from this year's DCI someone from crown and a guy who was in bd in 1988 and 99 and won both DCI

Thanks!
The Bari solo is amazing I love this so much
The two first melody of the beginning are giving me shivers
Baritone player with that awesome circular breathing

Such fantastic work, and the players' names aren't even listed. The military doesn't deserve these world-class musicians...
Performed this in college with my group. I like your interpretations of tempi and your dynamic contrasts!
i think its pretty baller that they have an extra set of saxophone just on stands
I’m crying, it’s to beautiful.

They are such spectacular players and this video sounds amazing, but nothing compares to hearing them live!!
WOW I would think this video would have over a million views, it's that good!
I absolutely adore the Andante from this work, and you guys have executed it beautifully! Every note change and timbre change is so tight and together, makes for wonderful listening.
Such synchronisation. Couldn't ask for more!

John Lindstrom then everyone would be declaring war over who should keep them.
It makes me proud to think that the USA Army has produced these guys!! Let them freely move around the World.
The world would be a better place
Great song. We use to play this song a quartet saxophone

My ensemble played this and we got a one at state solo and ensemble! Thanks so much this video helped a lot!!
Wow, congratulations! So glad this video helped!
Just amazing! You guys are awesome...
This is beautiful 😢
Muy bueno para el oido y la mente, musica de la buena, un saludo.
I aspire to have a tenor sound as clear and beautiful as that
So very, very good. Thank you, gentlemen. Looking forward to seeing the whole band soon in Wabash.
Absolutely beautiful. Thank you gentlemen for giving me some listening pleasure and for your service!
Excellent performance! One of the finest renditions on TH-cam! Hope you also post more! Maybe the Scherzo? Maybe Bach? Handel? Or even some fun popular or jazz arrangements? The world needs more good sax!
Amen!
Truly breathtaking
Beautiful performance!
So good. I love it.
I see you Chris Blossom...sounds great.
Still waiting for the full "xas". It sounds like you have the tightest, cleanest recording by far.
When is "Xas" going to be uploaded?
This chord makes me............. 0:31
你們是我的網老師喔…謝謝你們…
Please do a swing sax chart. That would be amazing!
Good idea! We'll pass that along to our saxophonists.
Could you tell me what brand/model the baritone saxophone player is using? Thank you!
xXCerealBowlXx I think they post their gear online on a PDF. Just search US Army sax quartet gear or something like that
Lovely soprano sax sound! Please tell me your setup.

Twenty Two Airmen disliked this video.
wow
What mouthpiece/ligature is that tenor player using, a selmer soloist? Amazing performance too of course.
He’s probably using the gold plated ishimori ligature and a d facing S80
Carlin Yohei I
2:15 wut just happened
What mouthpiece is the soprano player using?
2five3 a Selmer concept and a versa ligature
Jazz Meister - it’s not a concept. it looks like an s80 or maybe even s90
At the time of this recording I was playing on a Selmer S80 C** refaced by the late Robert Scott of Lansing, MI. BUT, a couple years ago I did indeed switch to a Selmer Concept mouthpiece.
What model soprano sax is being used?
I've met these fine players in person, he plays a Selmer Series III.
Where is this "Field Band" stationed? Nice job.
Never mind. Just realized they are the DC Band.
Hi Ron! We are stationed at Ft. Meade in Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C.

Im a little late to the party, but what reeds do yall use?
They play Selmer ?
Where do you suggest I buy this sheet music from?
+νєѕтα Have you tried a google search? There are several vendors that would sell music by Bozza
I wish my Tenor's C# wasn't so sharp!!!
