I'm a high schooler stepping into college with a cs major and I LOVE YOUR COURSES SO MUCH! I just got the JS Data Structures certification and I feel so accomplished! Thank you so much!
This program is definitely worth your time. I originally started learning code because I wanted to give my ex a virus. this was an awful idea... don't do this, but that was my main motivator. I now make websites as a side hustle. like she said, you'll need to supplement some of the courses but don't think for a minute that this program is a waste of time. Id also recommend hand writing your notes, it 100% helps with memorization (Dufour, intro to psych). Also have something to motivate you through the program. If you don't, you will throw your head through your computer.
"This program is definitely worth your time. I originally started learning code because I wanted to give my ex a virus." a troll birth captured live for the first time ever. And in the wild!!! This is a great day for science.
@@myfreetimeaccount9450 I was kind of concerned about that, because although I'm still a beginner, I understand the syntax of python and can create basic programs using if-else statements and I noticed the 300 hour and I was like, wtf thats like 150 days for 1 course if I were to do this 2 hours a day.
The lessons are pretty easy, but they really seemed like something you did after you watched a few hours of youtube, more like a confirmation/checklist that you learned it already.
People need to figure out what type of learner they are.. if you're independent in the quintessential version of the word... free code camp is for u... if u need all the bells and whistles... go there.. you also will need to buy books... also start planning projects that interest you...
Great review! It's free so one can only expect so much. And now they have made so many videos on the topics they cover. It would probably be good if they would link to the related videos within the lessons. BTW. You have such a nice voice. Sounds so professional. Straight up PBS. ;-)
The best method is that after completing the course, you should watch video or lecture about the course again. It will build your bias strongly. And adding a book to help you understand what's going on? :How does web works ? How can you calculate pixel ?......
Looking to jump in and debating which is the best language to start with? Have no idea what specific field and area I might be most interested in, so looking for broad coverage for 1st language. I was thinking Python but wondered if anyone had any different thoughts?
@@sarahsebaa82 like all, there were good parts and bad parts. On the positive side, you learn js and you learn it well. On the negative side, too much import is put on using linux and there is no certification at the end. HTH
I'm starting to try to learn and see if I have what it takes to be a front end web developer at first. I am with the FCC curriculum and my idea is this 2021 to form solid bases in html and css, to carry out several projects and my portfolio. My query is for those who have studied in a self-taught way, who consider better or gave better results for you, take notes with pencil and paper or use something like evernote, notion, etc and do it directly on the pc?
I will definitely look into this, especially since it is free. Thank you so much for your personal recommendation on this site. I am so ready to explore more on what I want to pursue.
FCC is definitely a time investment. If you can invest 2 years and do the volunteer work, then you will gain experience. For me, FCC is good for continuing education because you basically want to get some experience in this highly competitive industry ASAP.
I think Freecodecamp is great for individuals like myself who just want to see if coding is for them, I don't feel as if I need to memorize everything just get an overall understanding on what everything does.
Your gonna have to get some projects under your belt as well along with these carts I believe, from most of the videos I’ve seen about this topics the best way to gain experience is volunteering and getting internships
Thank you for posting this video. I just cam across an Instagram post from an HR recruiter that mention FreeCodeCamp. I'm coming from a completely different industry so I need all the free, legit help I can get.
Always remember to repent of your sins (sin is transgression of YAHUAH The Father In Heaven’s LAW: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy) And Have Belief On Yahusha The Messiah. HE Died and Rose three days later so that you can be forgiven of your sins! HE Loves you! Come to HIM🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Totally worth it. 😀

As a beginner at web development I'm just AMAZED at FCC content quality.
Cheers from Brazil
For sure
link the videos to the lessons and you will explode
Are certificates free? 🤔

But what about after you completed the certification? How was it trying to get your first job?
When she left did you say " I hope you get a virus, you and your computer"
BTW, the basic HTML & CSS is not actually 300 hours. Kind of an estimation. Probably around 150-200 hours or 300 if you're an absolute beginner.
Exactly, I remember I did it in 2 or 3 days by coding all day, and I was only just getting started with web dev at the time.

I’m using free code camp to document my process and then I hopped into Udemy along the side.

It's worth nothing they are totally changing the way the website will work with curriculum 7.0 but that's way far off, we're talking months here.

1. His name is Jesus.
2. Repenting of your sins for everlasting life is found NOWHERE in the Bible.
Nah they should pay us! haha
