@DuangJai99 XLR (on mixer) to XLR (on L1 Model 1) to channel one on preset 00, if you use an in-line -20db pad. Or you could connect the XLR output (on mixer) to channel 3 0r 4 with an XLR to 1/4" cable. Lastly you could run the XLR on mixer to a DI box (into the XLR side & then with a 1/4" to 1/4" cable go from the 1?4 on the DI to either channel 3 or 4. The last option would give you a ground lift switch in case of a hum.
sir,Thank you for such a wonderful review. I wanted to listen the vocal and karaoke through this mixer but the link you privided doesnt workk. please upload one soon. Thanks a lott in advance
You don't want the Presonus because no motorized faders. It is more designed for live than studio. I would use the Mackie control surface it is compatible with ProoTools, Cubase, Nuendo etc.
@lindsayannemusic you could potentially have stereo L&R track & groups 1-6... that is 8 separate tracks total. If you use the last 2 group tracks though you will loose the on-board efx.
Hey I know is been like 9 years, but at my church we use this mixer for the music and the microphones (singing and preaching) I don’t really know how to use it, I know a few things but I’m having issues with controlling the amount of sound coming from the microphones and the music(not a band) out of both the big speakers and monitors, that it creates a pitching sound. I need some where to learn everything about How to set up a good PA System and how to properly use every thing. Can anyone help me 🥺🥺
DJJDBass is there a good way step by step how to set up this mixer like what should be turn on and what should be turned off. I use this for church, the singers sing over pre recorded songs. So is kind of like karaoke.
@monoseb I think 6 if you used L&R groups 1&2 & Aux 1&2. It would all be analog as well. By the way I have only used this mixer live & for two track L&R recording.
@DuangJai99 After you you are connected then it's just a matter of gain staging. Sync the main output lights to the L1's input light. Once you are at full out put hitting some reds on the mixer agust the trim on the L1 to be hitting some reds as well.
I just have to say thank you but you left out some key elements that could have been useful. When learning a new mixer(berhringer) seeing has how you said you had issues with it, a mixer is just one strip repeated multiple times... the layouts are pretty much the same for the yamaha and berhringer mixer.
Hi there I'm in a live program but I was wondering how can I add delay to the voice, if you could reply as soon as possible that's will be great help. Thank you so much
If I use this to record on my computer with programs like pro tools 9 and or Garage Band would it work? (As in would all of the things you pug into it come out on seperate tracks?) I dont mean like sereo just left and right, I mean all seperate tracks, I want to record drums..
WTF.. The place i rehearse music has a MG166CX and a larger MG24 mixer... the faders etc seem solid and no white noise and such. The large mixer has a dual effects section and seem very sold indeed.. But this is analog mixer , i have no experience with their digital mixers ..
sir please help me...i use this mg166cx..i have 6microphones,i have input keyboard 2 electric guitars and our bass guitar..but the sound is unclear...i cannot produce a clear sound...ihave to yamaha speakers having a nominal impedance of 8ohms...pls help me..i dont have any knowledge in sound mixing..thank you sir...
i use this for musical theater and we were getting pretty bad feedback during our practice. Can you tell me any way to fix the feedback we were getting from the mics?
Madison Webb could be a mixture of things. too much sub bass frequency earth / ground loop too much volume feeding from any monitors back to the microphones etc
Can I connect a combo guitar amp in stead of some monitor boxes or something? My combo amp has an external output. Srry for my bad English, I am a Dutchman
Yamaha sucks. You can’t rely on buying musical gear and have support for more than 5 years. I am talking about Mlan and the 01x the predecessor of what you are about to buy here. No win 7 64bit drivers and I DO BLAME F@@@@N’ Yamaha for that. There is no solution or workaround…dead end. No respect for their customers.I will never trust Yamaha EVER!!!!! I am going to throw this €1400 musical equipment to the trash because I don’t want to sell it and deceive an other person like Yamaha deceived me!
@floguitarfreak no your right, usually active and powered mean about the same thing. But when looking for active board always search powered.

Yes, for every XLR input.
@floguitarfreak yes - it's for live use - the outputs are on the top right & it is passive-
Thanks

@jmvmain thnx, did not know that, I'm used to people asking is it passive or active, and I assumed it was a legitimate question...
your title said... Bose L1... didn't see you mention anything about it. i'm interest of how you connect the mixer to the bose l1.
@floguitarfreak there is no "active" for boards. it's passive out or powered out.

@ipopjizzy Usually between $300.00 or $400.00 + shipping.
@christmasforacause look on ebay at "gator mixer bags" find one that will fit the size of the MG166CX.

Is there an usb out for recording
For the USB model
@StageLeftStudio they may be similar but with the berhringer the quality is just not there. IMO
Maybe, but I would look into a Presonus StudioLive for recording if I were you.
hey bro this is cool.. Just wana ask that would this mixer work as a recording interface for protools or other recording softwares ?
Great video. Could you compare this board to Allen and Heath? Thanks man
Why did U remove the video for the vocals.....?????
@christmasforacause Gator has a small mixer bag that works great - I have one for mine. :)
Con mixer này nhiêu tiền vậy ạ
I wanted to know whether I can use this mixer on a live situation, I couldn't see any outputs, and is it passive or active. Thanks in advance.
