My only point was, in the context of what he was saying, it is unclear to me whether he was making the claim that that was the first rap record ever released or whether it was the first rap record he heard. For example, he and his friends might have heard Rapper's Delight on the radio before King Tim III (Personality Jock) despite the fact that King Tim III (Personality Jock) was released first. We simply don't know his radio listening habits, how often King Tim III (Personality Jock) was played, or if he was listening to the radio at the time when it might have been played. Also, I believe the statement was made in the context of song structure, so his point might have also been that it was the first of a type of song. Also, he could have had a mind freeze. I was just saying that I didn't think he was making the claim that you thought he was making.
