    The price point is what makes you think it'd be bigger. At least it did for me.

    I really enjoyed your review. I actuality backed two of them so I could do one up authentic vintage style and one custom. Unfortunately current space limitations have kept me from unboxing either of them yet, so it was nice to see a thorough review of what I'm in for. 🙂 My only real disappointment with the project was that I would have much preferred getting the Joe deck crew figures with my Joe vehicle. The Cobra figures just don't make sense to me with this. Maybe Super 7 will make them in their new o-ring line...

      Yeah, I would have loved the deck crew.

    I kind of want to see it all Cobra-ed out. I’m guessing the only ones doing that are the people who bought and want to display two, which probably isn’t a lot.

      I'm surprised Hasbro didn't release a digital mock up of it with those decals

      There is a GI Joe named Maverick. He's a pilot from Battle Force 2000.

    I had a jet similar to this as a kid. It had a fold out handle and made noises. I looked it up its called the Ghoststriker X-16. It was probably expensive when it came out. I got it when my mom found it at a garage sale and brought it home one day. It was in really good condition so I was really happy as a kid.

      The Ghoststriker had a little projector built into it. It could shine targets on the wall.

      I get that for toys you haven't seen in years, like to a non-collector, but I see and hold this stuff pretty frequently. I just thought for the price it would be larger.

    The fuel cart, and missile truck were not tiers. They just came with it. And Ace, is not a reprint of the original. It is a different figure.
    But what they should've made was a full plastic version of the original cardboard cobra missile base. My opinion.

    Americas biggest mistake is to give Iran F-14s instead of Ukraine and Taiwan. Now it’s going to be hard to make new gi joe shows and movies plus top gun movies and macross shows.

      The plane wasn’t worth it to fly any more. Even the Super Tomcat 21 if it would have been adopted would only prolong its life so long.

      I don’t know how will Tom cruise make a third top gun movie without the tomcat and how will GI Joe make another tv show or movie without the tomcat.

    It does all fit in the box. I put the stickers and wings on mine and then used the cardboard to put it back on the box. Even the stand fits nicely on the side with it. I, too, hate the stupid paper packaging. Wouldn't it've been great to get all these missiles on a plastic frame?

      @@Pegwarmers I managed to get all the carded figures in the box too. The two canopies was done on purpose, so you can switch out depending on the pilot/stickers you've used on them.

    I think this is a spectacular set and I'm glad that your video is the first time I've seen it reviewed. At some point, I'll watch HCC788's review.
    I probably won't get this Skystriker though. I think it's reasonably priced considering the new figure additions and all the accessories. I just don't have the attachment to the Skystriker.
    The best features are the new o ring figures. I think Ace v2 or v3 would have been a better addition than Ace v1.
    I don't know if anyone else has noticed that Fail Safe is an O3 Navy Lieutenant while Ace is an O3 Air Force Major (at least on his old file cards).
    I also don't know much about the Haslab sponsorship funding program and that has kept me from going down the rabbit hole on the new releases.

    Excellent review my apprentice.... I did get the Skystriker and I'm very happy with it overall with all the accessories and figures that came with it. The figures I will keep them on card and display them in star cases.. Absolutely loving the cardbacks as this is the only time we get full charcater dossiers in English and not the crappy 5 language bios on the retail versions. I was a 80s kid so Star wars and Gi joe were and still is my bread and butter in my collection. I still have some of the vintage vehicles and figures, like the Rattler, Conquest X30, Cobra Moray hydrofoil, Awe striker, HISS tank, Fang chopper, Trubble Bubble, Triple T tank, Ram cycle and the Terror Drome to name a few so I was all in on the Skystriker as I never had this as a kid. Im happy that hasbro has gone back and done the vintage styled packaging and the O-Rings again after all these years and I'm a o-ring collector so this was a no brainer. I do hope Hasbro continues to expand the O-ring line. Just received the retro cobra stinger and I hope we see more vehicles with figures packed in. I do hope Hasbro will do more O-Rings for retail or haslabs.

    • @Pegwarmers
      @Pegwarmers  ปีที่แล้ว

      Time will tell about more O-Rings, but I think there is fan support.

  • @sl00tym4g3
    @sl00tym4g3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Feel Like O-Ring vehicles would still sell in retail, not sure if they need to Haslab them, but loading them up with cool accessories like the stand, like the blast effects, really lights and sounds it makes it more worth. I'd like to see more of the iconic vehicles get another release the Mauler especially!

    • @Pegwarmers
      @Pegwarmers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I think the Mauler could get a really great upgrade.

      I agree bring back the o ring line to stores I know it would sell very well and Hasbro knows it would too but they just won't do it

    • @jeffreyyoders6366
      @jeffreyyoders6366 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm only using 25th and up figures to display with this. When you have those, and they fit in the cockpit, why mess around with archaic figure technology?

    • @Pegwarmers
      @Pegwarmers  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeffreyyoders6366 I hear that, but some people just prefer the old look.

    • @killardan1
      @killardan1 ปีที่แล้ว

      But think if it did go to retail. The bots would've eaten it up at pre-order. Then actually funding it on the shelves would've been a pain. I'll gladly pay the haslab price for such units.
