To cut you should use a sword because a keris is a stabbing weapon, you can look for references to ancient swords in Indonesian Java such as lar bango, which are unique in shape and there are reliefs on the Penataran temple or the Kadga sword which has reliefs on the Borobudur temple or in Prambanan temple. You can see on google or youtube. If you use this sword, I think Indonesians will be amazed because not all Indonesians understand about the sword.
Those ain't keris daggers. Those are flame-tongue swords. Keris daggers are sleek almost dayonet like daggers design for stabbing. The dagger is intended to be slipped through the rib cage.

The ancient keris in Java was only used by knights and aristocrats, the material was not made carelessly using a mixture of molten meteor rock if you ask why? In Java, many studied magic, so it was not surprising that a very hard meteorite rock could be made by an empu (this is what a keris craftsman calls) and the manufacture also had to do quite a lot of rituals. The most interesting thing about a keris is that it is a heirloom that is deliberately filled with magic, so the creation must go through several rituals first

Damascus, is the finest steel, and meteorites are made up of many different metals, so it’s not typically used in forging as it causes weak structure in the blade. That being said, the majority of weapons through history made of meteorites were made with very poor craftsmanship in countries without much forging knowledge.
omg that traditional weapon of my province.. But the real keris make form meteorite stone and have magical power.. You can kill people whitout touch them
a little comment, the iron made for a dagger is not said to be said that the iron is made from meteor pieces and the dagger can split the sky and land, because it has magical powers
In Indonesia especially in Java a Keris is actually a weapon that has a cultural heritage and history. A Keris also doesn't need to be big. A real keris is actually abou 12 to 15inches max.
In ancient times Indonesian warriors fought with spear, bow&arrow, keris, and karambit. Even The Mongols couldn't tamed them. Things changed when Westeners colonist came with guns for gold, glory, and gospel.
Same in Philippines bro our proud kris, sundang, ginunting, kampilan, and bolo can’t outmatched a gun of a western but we forced them to invent stopper on their guns.
my father get furious when i showed him this LoL...making Keris is not an easy job, it can't be made in just 5 days or so, it took patience, passion, dedication and experience...making Keris is like raising child, make one mistake and you messed up, you will ended up with bad Keris that can't even stab a tomato, the materials are not metal but instead a meteorite, the surface of a Keris is sand papery like but softer, there's ornament too on the base of the sword, the handle are shaped from a solid wood that has been carved, some like the handle to look simple but some like detailed handle, every Keris is special...every Keris has stories, you know it's precious when you hold it and feels the Pande (blacksmith) love and dedication toward his creation, and since it from Indonesia specifically Java, it has mystical powers...but you did a good job making that Keris
This weapon is not ordinary blade. They put some poison while forging. Have deep meaning in every single side. I am Javanese and I own it. Well, Thank's to learn one of Javanese culture.
Pretty bad example of keris there. Keris is a stabbing weapon. If you want to swing and slice, should use a keris sundang. Overall, i wouldn't call that a keris tho.
"Keris" is Indonesian, javanese weapon. If I remember it correctly, the weapon should be smaller. It is actually a magical weapon, in it creation there should be a ceremony, where people said the Javanese bladesmiths put a spirit on each weapons. Some of the pagans still collecting them, using the weapons as some kind of charm against evil spirits.
As far as i know.... Keris is pointing blade oppose to swinging blade (parang) its suppose to have handle/pommel that compliment palming and pointing (like gun) its has britttle edge for poison insert its guard design to counter disarmament its sheath act as secondary blunt weapon wavy edge for cutting when the blade is push or pull in straight

Thank you 🙏😊
Damascus, is the finest steel, and meteorites are made up of many different metals, so it’s not typically used in forging as it causes weak structure in the blade.
Keris is from malaysia not indonesia
@@adi5942 both country had it. It had different story & use. & only had similar model
Your words are accurate.
@@adi5942 wakakakakk.. Keris has been claimed by UNESCO as Indonesian (Javanesse) heritage weapon, not malay.
@@adi5942 It pretty well established that the keris originated in Jawa.
Thank you very much!
In java we called Mpu no blacksmith 😂
Actually its use is not like a sword, but as a magical weapon
Kris is not just from indonesia, but it's from South East Asia like Malaysia, indonesia, brunei and singapore
Haze is from Indonesia
yaiyalah di asia tengara ada keris. Dulu kan bekas kekuasaan Kerajaan Majapahit.
but originally from java
In ancient times Indonesian warriors fought with spear, bow&arrow, keris, and karambit. Even The Mongols couldn't tamed them. Things changed when Westeners colonist came with guns for gold, glory, and gospel.
Same in Philippines bro our proud kris, sundang, ginunting, kampilan, and bolo can’t outmatched a gun of a western but we forced them to invent stopper on their guns.
I never heard the name of “indonesia” in the sword era. That country doesn’t exist except for the gun era😅 so ur were wrong.
@@youngrich4092 The old name of Indonesia was the "Netherlandch-Indies" until they declared independence. so you won't find "Indonesia" in sword era
Back in the day only nobles can have that
Try borneo blade “mandau”
a blade that has a distinctive carving of the Dayak tribe
my father get furious when i showed him this LoL...making Keris is not an easy job, it can't be made in just 5 days or so, it took patience, passion, dedication and experience...making Keris is like raising child, make one mistake and you messed up, you will ended up with bad Keris that can't even stab a tomato, the materials are not metal but instead a meteorite, the surface of a Keris is sand papery like but softer, there's ornament too on the base of the sword, the handle are shaped from a solid wood that has been carved, some like the handle to look simple but some like detailed handle, every Keris is special...every Keris has stories, you know it's precious when you hold it and feels the Pande (blacksmith) love and dedication toward his creation, and since it from Indonesia specifically Java, it has mystical powers...but you did a good job making that Keris
This weapon is not ordinary blade.
They put some poison while forging.
Have deep meaning in every single side.
I am Javanese and I own it.
Well, Thank's to learn one of Javanese culture.
betulkah mengandung uranium dan arsenik? dari komen lain...
the right way to test that weapon is. which one who can stand by it self or shooting fire/thunder.
No. They're make it wrong.
But it's also pretty good knowing that they make it in just 5 days with zero knowledge of the Javanese Keris.
Pretty bad example of keris there. Keris is a stabbing weapon. If you want to swing and slice, should use a keris sundang. Overall, i wouldn't call that a keris tho.
What's this edit? Can we please see it being outperformed? I felt like he was killing it haha. What was this other blade like ?

"Keris" is Indonesian, javanese weapon.
If I remember it correctly, the weapon should be smaller.
It is actually a magical weapon, in it creation there should be a ceremony, where people said the Javanese bladesmiths put a spirit on each weapons. Some of the pagans still collecting them, using the weapons as some kind of charm against evil spirits.
Yes Keris from java and claim melayu
@@gw-lz5mo yes hahahahahaha ngeclaim weapon melayu
@@gw-lz5mo claim wkwkkw
Tbh there's a lot of Keris types. Long version and the popular short version
As far as i know....
Keris is pointing blade oppose to swinging blade (parang)
its suppose to have handle/pommel that compliment palming and pointing (like gun)
its has britttle edge for poison insert
its guard design to counter disarmament
its sheath act as secondary blunt weapon
wavy edge for cutting when the blade is push or pull in straight
They want the keris so they send him home
He actually got to take his blade home. He also auctioned it off for a good charity called lighthouse for life.
@@jillbrazell6756 iam just joking, lol don't take it seriously. By the way To make a good keris it should use meteorite .and skilled blacksmith and with extraterrestrials thing like the legend said, the best keris made by someone with title' Mpu' or 'empu'
I love indonesia, it is land of weapon. Kerambit, kelewang, golok, clurit, badik, kujang, and kriss. Love it so much
kris is not only for indonesia, it is from philippines too and malaysia.
“IT WILL KEEEL”
Javanese : Keris
Japanese : Katana
It's actually not a keris, it's too big for a kris.
Next: inserting Jin into the keris and the keris fly
Did the other guy even make a weapon, or was it just in his imagination?
Keris are normally a weapon for stabbing not for slashing but cool videos though
